I believe the commentary is from the Definitive Collection laserdiscs.

The easiest way to find out is to download the still-excellent Dr. Gonzo release, which has supertitles telling you who's talking.

Thanks for the ideas and help guys. I'm just finishing up my cover art and just need to add the guys who are in the commentary track. TR47 himself says it is ILM's Ralph McQuarrie, Dennis Muren and Ken Ralston plus George Lucas and Frank Oz. I've located some cover art which doesn't list Lucas on the track and says Oz is on Empire (which makes sense). But the original definitive collection lists Ben Burtt also on the track for the trilogy. Can't find any info for each individual film though.

Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

This seven disk set is awsome. Can't wait to get my cover art on the forum.

George Lucas, Dennis Muren, Ken Ralston, Ralph McQuarrie, and Ben Burtt are on all three movies. Frank Oz is heard on TESB only.

Laserman is right as far as the analog vs digital IRE thing is concerned. What it really means is that if the laserdisc outputs black as 7.5 IRE, whatever voltage that refers to (i almost wanna say 7mv) and you want the DVD to output black as 7.5 IRE (I do, because thats how it was mastered) then the black in the DVD must have a digital luminance of 16. As i've already explained ad nauseum, I "can" adjust it, but then George Lucas "can" make Greedo shoot first. If the goal is preserving the definitive collection LDs, thats just how I gotta do it and people will just have to adjust the brightness on their TV.

Did you use the chapter markers from the original lasrerdiscs in the end?

Any easter eggs we should know about on these discs?

Is there an option for English subtitles (other than the alien subtitles)?

Can you tell us about what was used for the Bonus Materials disc(s)?

there is an info thread on your v2 set on page 23 - hoepfully we'll get it copied to page 1 so that everyone can see the info and will stop asking repetitive questions. If you can fill in in any the gaps or correct any if the info that'd be great m8.

cheers

Sure is, same as first version. The 7 disc set also comes with 8th CDR of covers.

So the 7-disc set is 8 discs? Nice. Sorta like the 5-book Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy...

My edition of Hitchhiker's has 6 stories. "Yough Zaphod Plays It Safe" is only 10 pages long, though...

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask this, but are there made covers for Rowman's bonus features discs?
Author

I don't think there were ever any covers made for my bonus discs. People, including myself, have been storing them in 2-disc cases along with their respective movies from either the EditDroid or TR47/Cowclops trilogies and then just modifying whatever covers they are using to reflect that.

Again, this might be the wrong place to ask, but how do people here feel about the use of CD/DVD labels on their burnt media? I've always heard that it is a bad thing, but that was a while ago. Do labels still suck? Do they still peel/mess up players? Has anyone used them? Does anyone use them? Is there a kind that is "good?"

I plan on making a set of covers for these that match my "vintage cardback" style covers (once I'm done with the SE project that is )
