NJVC Custom Blu-ray Set of Harmy’s Despecialized Editions now available on Mega
Time

hi its Paul said:

Can some one just post the links to mega because I signed up for all of this stuff but the second one won’t let me in to get to the link to get to the files

No.

We are NOT a download or torrent site, and there are no posting of links to direct downloads on here.

Please take the time to look around the site, get a feel for the place, go through the various Despecialized Edition threads - read the guides (plural) on how to obtain them - just like many thousands of others have done so before you.

If you’re having an issue / technical difficulty have a look to see if other have encountered the same or similar difficulties and how they remedied it. If you’re still having issues then let your fellow members know the details of what the problem is… and they may well be able to help you.

Hopefully you’ll appreciate the long, hard and arduous work and effort that went into making the Despecialized Editions, supplying the step-by-step guides, making them available, the improvements made over time etc - along with the many people on here who time and again generously go out of their way to help countless others obtain them and answer any of the technical difficulties others may be experiencing.

And maybe weigh that up to your efforts to having ‘signed up for all this stuff’ and ask ‘…just post the links to mega…

Please also take the time to read threads such as the…

Welcome to the OT.com; Introduce yourself in here
OT•com Forum Rules and Guidelines
Fan Edit / Preservation Forum Rules and FAQ
‘How do I do this?’ on the OriginalTrilogy.com

as well as the About & Help sections too - they all contain helpful and useful information - which may be of some assistance…

Thank you.

Rogue One : A Star Wars Story - film & fan art, + covers etc
Time

^ Michael Pasquale, “STARDUST: A Rogue One Tribute”

“I instantly fell in love with all of the characters in Rogue One and have wanted to do a tribute piece ever since. I was really excited to see this diverse ensemble work together, not entirely trusting each other at first but in the end sacrificing themselves for the greater good.”

Some proposed changes to the categories in the Star Wars section of the OT.com...
Time

The General Star Wars Discussion section of the OT•com has grown into somewhat of an unwieldy beast over the past few years (5000+ threads) - especially with the addition of the Anthology films, Sequel Trilogy and animated tv series of late…

Given the forthcoming & future Star Wars releases - the Rian Johnson Trilogy, Weiss & Benioff Trilogy, The Mandalorian, a Cassian Andor series, a new season of Clone Wars, and likely even more content from the GFFA on the way - the moderators are considering splitting this part of the forum into more relevant and discernible categories.

Likely something akin to the following…

• General Star Wars Discussion
• Original Trilogy
• Prequel Trilogy
• Sequel Trilogy
• Beyond the Main Saga (ie, Anthology films, animated & live action tv series, future RJ & W&B content, Holiday Special, & Ewok films)
• The EU (ie, books, comics, games, soundtracks, music & radio dramas, cons & events, memberships)
• Theatrical Cuts vs. Subsequent Releases
• Toys & Memorabilia

Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Edit: it turns out there really isn’t enough traffic / threads / talk on the Prequels and Sequels to warrant their own sections. Though a combined forum (along with some of the other GFFA releases) would likely be the way to go, and see what happens from there…

Jokes thread : Reloaded
Time

A man was sitting reading his papers when his wife hit him round the head with a frying pan.

‘What was that for?’ the man asked.

The wife replied, 'That was for the piece of paper with the name Jenny on it that I found in your pants pocket.

The man then said ‘When I was at the races last week, Jenny was the name of the horse I bet on.’

The wife apologized and went on with the housework.

Three days later the man is watching TV when his wife bashes him on the head with an even bigger frying pan, knocking him unconscious.

Upon re-gaining consciousness the man asked why she had hit again.

Wife replied. ‘Your horse phoned’

dahmage or the markdown posts? 😉

I don’t think there’ll be a filter for the markdown posts mate - though I usually delete them when I come across any.

Hopefully there are a fair fewer markdown syntax posts than before.

Please feel free to point out any still on the site and I’ll do my best to get around to deleting them (other than the markdown posts in this thread 😉 )

Proof of Lucas’ revisionism in Rinzler’s making-of book?
Time

^ Nice find RogueLeader 😃

The Original Trilogy Discussion Index Thread (in the ‘Archival / Historical discussions’ section) has a few threads featured on Lucas’ revisionism / re-writing of history / some of the contradictions or maybe mis-remembering events… depending on your point of view 😉

I’m not sure if midichlorians are mentioned specifically in there - though seems likely they would be (somewhere)…

^ Edit: there is now a 'Midichlorians (+ the failed retcon attempt of them ‘having always been there’ in the GFFA, & their invention for the Prequels)’ section containing several threads on the subject in An Index & Help Thread for Original Trilogy Discussion.

