“Han Solo.”
– Kylo Ren
I’m open to particular implementations of particular lines for Ben Solo, although the existing quiet for him works well. Any line wedged in there would need to feel worth breaking the silence.
And I’d say I’d leave it up to whomever wants to work on the milky eye removal. If that person sees fit to give her Sith eyes, fine. If regular eyes, fine. And if that person also wishes to add a flash of Sith eye during the flash of snake teeth, that’d be okay, too.
Also, sherlockpotter, did you stitch the very end of the “I am all the Sith” shot onto the end of “no match for the power in me”? If so, bravo, because I can’t tell unless I’m reverse engineering it. lol
In the interest of shuffling this thing a little closer to completion, let me regather some thoughts and ideas that are unresolved.
Has the “you probably don’t recognize me because of the red eyes” 3PO scene redub been pursued past hashing out potential lines? That little cluster of related changes seems to hinge on whether that 30 seconds gets nailed or not. (Fortunately, those small handful of changes stand or fall together and the rest of the R&D has basically been done by this point so we have both options.)
Who can remove the milky eyes from that one super short shot of Rey on the Sith throne from the vision? We also talked about adding classic Sith eyes when she appears on the DSII, although I don’t think it’s necessary and would be happy with just axing the milky eyes. (“Oh, no, she’s going to turn 140 like her grandpa or something!”)
Is ‘Captain’ Hux being worked on? Is it just the one line from Kylo that would need to be changed?
Sherlockpotter, is the “I am a Jedi” line about where you feel totally happy with it? Please send it to me once it is, preferably as a single-channel so I can mix it in.
Is the “that’s not even a language” scene finished, or still in progress? Axlanian, please sent me what you end up being happy with and I’ll nail it down.
Anyone up for carving out a replacement for the Vader Castle shot on Mustafar using the ‘Biomes’ short? While the existing one is still very good in my book, I think about anything anyone can do with that material will be at least as good. Could be as simple as cloning one of the TIE fighters to make it three and use that portion of the shot.
I think there’s only a sequence or two left. It’s definitely coming together.
Jar Jar occasionally babysat Leia on Alderaan before dying in the explosion.
At school.
Hal, did you already add your Wilhelm Scream into the film somewhere? Because otherwise…
It’s in there, somewhere….
Just the start of it and it cuts out quickly as the shot changes. It’s an Easter egg. Y’know, for the fans!
Or scream “NOOOOOOOO” as he falls into the Infinity Pit.
Now we’re talkin’.

Though you might want to avoid watching this edit when it’s done unless you are resigned to port more changes to Restructured 😉
I take this warning seriously.
Whoa, nice work! I know I’m late in congratulating you but that’s really cool.
I stand corrected; blue is right.
I love being able to get a better look.
I’m looney to be thinking this, but would it be easy to make his saber green instead? Could be a subtle way to suggest the events tapped into the existing mythicism surrounding Luke, as people conflate it with his presumably famous green saber.
Just an idea, not even a suggestion! I really love the way this looks. I never knew TROS would give us something this nice.
I really don’t see substantially modifying the culling and arrival of the civilian fleet.
And that could work with Sith voices lingering and whispering, maybe. Like I said, I’m open, but aren’t actively pushing the idea!
Thank you for reminding me!
You could! Would be fairly simple and could be a good learning exercise.
Most people around here prefer Shaw, and I personally have no desire to present the Hayden ghost in ROTJ.
Shit, I noticed there’s an unfortunate audio error. During the little added snippet in which Sebulba used his vents on Anakin, the center sounds come out of the right side.
I’ll have to do an audio-only fix and reupload. Mercifully it’s just the audio stream that’ll need changing.
Even the DOTF ending doesn’t take the story much further than ROTJ, and certainly no further than pre-TFA events.
Maybe that’s the point of the trilogy: nothing’s ever final and the cycle will play out. You can despair or fight anyway.
Maybe a falsetto one too, cuz y’know… species.
Anyways… since Dat_SW_Guy appeared to drop his project of extending the ending of the film due to either personal/technical reasons on his end, is this still being considered and/or has someone decided to try working on this?
The scene being the Falcon going into space above Tatooine so the end song can end a little more triumphantly before it cuts to the credits.
My stance is a general openness but I don’t feel any need to modify what’s already there, which I like a great deal.
It’s cool there’s 500 pages, but we really don’t need to add to them with stuff that isn’t important or irrelevant. We aren’t going for a polesitting record.
And thanks, oojason.
I disagree categorically. I don’t consider any fan edit “definitive,” unless for me personally if I adopt one as such. They are inherently derivative and alternative. If that’s your concern, rest assured I’m not secretly supplying Lucasfilm with a master copy to overwrite the original.
And I don’t imagine going with layered dialogue for Palpatine for the entire movie. But I’d be open to considering using it in certain moments. Or maybe not at all, of course, but that’s the beauty of all this work. I kinda like the ambiguity of the Sith thing, and this would sort of channel it through a straightforward presentation.
I really doubt anyone would ever notice, and it’s plausible it’s just another scene of their show by that point.
And about the Palpatine voices. I wonder if that’s just a little much to cram into the scene. I like it, but it could be confusing, resolving an ambiguous thing about Sith consciousness at the eleventh hour.
