Bill was mishandled, just like Clara. Like, the exact same thing happened again. No actions seem to have any serious consequences, it’s very annoying. At least I (hopefully) won’t have to put up with that for much longer, with Moffat leaving.
However, I must say the World Enough and Time was great, channeling a lot of that Gothic horror. Shame the second half didn’t continue the atmosphere of the first.

Ryan Johnson’s excellent fan-made Dr Who films from the 1980s featured a superb Doctor played by a woman. No problem AFAIK.

I’m just glad Moffat won’t be writing her dialogue. He’d try to make it funny and half the time she’d be saying “Look, I’m a woman now!”. Just let it happen and write good stories again.

Since then to combat that image he kowtowed and started to introduce those elements. Nowhere in the classic series is something like this hinted at. If NuWho can’t get the Doctor’s age right, I’m certainly not going to trust it with something like this.
I’ll be watching the Christmas Special and first episode of series 11 but will probably be stopping after that. I would not be surprised to see the show’s ratings start to drop after this.

It is tired because ever since Moffat dropped in the reference to the Corsair it’s been used as the “SEEEEEE!” excuse for years now. That same episode also had the TARDIS claim it had only been travelling with the Doctor for 700 years.
The idea of stopping to watch a TV show because a woman is a main character is ridiculous to me.
In this particular science-fiction universe the species that is The Doctor has already established having their people changing genders when they regenerate…
An alien who can travel through space & time, has a time machine in the form of a 1950s UK police box, appears to be immortal, fighting some bad actors (and unconvincing paper mache / CGI monsters) along the way, has two hearts, all fine…
…now has a vagina - people get upset and say they are going to stop watching.
