A couple of neat takes on the Y-Wing design…

^ from https://www.deviantart.com/adamkop/gallery _(with a fair few other quality takes on Star Wars craft))

and as Colin Cantwell posted on here earlier this week with some of his great iconic designs…

^ Would have loved to have seen one of these in the Solo movie (as was planned at one stage).

its all about GroupThink. People feel more empowered when they can band together and point their finger at a common “enemy”.

I enjoy the Star Wars I like, dismiss the Star Wars’s I don’t, and ignore all the hate and vitriol online.

You fool! You’ll never get enough subscribers / monetise content / achieve ‘youtube fame & power’ with this attitude 😉

You must put out repetitive negative output - regardless of facts, research or balance. Misleading clickbait alongside anger & outrage, keywords and phrases which will trigger comments and ‘debate’, creating and continually highlighting differences between ‘them and us’ and gain like-minded followers… these aspects are all far more important anyway!

Be the vocally toxic / repeatedly negative online minority!

(that few outside of youtube or associated social media channels & blogs have like heard of 😉 )

SWOTFAN25 - Seriously (just for a moment)… there are some great, intriguing, informative, insightful and fun sites, blogs, podcasts and video channels etc out there - to cater for many tastes and outlooks - though probably won’t be appearing in many youtube ‘recommendations’ lists.

These days it seems the old ways of a fellow fan recommending something (like Neverar has above with sleemo.com - cheers man 😃) is the way forward for finding quality outlets that may appeal - if not for yourself, then for a friend or colleague who may be interested etc. Screams has an ‘internet rabbit holes’ thread which may be interest to some for this type of thing, as well as the ‘FAQ & Info links’ section of the ‘An Index Thread for General Star Wars Discussion’ thread.

It’s just anecdotal… though for me and other mates who are sci-fi fans… our non-youtubing, browse-the-internet-occasionally friends and colleagues - who may have a facebook page still to upload dog/kid pics… have little-to-no idea about online divisions in Trek, or Star Wars, or GamerGate, or Comicgate, or whatever else people are angry about their entertainment.

They’re likely just looking for the next Trek / SW / Marvel / new or hyped franchise content - will go watch it, probably enjoy it overall and go to the next one - all without registering their views online (well, maybe an 'I liked it, ‘it was okay’ or ‘didn’t enjoy it’ type post).

Just read it’s up for 6 Oscars - fair play and well in to Adam Driver for his ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role’ nomination. (amongst the film’s other award wins and nominations).

Info: TLJ - Caretaker village sequence
Time

I think someone did restore most, if not all, the deleted scenes back into the film for their Edit (possibly a few Editors did?) - though can’t recall which… doh!

There is a section for TLJ Fan Edits (around 20 so far) in the An Index Thread for Star Wars Fan Edits and Other Projects - hopefully the ‘Rey & The Caretaker Village’ scene will be mentioned in one of the cutlists / ideas lists (or someone else can remember which Edit(s) contain it.

Good luck man 😃

Edit: This Edit has the Caretaker Village scene restored to it - STAR WARS: Last Jedi (The Anti-Cringe-Cut), by DonKamillo; in the ‘Added’ section - ‘Deleted scene showing Luke’s third lesson to Rey (involving the island natives)’.

Double Edit: ForceGhostRecon’s The Last Jedi - Clean Cut edition also has the Caretaker Village Scene in it (or will have for v4).

Some other TLJ Edits may also have it too.

‘A hapless UN employee discovers the agency he works for is hiding a gateway to a parallel dimension that’s in Cold War with our own, and where his other self is a top spy. The war slowly heats up thanks to spies from both sides.’

Website : IMDB : Wikipedia

Some impressively absorbing tv, quality actors, direction, and premise - with atmospheric scenes slowly building up tension that ensnares you into it’s grip.

A seriously underrated series.