There are a few OT•com threads on some of Rinzler’s books (and also zombie84’s ‘Secret History of Star Wars’ book) which may feature the topic too?:-

The Secret History of Star Wars : ‘Now Available In Print’ thread : AudioBook thread

Making of Star Wars (New Book) Discussion

Making of Empire Strikes Back (the book) thread : Heilemann’s thread on the MoESB book

Making of Return of the Jedi (the book) Thread

Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy (the book)

Of interest…

In the Star Wars novelisation, originally published in 1976 and titled as ‘Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker’, the author wrote this about ‘the force’…

"Kenobi nodded. "I forget sometimes in whose presence I babble. Let us say simply that the force is something a Jedi must deal with. While it has never been properly explained, scientists have theorized it is an energy field generated by living things. Early man suspected its existence, yet remained in ignorance of its potential for millennia.

“Only certain individuals could recognize the force for what it was. They were mercilessly labeled: charlatans, fakers, mystics—and worse. Even fewer could make use of it. As it was usually beyond their primitive controls, it frequently was too powerful for them. They were misunderstood by their fellow—and worse.”

Kenobi made a wide, all encompassing gesture with both arms. “The force surrounds each and every one of us. Some men believe it directs our actions, and not the other way around. Knowledge of the force and how to manipulate it was what gave the Jedi his special power.”

^ by George Lucas (author of the 1976 novelisation of Star Wars).

Anyone know of a site or blog, book or detailed article (or thread or post), cataloging the various point-by-point details on the subject of Lucas’ revisionism / re-writing of history / some of the contradictions or maybe mis-remembering events?

It’d make for an intriguing read - and a welcome addition on here given many of the changes to the history of Star Wars films over the years - given the somewhat contradictory reasons as to why from George Lucas himself…

Dark Legacy - an Unofficial Star Wars Story by Anthony Pietromonaco’…

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gKpJy3bzaw - a 12 minute video at the Anthony Pietromonaco youtube channel.

More info at https://www.starwarsdarklegacy.com

An engaging watch, with references to Sith thinking and culture, and also some top choreography - along with emotion and an unpredictability to the fight scenes. Very well done overall - a quality production; I hope they do more releases in the future.

I also think veering off too much and you have a SW indie film that a lot fewer people will want to see.

But would probably be infinitely more interesting. I’m probably in the minority here, but I would love to see a Star Wars story done on a smaller scale. You don’t need $200 million to make a good Star Wars movie.

I’d like to see more stories on a smaller scale - a short series of one-off specials - maybe the coming Disney+ service will make this more of a possibility…

(and it’s not like Disney or Lucasfilm are amatuers at maximising revenues (blu ray sales, tv rights, toys, books & comics, merchandise etc - and of course… ‘growing the brand’ 😉)

Games you want to see remade
Time

Desperate Housewives, eh? You surprise me every day paja 😃

Shadows Of The Empire would be great.

GoldenEye (N64) - it’ll likely never happen due to the licensing complications involved - but an up-to date release of that would be superb (with additional levels and multiplayer options & possibilities).

(and much kudos to the people who made ‘Goldeneye X’ and ‘GoldenEye Source’ etc)

Knock it off lads - thank you.

M0bi0us0ne - please try following HanDuet’s The Ultimate Introductory Guide again, and if you’re still having issues then give him a heads-up - see the Feedback section in his Guide. (Countless people have - and will - follow this guide to obtain the Despecialized Editions, so if there is an issue it’s best to let the relevant people know).

You may wish to consider trying solkap’s thread here, for an alternative way of obtaining the Despecialized Editions:-

NJVC Custom Blu-ray Set of Harmy’s Despecialized Editions now available on Mega

Rubbing people up the wrong way - who are in a position to help you - probably won’t do you many favours on here.

Good luck with it.

Thanks for the help oojason!!!
Unfortunately I get error 403 on the link you posted

Likely a glitch in the matrix 😉 I’ve edited the original link so hope it now works - if not, try this one mate:-
