I bought my TR-47 discs on Ebay. That was long before I found this place and knew it could be acquired for free. Others are likely in that boat.

Excuse my noobiness but what is TR-47?
(I hope I’m not getting off topic.)

Info on the TR47 set can be found here mate - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/id/1364

Basically it’s a laserdisc to dvd transfer of the OT - as was the norm back in 2003/04 on here…

IIRC it was one of the first quality sets out around at that time - along with the Dr Gonzo, and the later EditDroid, IsoMix, Moth3r, Farsight sets etc…

a list of the major projects from back then can be found here (in amongst some more modern releases):-

Love the old style-ish logos for the new films - even the Prequel Trilogy looks - (and I mean looks) - better with old style logo covers 😃

Here’s a link to my collection of Star Wars posters:

It’s still a work in progress. My goal is to collect every official poster ever released, in the highest resolution possible. I think it would be great to have a comprehensive database available online.

So, if anyone has / knows where super high res or rare posters can be found, let me know!

I’ve also collected a great bunch of alternate posters worth checking out 😃

Also, maybe this already exists and I’m totally behind the times – either way, enjoy.

Very impressive mate - some nice posters there I hadn’t seen before - many thanks for sharing. Hope you find a lot more covers to come…

I’ve added your post to a list of covers and useful links etc:-

http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/A-list-of-Box-Sets-3-in-1-Trilogy-covers-single-case-sets-some-useful-links/id/53673 -

^ hopefully it’ll come in handy for others to find stuff on here etc

doubleKO also has a great collection of art/posters etc here (1.48gb-ish) - link

He also found this superb site for many different Star Wars posters / art, here at Heritage Auctions:-

Looking for Blu Ray covers for I-III that include the theatrical posters on the front

If you could put a link on here to your DeSpecialized blu-ray set (or it’s covers) - then someone on here may have / know where to find the Prequel Trilogy blu-ray covers set to match.

I uploaded pictures for you guys

Thanks - that set is very much likely by phildesfr - from this thread here - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Custom-blu-ray-setfor-the-Despecialized-Editions/id/18201/page/1

Could well be worth asking phildesfr if there are any Prequel Trilogy covers (though as Tyler0013 says, there doesn’t seem to be any for matching PT covers that set) - though he may have seen some elsewhere?

May also be worth asking if anyone is willing to knock up a set to match - there are some very talented people on here…

Good luck with it - I hope you find what you are looking for.

edit - the front of these Prequel covers with old style logos (in the main) - may come in use for ideas or inspiration etc…?

You really should see Ryan Johnson’s doctor. I know it’s not “canon”, but the woman who played the doctor was quite good, it wasn’t a joke, and it was 30 years ago. There were 4 episodes, the 4th one being the best.

Ryan has a website that can be found with a modest bit of googling.

I am intrigued - will certainly give it a go.

On a separate note I don’t get all the selective cherry-picking of past episodes to try and discredit the notion that a Gallifreyan can’t change sexes - we’re told, and have been shown, that they can change colour, age, personality, character, memory, and sex - so it’s hardly a big surprise…

Over 20 regenerations of various characters in old and new Who before Missy, not once was there a gender change not once.

and just because it hasn’t been mentioned in the earlier Who content doesn’t mean it’s any less correct.

perhaps, but if Timelords can change gender, the lack of any mention of this(and the lack of it actually happening) for over 50 years, is quite glaring.

The Doctor will be a woman - big deal.

Just like it would be no big dead if Romana or Rani changed into a man. Right.

It wouldn’t be a big deal if Romana (Fred) or Rani regenerated into a man - as previously said. Why would it?

What are you talking about with this (Fred). If Romana ever regenerated into a male and went by the name Fred, I have never heard about it.

Read back through my post on it in here - and you’ll find the answer.

I didn’t see any answer to my question in the above post and I am not about to re-read the entire thread. Perhaps I’ll google it one day.

Now, why would it be a big deal if Romana or Rani regenerated into a man?

because feminists.

For someone who is ‘done with Doctor Who’ you sure are making a lot of posts about it still.

It’s next to the one where you lied about what I said - or rather didn’t say.

Think we will ever see a male Romana or Rani?

Fred? Yes, why not?

huh?

Romanadvoratrelundar seemed to be too long a name when she introduced herself to the Doctor. He had trouble pronouncing the full name, and quickly shortened it to “Romana”, though given the choice of being called “Romana” or “Fred” she told him to call her “Fred”.

So yes, Fred. Why not?

I’m sick of everyone giving Warbler shit and even suggesting that what he is saying makes him someone who is acting like a sexist pig. He simply doesn’t agree with the change about a character and to call him sexist is completely out of line.

This is why “liberal snowflake” is a commonly used term. Your calling him a sexist for a creative disagreement over a character and their identity.

I think the only one in here to mention ‘sexist pig’ is…

I just hope Jodie Whittaker gets some decent stories and lines - she’s a talented and interesting actress - and that the series does well.

There’s that tired excuse again. This “precedent” was created after Moffat was accused of sexism and the new fangirls started demanding a female Doctor. Since then to combat that image he kowtowed and started to introduce those elements. Nowhere in the classic series is something like this hinted at. If NuWho can’t get the Doctor’s age right, I’m certainly not going to trust it with something like this.

I’ll be watching the Christmas Special and first episode of series 11 but will probably be stopping after that. I would not be surprised to see the show’s ratings start to drop after this.

Not so much a ‘tired excuse’ if it is new, no?

To me it’s all the same series - Doctor Who.

We also recently saw a Gallifreyan regenerate from an old white man into a young black woman - just seemed to be part of the Gallifreyan life.

Did it ever happen before Missy came along? Did it ever happen in the old series? We went 50 years without a regeneration causing a gender change. Moffat added that capability for PC reasons, as oojason said.

I certainly didn’t say it was for pc reasons.

The idea of stopping to watch a TV show because a woman is a main character is ridiculous to me.

In this particular science-fiction universe the species that is The Doctor has already established having their people changing genders when they regenerate…

An alien who can travel through space & time, has a time machine in the form of a 1950s UK police box, appears to be immortal, fighting some bad actors (and unconvincing paper mache / CGI monsters) along the way, has two hearts, all fine…

…now has a vagina - people get upset and say they are going to stop watching.
