hey guys, i want to make my own DVD Box Set of the despecialized edition, i downloaded the DVD5 version, i just found awesome covers for Blu-ray versions. I want to make my own box set for my dvd’s, I have the measurements of the covers of the dvd’s cases but I need the height, width and thickness of what the box would be, a box for 3 DVD’s…if anyone help me with the box size for 3 dvds please, sorry for my english 😃

Hi Omar, it depends on the thickness of the card you are going to use for your 3 dvd disc boxset, but the measurements of one of my sets is… height is 190mm, width is 144mm, and the depth is 48mm.

I’d have a practice go first - or buy a cheap 3 disc boxset from a local market, car boot sale or a cheap shop - and have a play around with that to get it just right for the type of boxset you want to build.

Good luck 😃

oojason’s idea of “reusing” an existing box set is an Excellent idea! You can get one dirt cheap @ a Pawn shop, like $5? The recover it with your own designs. I wish I would have thought of that before I make my box sets.

Getting the printout on a large enough paper to glue to the whole box in 1 piece was the tricky part. I used Bristol Board? Depends on how rigid you want the end result to be? Keep in mind the thicker it is the harder to cut & bend.

The nice thing about making your own is once you figure it out, you want to make another, then another!

My first set has a box within a box, my 2nd set was made to look like an old style Film shipping box, with straps.

I screwed up calling the 1977 A New Hope…as it was just Star Wars in 77.

box1!

box2!

GOOD Luck. Just take your time & measure, measure, measure!

Remember, short controlled bursts.
