Why don’t I do this, once Nev can send me the footage: export a version that puts it in full context and then see if anyone can add TIEs that more or less match the audio.

And Mustafar will most likely include Biomes footage to replace the repurposed Rogue One footage. Nev is spearheading, and fast tracking some work for this project.
Jeez, I can’t pretend to know how you’re feeling about all that. I’m really glad, though, that this has been a positive experience or distraction and hope it can continue to be.
Finally got to implement the “I am a Jedi” scene, using stuff from sade1212 and sherlockpotter.
For the audio, I ended up using Sade’s, as it balanced better with the 5.1. If CaptainFaraday can send me what he’s got I can compare it and see what can be done with it. But if not, what’s in there at the moment is pretty good to my ear and sensibilities.
Also, once Nev finishes his work on Mustafar’s establishing shot with the castle, I’ll be in a position to ‘sync lock’ the edit and output master audio. This will let myself and others get to work with subtitles (which I have been keeping up to date as I go, but need verifying), German and Italian language audio tracks, chapter stops, etc.
So that’s it, then? MR is dropping out of the project? 🤨
What? No, he’s just saying he wished he’d been able to finish his own project by now but due to hardware failure it’s impossible. He’s gonna see if RogueLeader can open his project files and limp through some of the crackly saber FX that remain.
RogueLeader is a unit. In any event we all appreciate the effort in trying to work with it in AE.
And MR, I understand if you’d like to keep that VFX for yours. As I’ve said, it’s not something I find essential to have, nice as it is.

Interesting ideas, but it seems it’d be a little too much to pull off with merely audio changes. However, I think a ‘minimal changes needed to make Rey remain a non-Palpatine’ would probably be the way to go for the alternate cut of Ascendant.
What do you think of the sample clip someone did of the hanger scene where Kylo Ren tells her she will kill Palpatine and take the throne. Essentially, Palpatine wants her dead because he sees her as a dangerous threat to overrule him.

Sherlock managed to get the “birth of her son” thing pretty darn seamless so that’s done too. He also just got me the bits and pieces needed for the “I’m a Jedi” moment, and I just need to mix it and what sade1212 did to finish that scene up.
The Leia wayfinder scene just had a little trim to remove her line “No,” and Rey’s response. It just felt right when Sherlock presented it to me.
The crackly saber effect is likely going to be the final piece to be installed, unsurprisingly. I have everything post-Kijimi already, thanks to Luka Frik. But, MR has encountered hardware failure that dovetails nicely with a lack of employment that spells a good waiting period for the remainder. Unless kewlfish re-emerges or other help unlooked for.

Just updated the OP. Nothing dramatic, just bringing the inventory in line with the present.
Things are certainly closing in on a V2 release, with the biggest holdout (in terms of both scope and shaky ETA) being the crackly saber FX.
I’m trying to complete the final promised effects for both projects so that they’re done around the same time. I have a deadline set for the first week of November, but this edit’s basically done so now it’s just getting the Ascendant shots done and sent to Hal.

No, just the biomes opening and Rey’s eyes in the vision.
What about her eyes when she flares her teeth? The yellow eyes could flash up when she does that.
I’m so indifferent to that idea it hurts. If Nev genuinely feels like doing it ill include it but I really don’t care. Taking care of the inexplicable milky eyes is the main concern on my end.
That said, this TFA project is gonna be something real special. 😃
lol, yeah, red welding marks to match his helmet. The ape creature can even be seen starting to come out of the ship in that shot, and be in the background during Rey and Ben’s final scene.

Let me just mention that, in the interests of future-proofing and preservation, I’m going to attempt to export my projects into ProRes and add them to my Drive so others can access and even use them. FCP7 will not run on whatever computer I get next, so I don’t want things to hinge on an old computer continuing to work forever. This resolution follows a vain attempt to virtualize an older OS.
Rogue One is there now, and hopefully the others to follow. The ST shouldn’t be a big problem, but the prequels may or may not be possible.
Add a card to episodes 4-9’s credits saying “Eternal Gratitude to Rick McCallum”.
Remove Carrie Fisher’s in memoriam credit from TLJ so the Platonic viewer of the series won’t be aware that her appearance in TROS is artificial.
