So would you mind elaborating somewhat on what it is you find less than satisfying about this particular artwork? It’s an iconic scene from the OT that has been in my view, expertly recreated through art with a great eye for detail. I really cant fault it in anyway myself and simply leaves me in awe of the skill shown in creating such an artwork and in the emotion it triggers in me thinking back to the actual scene from the movie. To me, that is awesome SW artwork and I am really glad that LexX thought to post it in this thread and share it with us all.

I’m not sure why you felt you needed to go out of your way and state the fact you disagree with me specifically on this particular artwork and in the manner you did. The fact that you do disagree with me doesn’t bother me (eye of the beholder and all as I said previously) but I am wondering why you felt you needed to point it out to me as someone that does enjoy this awesome artwork and while we’re talking you might as well say what it is you don’t think is awesome about it?

You can safely just ignore Darth Id, he’s got a face tattoo on his face and I think it sometimes blocks the oxygen from getting to his brain.

It looks like one of those pastels of like George W. Bush getting blessed by Jesus while like Bill Frist and Tom Delay and shit stand in the background looking pious and proud like apostles and an eagle flies overhead with a squadron of F-15s and everything is soft and semi-transparent and totally incongruous with the militaristic subject matter.

Except that it’s none of that apart from looking like a pastel artwork. If the above is why you don’t like it though, fair enough. Not sure still why you needed to point it out in the way you did though as if there was plainly something wrong with it that I was obviously missing when it’s just your personal preferences on artwork style.

Damn, I really like that Darth Tenebrous.

I read the Darth Plagueis novel, and didn’t come away thinking of him as an all time great, nor his master. They certainly don’t match up to people like Vader or Revan.

Not enough people read the EU.

Plagueis was a true Sith; never in his life had he considered betraying the Sith so Vader shouldn’t be in this conversation. Being a Sith is far more than using the Dark Side; it’s being committed to it until the last sliver of life leaves a Sith’s body. As for Revan he has more feats under his belt and may be a slightly more interesting character but Plagueis is superior in terms of his knowledge of the Dark Side (and other esoteric facets of the Force via his midichlorian manipulation) and he did far more for the Sith Order in terms of ensuring their dominance over the Galaxy. There’s not enough of Tenebrous to really even render judgement on him.

Sorry, I thought you were basing your “all time great” thing on them as characters. In that respect, I found both Plagueis and Tenebrous very mediocre.

I was bored to tears when I started Darth Plagueis a while back. Darth Bane too. I’m interested in the lore, but I think I need to accept the fact that the whole grimdark ancient Sith thing is never going to do it for me and I ought to just skim wookieepedia for the broad strokes.

I found Plagueis’ musings to be interesting and I was also interested by his quest for immortality and how his obsession with it affected him. Other than that there’s not much to say other than his backstory is pretty cool imo.

Darth Bane too.

Darth Bane bites a guys thumb off within the first 10 or so pages of Path of Destruction…but ok. The sabacc scene was long but the clashing of ideals was interesting to read and established that Bane’s surroundings was already molding him to a being with philosophies that are akin to the Sith’s. And from there the plot really gets moving. To each their own I guess.
