The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **
Time

A fanditor cannot shoot new scenes and change the script, so no faneditor can change the fondamental issues and flaws of the PT, TFA and even ROTJ.

The Prequels are, in the main, beyond hope - though made better (to some extent - it’s mainly subjective) by some very talented Fan Editors out there…

As for shooting new scenes, and possibly adapting the script… [coughs…] Adywan [coughs…]

Though not actually shooting new scenes - but did add dialogue from other films or material, or recorded new or modulated dialogue - the ADigitalMan Edits and MagnoliaFan Edits accomplished that 12-15 years ago (likely some others too).

Hal9000, DigiMod & Sir Ridley have done (or are doing) some intriguing work on TFA - amongst other Fan Editors… yet most are seemingly only slight changes or personal preferences…

eldusto84 did some interesting work on R1 too, changing the the fundamental feel of the movie (whether good, bad or indifferent - again, all subjective), through centreing the focus on the more action-orientated last third of the movie.

Not saying this specific one is a fake, but I never trust images of tweets.

Nor should you mate, though I thought it quite humourous and didn’t care too much if it was real or not, this one does turn out to be real… https://twitter.com/jamesblunt (about the 3rd or 4th tweet down)

Harmy's Return of the Jedi Grindhouse edition custom blu ray inserts and labels?
Time

chyron8472 did a cool cover and disc art for it in here - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Blu-Ray-and-other-HD-box-size-STAR-WARS-covers/id/11843/page/27

There may be more artwork for Harmy’s ROTJ Grindhouse in that thread too - or the http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-RETURN-OF-THE-JEDI-Grindhouse-35mm-LPP/id/48258 too?

It’s likely worth checking out some of other quality work on here to see what you like, what can easily be cannibalised, or just for ideas and inspiration etc.

Good luck with it - and please post up in here any good stuff you find 😃

Edit - Rikter’s Disc Collection and a few other inserts and discart etc - which could possibly be cannibalised / adapted for ROTJ Grindhouse can be found in here:-

4K restoration on Star Wars
Time

Somewhat ironic, the content of the voice-over for this, the ‘one last time’, Original Trilogy VHS advert:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9077YR0t9E

"For those who remember
For those who will never forget
and for a whole new generation who will experience it for the very first time

The Star Wars Trilogy…
Three timeless adventures which changed movie-making forever.
Now, the entire Trilogy digitally remastered in THX for the ultimate in sound and picture quality.

This will be your last chance to own the original version of Star Wars…
The George Lucas masterpiece that launched the Star Wars Trilogy.

The Force is forever - for all generations

The original Star Wars Trilogy on video - one last time…"

^ maybe a new voice-over on a riff of the same advert above is required to highlight the lack of availability of the OOT for 20 years?

Y’know… for those of us who do remember, for those of us that won’t forget, and for that generation of Star Wars fans who have never seen the original theatrical versions…
