It’s interesting that he made several hyperbolic statements since the beginning. I’m pretty sure it’s only gotten worse, but you can see the germ of the extremist viewpoints we have today.

Our country is now run by extremists who are hell bent on setting humanity onto its darkest possible future.

Why does no one get that?

Even if I were to agree, what should I do about it? What are we going to do to make sure things are better?

I don’t know. That ability to make things better has been permanently taken away from us, forever.

Well at least it hasn’t been permanently taken away from us, temporarily.

Thought experiment: How would a person feel if a drunk driver ran over said person, and the person was crippled for life, if said person survived at all?

This is what Trump has done to all of us. I am going to keep screaming as long as I want, and none of you dare try to stop me from expressing my pain.

This immediately came to mind.

Also, frevious, we’re not stopping you from expressing your mind, we’re just satirizing it. Big difference.

Here’s a book you might enjoy

Edit: I posted before seeing Jay’s post, so in all seriousness allow me to add this: you’re of course entitled to your opinions frevious, however your worldview is terribly American-centric. You’re equating the state of American politics with the fate of the universe, which is a tad hyperbolic. If Trump’s presidency is weighing so heavily on you, try changing the proverbial channel; read about what’s going on elsewhere in the world. See what other countries are doing to have a positive impact on the planet. And let’s not pretend that Trump’s actions will necessarily affect the mindset and goals of other Americans:

Lastly, to quote a couple lines from Max Ehrmann’s poem Desiderata:

the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

The US is the lynchpin of the whole Paris climate agreement. Remember how the League Of Nations failed?

GF - hopefully this goes some way to allay some of your concerns on Trump pulling out of the Paris Agreement…

http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/if-trump-actually-wanted-to-renegotiate-the-paris-agreement-he-just-shot-himself-in-the-foot/ar-BBBNXyK?li=BBoPWjQ

and also in the politics thread on here - and in news elsewhere some city mayors are saying they will honour the Paris agreement, and also some heads of some pretty large companies will too.

Obviously, we’ll have to wait and see to see if that is the case - but all hope is not lost…

(and you all get the chance to vote Trump out in 2020 😉)

If he allows us to vote by then. What he did yesterday was worse than pressing the nuclear button.

Please, somebody conquer us so that things can be good again.

There will be nothing after Trump. The GOP will control this country in a chokehold for the next 15 years. By then it will be too late; all life on Earth will be condemned to death. The universe around us will become a sterile void all because of a handful of sociopathic politicians and businessmen.

This thread needs to be kept alive.

There will be no next president. Either we will all die from nuclear fallout or climate change induced heat stroke. The former would be preferable at this point, because our suffering would end much more quickly.

Could you repeat that a dozen or so more times? You aren’t getting your point across.

Wouldn’t getting hit by a nuclear blast be the quicker end?