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * <strong><em>SPOILER THREAD</em></strong> *
Time

The Telegraph has a few intriguing tidbits from their interview with Richard E Grand and his appearance in IX (amongst other things)…

SPOILERS

"I got 10 pages of script from a Forties British war film, three scenes in total, and had to video myself doing them on an iPad. Then you send it off, and feel like you’re never going to hear anything about it ever again. I got a call two months later to say a car was going to pick me up and take me to Pinewood Studios to meet director, JJ Abrams. Which was odd, because I still had no idea what he was going to direct me as."When Grant arrived he was ushered into a room with Abrams and the new trilogy’s heroine, Daisy Ridley: "Surrounded by all this Star Wars memorabilia going back to 1977. And within about two seconds, he said, ‘Are you gonna do it or not?’ And I said, ‘Do what?’ Then he described the part, and I think he told me what my name was, at which point the room went upside down. What what appears to be a degree of physical discomfort, Grant stops himself from saying anything more. In the grand old Star Wars tradition, the entire cast has been sworn to secrecy, at least untill the trailer and title of the forthcoming Episode IX are revealed in April.

the non-spoilery bit claims… ‘at least until the trailer and title of the forthcoming Episode IX are revealed in April’.

The Last Jedi- Full Movie Re-Edit

Hey Ivan love your Chanel and what you’ve done to the last Jedi. I’d love a link to it if possible. Keep it up man. You’re a real inspiration!

There are 20 or so Fan Edits of The Last Jedi already finished and released just on this site alone (see the Star Wars Fan Edit and Other Projects Index and scroll down to the ‘The Last Jedi’ section).

Many of these Edits on here already cover some of the changes proposed by Ivan - and some of these Edits have a lot more changes too, whilst other Edits quite conservative in their changes. All Edits on here are available for free - without having to pay anyone a cent - as long as you own the official blu ray or digital download, of course.

As for conversing with Ivan - you’d likely be better off visiting him on YouTube - he only made a couple of posts here seemingly to highlight his work, then left, and then made a YouTube video about it with some strange/bizarre claims… that’s pretty much been it.

Darren Tibbles, the very talented guy behind the superb MegaMix fan-made Star Wars video released last year… is working on a new project:-

^ ‘Here’s a very rough cut from the opening scene of my Guardians of the Whills Animated Short. I wanted to show the occupation of Jedha. WIP still lots to do.’

Star Wars Books. Good Recommendations?
Time

Not so much for kids - more just some Star Wars books that help illustrate some of the revisionism, contradictions, re-writing or mis-remembering of the history and evolution of Star Wars from George Lucas…

‘The Secret History Of Star Wars’ - by Michael Kaminski. Amazon link : OT.com Thread

‘The Making of Star Wars: The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film’ - by JW Rinzler. Amazon link : OT.com Thread

‘The Making of The Empire Strikes Back: The Definitive Story Behind the Film’ - by JW Rinzler. Amazon link : OT.com Thread

‘The Making of Return of the Jedi: The Definitive Story Behind the Film’ - by JW Rinzler. Amazon link : OT.com Thread

‘Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy’ - by JW Rinzler. Amazon link : OT.com Thread

‘Skywalking: The Life And Films Of George Lucas’ - by Dale Pollock. Amazon link

‘Once Upon a Galaxy: A Journal of the Making of The Empire Strikes Back’ - by Alan Arnold. Amazon link

‘Mythmaker: The Life and Works of George Lucas’ - by John Baxter. Amazon link

and whilst not a book, the illuminating various drafts of the Star Wars theatrical film scripts, at many different stages of development/shooting the film - at Starkiller: The Jedi Bendu Script Site

also this blog ‘From the Desk of Charles Lippincott’ - by Charles Lippincott, is well worth rummaging through.

Please let me know of any more similar books (or sites, blogs, articles etc) out there for inclusion - thank you 😃

Is that for the actress or for it being a Section 31 series, mate?

If both, then surely this is in order…

😉

Got to say I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of a Section 31 series - likely more so IF there was a time travel aspect to it (a chance to revisit characters from the previous series, certain events in the Trek timeline, and making it’s own way too etc).

I do like Michelle Yeoh as an actress and her Captain Georgiou, but…

SPOILERS

not so much with the character / her portrayal as the Empress from the Mirror Universe.

Help: looking for... Recommended Star Wars Edits
Time

Hal9000 for the Prequel Trilogy, and adywan’s Revisited Edits for the Original Trilogy are the standouts / must-watch for me.

The ADigitalMan Saga Edits (Episdoes 1 to 6 and a ‘2.5’ Clone Wars) are well worth a look at as well.

There are a few other ‘which fan edit is best?’ and ‘recommend a Fan Edit?’ type threads listed in the Star Wars Fan Edits & Projects Index (towards the bottom of the index) - which may be of use / interest too mate.
