Ah ha. I think I see the problem. Are you trying to download them all in one sitting? If that’s the case, it won’t work. As I said here:

All these links are in free accounts, which have a 5 Gig transfer limit. That means you’ll probably only be able to download a maximum of 10 files before getting a window telling you to wait several hours before continuing to download.

Since the files are 500 MB each and there is a 5 GB transfer limit, the largest number of files you’ll be able to get in one sitting is 10. Then you have to wait for about 6 hours and download another 10. Repeat until you have a complete set of rars for one of the following six sets:

Star Wars Despecialized 2.7 BD50 (83 rars in this set)
Star Wars Documentaries (42 rars in this set)
The Empire Strikes Back Despecialized 2.0 BD50 (83 rars in this set)
The Empire Strikes Back - Documentaries BD25 (40 rars in this set)
Return of the Jedi Despecialized BD50 (83 rars in this set)
ROTJ & SW Trilogy Documentaries BD50 (82 rars in this set)

It will probably take a few days just to download one complete set because of the cool off time, but that is the only way it will work. Stick to doing 10 at a time and wait before downloading the next batch. That should work, and when you finally are done, then extract them. As I said, my aim is to make them available, but inconvenient. Patience. Take your time my friend. And good luck!

On my computer it opens a text edit document that has the urls to each that I copy paste. I don’t use mega.

You have to use mega to get the rars. That’s where they are stored. Did you mean you don’t use a download manager? And/or did you mean that you can’t get a single file to download through your browser?

I think he saying he copies each MEGA link manually into jdownloader, but I’m still not entirely clear.

It might help if you gave us a detailed step-by-step of everything you did.

Author

I go to the site where the form is, then I click on the rar link, it takes me to a google docs page which I then download which upon downloading turns into a TextEdit document which has a bunch of URLs under headers. I copy and paste all the URLs into JDownloader and it then either subsequently fails to download one of the files or one of them downloads into a folder. Annnd after even getting one of them to download into a file the unarchiver issues a “this file is incomplete and cannot be unpacked” warning and that’s the end.

You have to download every file before you can unrar any of them. They’re partials, not full files.

So, for example, for ANH, you’d need to have all 83 RAR files fully downloaded first, then you open the first one of the 83 and it’ll unpack all of them. But if you only have 82 and are missing 1, it won’t work, and you’ll get the “incomplete” message you’ve been getting.

Yes, ChainsawAsh is correct.

Those 83 rars are 83 pieces of one MASSIVE ISO file that is over 46 gigabytes. And you have to have all the pieces before you can extract anything. But once you have a folder full of parts 1-83, then you can use unarchiver, making sure to set the destination somewhere with about 50 more gigs of free space. Select the first rar of the batch (“Star Wars Despecialized 2.7 BD50.part001” in the case of the Star Wars Film Blu-ray) and start the extraction process. Your computer will recognize that it is part of a set and automatically extract all the rars. It will also reassemble them into the finished ISO file and save that to whatever you set for the extracted file to save to. That process will take about 30 minutes to an hour.

Oh, and remember, only download 10 at a time to get the best chance at completing each download session successfully.

But I think we found the problem! Keep at it man! You can do it!

Is anyone else having trouble getting these files to play on their blu ray player? I downloaded the Star Wars 50gb iso. I extracted everything fine and Imgburn let me burn the ISO to my 50gb dual layer blu ray disk, but after it finished (after about 45 min) and I put it into my PS4 to test it, it wasn’t recognized. So I brought out my old panasonic blu ray player to see if it could play it and it could barely play the menu with tons of frame skips and screen tearing. I tried to play the movie and The entire thing just froze. I assumed it was just a bad burn, so I burned another one. This time on 4x speed instead of 6x as well as closing all other programs in the background. It finishes (about an hour this time) and what do you know? The exact same thing happened. Does anyone know what is going on here?

I have done successful burns before on other blu ray discs. Do you guys think the problem is these discs?

And for you Blu - Ray burning gods, should I continue to burn these discs in the hopes that one will turn out ok, or should I not even bother?

I’ve only tried the Star Wars Documentary iso yet and didn’t notice any trouble. I burned at the lowest possible speed and let ImgBurn check over the finished project at the end to make sure there were no mistakes.

Boxmonkey, I would suggest burning at 1x and enable the “verify” option. This should ensure the best burn and it check at the end that what was burned matches the source file.

I’d only try one more time though or maybe even hold off until other more experienced members can comment as those dual layer BDs are not cheap!

Agreed - try lower speeds. I bought a Pioneer BR burner last year (internal, BDR209-EBK) and some Verbatim BD-R DL (50GB) discs. Although the discs were rated as 6x speed for burning, I made half a dozen coasters at 4x and 6x speed. Once I started burning at 2x as recommended in the club.myce forum, they worked perfectly. In fact, some hardware testers recommend always burning BD-R DL discs at 2x speed even if they appear to work at 6x, on the grounds that the burn quality is higher at 2x.

I’d give 2x or 1x a go before giving up on the discs.

Always burn at the slowest possible speed.

Alright, I’ve given it another shot as it looks like my DL BD supports 2x, 4x, and 6x according to ImgBurn. So I tried it at 2x with the verification at the end (It even gave me that cute little jingle I hear at the end of Jimmy Neutron episodes) but to no avail. I popped it into my PS4, and alsmost like dejavu, my PS4 couldn’t recognize it and when I put it into my Panasonic, I was able to get the menu to function normally like the other two I burned before it, and when I tried to play the movie or go to the features, It just turned into a garbled mess yet again. Honestly, I’ve lost all faith in these discs and I am pretty much looking at the 5 I have left like worthless clumps of plastic. I also looked up the specs of my Pioneer blu ray burner, and it does in fact burn dual layer blu-ray discs. I am pretty much convinced at this point now that it is 100% the discs fault as I cannot think of anything else that could possibly give me these results. Can any of you guys point me in the direction of some other more reliable 50gb discs that are printable?

I swear by Verbatim discs. They make printable BD-R DL’s, or at least used to (I have some).

What happens if you put it back in the PC and try to play it on there via Leawo player?

.Val

Also have you mounted the iso and tried to play it on your computer to make sure it downloaded/extracted properly?

Author
Time

That’s a great idea regarding mounting the iso. If it downloaded & extracted properly, the menus should work, as should the extras. But beware that some media players (such as vlc) may not play the main movie, even though it would work fine on a standalone Blu-ray player.

Good call .Val

The Leawo Blu-ray Player is free, easy to use and does it’s job very well - plus, it’s available for both mac and windows computers. It can be downloaded from:-

and likely a fair few other places too.

Also, what does the file structure look like for the disc when you view it in your computer? I give you the benefit of the doubt that you followed the guide correctly. But when people that are new to this have discs that are completely unreadable on a PS4* (as opposed to just having issues and skipping a lot), I find that the most common reason is that they’ve burned the ISO to a disc as a file.

i.e., they will see a file such as E:\starwars.iso instead of a folder such as E:\VIDEO_TS or E:\BDMV.

*also, an off topic reminder to all of the helpful people here that when someone has this issue with an Xbox One, don’t tell them to burn another disc! They bought a machine that is intentionally made not to play recordable media. Most people don’t know that and discs are expensive. 😃
