Hey there! I’m Ershawn, I grew up with the prequel trilogy. Recently watched through episodes 1 through 6 with my girlfriend for her first time viewing of Star Wars, and then found out about this site and the wonderful edits here after she requested we watch 7, 8, and 9

Hi Everyone!

New member here, glad to be part of the community now.

I grew up watching the 1995 VHS Trilogy set, which I recently revisited. Like many millennials, this was how I first experienced and fell in love with these movies. It could just be nostalgia, but I think there’s certain charm to the soft texture of the VHS that adds to the experience of watching these films. It was also fun remembering what it looks like in 4:3.

Anyway, I appreciate all the work this community has done in preserving the original films and bringing them into a more modern home release.

Hello All!
Fan of Star Wars since the very late 70’s. Have vague recollections of seeing Star Wars (Ep. 4) at a drive in theater. Collected everything I could when RotJ came out in 83: Action Figures, Trading Cards, Books.
A fan of most things 80’s and 90’s.
Recently found out about this site on Reddit and I am very impressed with what the community does and shares. Thank you for having me and I hope to be able to contribute in anyway possible.

Happy to be here!

Drive in theater sounds like an amazing way to see it for the first time!

So very pleasing to see so many people with a love for the Original Trilogy (and for film preservation, edits and projects etc too) find this place and join the community here.

Hope to see many of you in joining in the conversations in the various discussion forums across the site. 👍

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Welcome to the OriginalTrilogy.com | Introduce yourself in here | Useful info within : About : Help : Site Rules : Fan Project Rules : Announcements
How do I do this?’ on the OriginalTrilogy.com - includes info on how to ask for a fan project and how to search for projects and threads on OT•com.

A Project Index for Star Wars Preservations (Harmy’s Despecialized & 4K77/80/83 etc) : A Project Index for Star Wars Fan Edits (adywan & Hal 9000 etc)

Take your time to look around this site before posting… Do NOT just lazily make yet another ‘link request’ post - or a new thread asking for projects.

Hello everyone, new around these parts but really interested to join the discussion.

I’ve been a fan of Star Wars since I was 5 years old and my grandfather gave me a toy Millenium Falcon for Christmas one year. Then my parents showed me the movies and it was instant love. I remember watching TMP in theaters in 1999 and each of the other movies. But, nothing has ever captivated me the way that the story in the original 3 have.

I can relate to that! The newer releases never given me the feeling I had watching the originals a kid. No matter how good they are, I’m not 10 anymore so it can’t possibly have the same impact. Still, there have been moments watching Andor that came pretty damn close.

Hey all, new here (obviously!). I’d like to introduce myself before asking for links.

I have ADHD. So I struggle to watch movies / series with filler, multiple plot lines and multiple characters etc. I can’t properly keep track of what’s going on and how less important stuff is related, or not. A good example is season 2 of Andor; I’m about the watch the last episode now, and I haven’t started to enjoy it until after episode 7. After episode 7, everything is much more linear and much more to the point, leading up towards Rogue One. I WANT to enjoy Andor, but there’s too much side / background stuff going on for me to properly enjoy it. So I’m very grateful for everyone creating truncated, more central plotline focused versions!

I’d rather watch a longer, clear, to the point, feature film than ~10 episodes of going back and fourth between plotlines and characters, just to fill of episodes to keep people engaged. I guess that’s what ADHD does to you, among many other things, of course.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi Everyone,

I am here to learn about the different versions the Original trilogy and check out some fan edits. I remember seeing an attempt to recreate the original theatrical cut of Star Wars that was really good. Hoping to see more stuff like that.

Cheers!

Sagrona! fresh recruit here… Just finished ANDOR–my not-very-Star-Wars wife loved the series, but she can’t even remember Rogue One. I know she will appreciate the story anew, now that it’s the conclusion of a story she enjoyed. I went searching for “Rogue One recut into Episodes” and ended up here–what a great community! Now chilling until I can download @NFBism’s “ANDOR: The Rogue One Arc”

Hello guys,

i found this community while informing myself about those 35mm scans. I want to thank all the people involved in making the scans, work done better than most commercial releases imo.
As probably all of us here, I’m a passionate movie enthusiast too. I personally enjoy watching old movies (from 20 years ago) and ancient movies ( from 40 years ago). I don’t like what the movie industry is producing since like let’s say 2008/09 but that doesn’t change the quality of those classics, on the contrary.

With that said, I hope I won’t be a burden to this community and I can contribute in having a great time here.

I think Andor is a great entry into the Star Wars universe for someone how isn’t necessarily a fan already, especially if their taste leans toward character driven “prestige” content with moral ambiguity and well written dialog. For me it’s the best Star Ware related thing to come out since the original trilogy. Welcome to the group.

Hi everyone!

I thought I had an account here years ago but, well, I guess I didn’t!

I grew up with the OT on VHS, and now that I have kids of my own I want to show them the same OT that I grew up loving so much. My oldest is seven, and we’ve watched Harmy’s Despecialized Star Wars together – his first of the franchise. Since that was the only one I’d downloaded I started looking for info on his ESB and RotJ releases and found myself back on these forums.

(For anyone else with little kid, the Little Golden Book adaptations of the movies are quite good – we’ve literally read the covers off our copy.)

Looking forward to chatting with all of you!

Howdy!

Just stumbled across this, brilliant. I haven’t signed up for an online forum in years. It’s nice to have so many people who share love for the OT.

I was thinking back the other day to when I watched them on VHS in my room as a kid. You just can’t ever shake the first time you laid eyes on it. My wife’s about to give birth to our first, a little boy and am I looking forward to sharing that experience with him a little ways down the road.

Hopefully with copies that does them justice! Hope to really enjoy interacting in this forum. Can’t wait to deep dive into some projects and understand what really goes on here. See you around
