The Original Trilogy box set releases on home video tape: 1988 to 2000…

Japan…

Some info on Star Wars video tape releases in Japan - at projectcclarke’s informative ‘Star Wars On Home Video’ reference site:-

There does not appear to have been an Original Trilogy box set release on home video before 1997 in Japan - though if anyone knows differently please post up some images and information - thank you.

There were indeed individual film releases - and also ‘set releases’ before 1997 (as pictured below; from both 1990 & 1995) - though seemingly no ‘box set’ releases…

Discussion: Little Men, Little Wars - Share Your Star Wars Collection
Time

^ a little late on the reply - apologies; there are some decent tutorials type videos on youtube for this - as well as by Star Wars enthusiasts such as RetroBlasting (who often fix / restore some of the old toys and models etc).

There also seems to be a few on ‘weathering’ various Star Wars toys and models - I have to admit the effect for look superb - and can make even a very cheap looking toy look like it’d pride of place in someone’s collection. Someone on here (canofhumdingers? edit: it was joefavs - here) they did an awesome paint job on a cheap-looking plastic toy Han Solo blaster - it looked superb, just like an expensive replica, when he’d finished it.

When I was younger (and had better eyesight, a steady hand and patience!) I’d practice on all sorts of cheap or damaged airfix models to try and ‘get my eye in’ or be ‘in the zone’ - before moving on to actual model I wanted to try and get ‘just right’. The paintings still weren’t great - but were better for the practice 😃

His ‘Star Wars Follies’ series (especially with ‘Broken Vader’) is a lot of fun 👍

exactly 20 years since shrek met its debut.
and no 35mm.
we failed the mission all thanks to the global pandemic.
now what do we have to do?

I suggest you take on board what both Mango & JonathanArthur19 have stated in the thread; especially the last paragraph of JonathanArthur19’s post above.

Patience.

If you can only have one of these upcoming series... which would it be, and why?
Time

Andor for me.

‘Some of us - well, most of us - we’ve all done terrible things on behalf of the Rebellion. Spies, saboteurs, assassins. Everything I did, I did for the Rebellion. And every time I walked away from something I wanted to forget, I told myself it was for a cause that I believed in. A cause that was worth it. Without that, we’re lost. Everything we’ve done would have been for nothing. I couldn’t face myself if I gave up now. None of us could.’

I want to see that - including the formative years of the fledgling Rebellion.

Can’t shake a feeling we’ll likely be seeing some of the unused concepts for the canned Solo sequel films adapted for this - so hopefully we’ll get to see a little more Enfys Nest, Crimson Dawn and the other crime syndicates, some scoundrels, a few likely cameos from characters the other recently announced shows… yet also many previously unseen places and new intriguing characters too.

All in that Original Trilogy style feel, look and vibe…

Oh. And eventually this guy too:

Like a leaf on the wind.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake reportedly in the works’:-

Would be great to see a full ground-up remake of KOTOR - though I’d settle for a decent quality remaster.

Modern SE Revisionism

That’s a mistake more than revisionism, though I’m not sure how it happened. The rest of the images I’ve seen (so far) are labeled as being SE.

The text of the book however, wowee.

Apologies - easy to get confused given some of Paul Duncan’s claims and inferences re Star Wars history… 😉

Genndy Tartakovsky's 2003 Clone Wars 2D Micro-Series Vintage Kenner Collection Blu-ray Cover
Time

Quality covers, Rikter 😃

I think there is a typo on the back cover - it says ‘Genny Tartakovsky’, where it should read ‘Genndy Tartakovsky’?

Always enjoy seeing the Kenner / Palitoy themed covers - takes me back to those old days of seeing row upon row of figures in the stores as a kid, and working out who to save up for and buy next… (and hoping they were still there when you had saved up enough money!)

Will you be doing other similar themed covers in the series for the ‘Star Wars: Vintage Collection’?

One of the actresses that have that presence - the rare ability to absorb you into the screen and leave you wanting to see more from them.

The Guardian has a few quality articles on her here - https://www.theguardian.com/culture/helen-mccrory

RIP Helen McCrory.
