The final two episodes were fantastic stuff. Much better than the prequels or ROTJ 😛

finally saw them last night, and yes, it was fantastic. The battle sequence felt like it belonged in a movie, all the star destroyers bombarding the rebels shielded base… felt more epic to me than any of the prequel battle sequences. i loved it.

IMO Season 3 has been the best season of Rebels so far. I’m disappointed Ezra’s dabbling with the dark side storyline was dropped as soon as it began, but it’s a kid’s show I guess, I really liked Ezra’s darker persona. Sabine finally lived up to to her status as a Mandalorian, and we got lots of Mandalorian content which is awesome (don’t know why everyone here is so dismissive of Mandalorians) and it looks like we’re about to get a lot more Mandalorian content which really has me pumped up for next season. I think the best way to end SWR is by having Ezra and Kanan sacrifice themselves thus lending credence to Yoda’s statement that Luke is the last Jedi.

According to the prequels and the Clone Wars you can resign or retire from being a Jedi.

My take on the Bendu: I didn’t really like the character as he pretty much ended up being another one of those “neutral” characters who only help the good guys. He called himself the One in the Middle, either meaning he didn’t draw from the light or the dark OR he used aspects of both, which makes him a bit of a hypocrite. I would have loved to see him interact with Maul but when the opportunity presented itself he disappeared.

Kanan is pretty much superfluous at this point. He’s baggage they could have shed off easily.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

My scientific appraisal is that there is a 99.9% that Kanan will die in season 4.

I want Kanan and Ezra to follow Thrawn into the unknown regions at the end of season 4 and then all of them to turn up in whatever the new show Filoni is working on that’s supposedly set between the OT and ST.

I hear you. I was curious to see what they might do with the Bendu, and it was sorta cool, but i feel like it just kinda went the easy way and he ended up dead (as dead as a Force wielder can be). Do you think we will hear from him again?

JEDIT: yes, you are absolutely right a Maul interaction could have been interesting. see if he really is in the middle.

I’m not so sure he is dead. The shot from Thrawn’s blaster left a hole in the ground, so it seems like the Bendu vanished before Thrawn pulled the trigger. Which calls into question whether the Bendu was actually physically present to begin with.

Also, I’m really hoping we get Pellaeon next season. Thrawn’s always been the kind of character who works best when paired with a Watson figure, and with Constantine dead and Kallus defected, there’s an underling vacuum that he could step into nicely.

Was there any official confirmation if we get season 4 / how many more seasons will we get?

Yes to Season 4, no word on how far they want to go.

So it’s the final season after all. OK, so what’s the new show Filloni is rumoured to be working on?

I always thought it’d be five seasons, but I can’t say I’m really surprised considering how much things started ramping up this past season. Excited to see how it ends and how everything gets tied together (and how close to ANH they get).

I , too, am disappointed this season is it. This has been a great bridge between everything Star Wars prior to 2015. It was always great to have a chance at seeing classic characters pop up each week. I’m not done with this era in the Star Wars universe yet, but I guess this and the Solo film will close the book for awhile.

Anyways, one thought I had was what if Hera is telling this story to someone as she is dropping off a very important child who has lost it’s parents, two of her longtime friends.

I’m glad they are ending on their own terms, instead of meandering on and declining in quality (Big Bang, Doctor Who under Moffat, etc) just to make more episodes. Hopefully we can have a quality season with no filler.

I am sad to see a good show go, but would rather it ended while still good. They said it felt like this should be the last season in terms of the story line, and I respect that choice.

Damn, I’m actually disappointed.

To add on to this, I’m also a little worried. I feel like there’s a lot of things to wrap up and a lot of things I’d still like to see. With this not only being the last season, but a short season, I’m not too confident. Please excuse my stream-of-consciousness ramblings;

IMO Kanan needs to die, but I don’t think they have the “balls” to do that in a show meant for kids. I’m 100% sure that even if they killed off Kanan, Ezra would survive. I think the way to deal with that would be for him to give up the ways of the force and go off into the galaxy.

I don’t necessarily want Thrawn to die, since he was just brought back and it seems like a waste of his character, but they’ll have to explain why he isn’t in the OT.

Ahsoka should’ve died, but it’s looking more and more like she’ll be brought back, (possibly as a wolf? I sure hope not) and then her story will have to be closed again. Having another Jedi/force-user running around the Rebellion doesn’t sit right with me (which is why I think Ezra and Kanan need to be gotten rid of).

I would’ve liked to see more Vader. Ideally Vader comes back just for a bit to fight Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka (if she is still alive). Vader kills Ahsoka, and Kanan sacrifices himself so Ezra can escape. This causes Ezra to decide against becoming a Jedi and opt instead to leave the rebellion and get on the bus.

Thrawn can easily be recalled to the Unknown Regions on the Emperor’s orders. It would explain why he isn’t in the OT.

At 4:24 in the video:

“You’ll see something of Ahsoka in someway again. We’ll have to see what form that takes… Reminds me a bit of what we did on Mortis…”

This may be the first thing about new-canon that I actively dislike, even hate. I really hope they don’t do it. I don’t want her to ascend to some higher plane of existence with the ability to control a wolf, I don’t want her to be reincarnated into a wolf, none of that shit. She should’ve died on Malachor and it was a mistake that she didn’t.

Just happen to catch the Lego Star Wars show the other day while flipping channels and saw that one of the main Rebel characters was featured. This program takes place between ESB and ROTJ, so pretty clear this one survives the series finale.

So, is this canon? Well, no, but everything in it fits canon. Motz explained that it’s sort of like hearing the story of what happened, but from a child.

The conversations/events, etc that happen are not canon, however, whether a character is dead or alive is because it has to ‘fit’ in the canon.
