Yes.
Yes.
That change has always been unimportant. Thanks in part to poppasketti we’ve just got an embarrassment of riches.
What if Jedi Rocks reverberates through the bar on Kijimi?
I just installed toadies into positions of overseeing the poll, so we might be able to give it a repeat.
I’ll be checking IDs to make sure you don’t want to vote for the TIE, though.
That still only counts as one vote.
Nice.
Maybe I can audit the prior poll and talk about it long enough that I can just convince people I won.
The clip itself is available on the Drive, and will continue to be, but I can’t justify an entire alternate version and 60GB of data just for that one brief difference.
Truthfully, I kinda regret leaving it open to a poll, as I prefer the shuttle! But, I chose to do that so I will honor the result.
hello guys, i was absent from this thread for while, can u update me of what things still need to be solved and done before a new version of the edit can be relesased? thank u
See the OP.
It’s a lot easier to get excited than to do the work, but I’m with ya on that. 😭
JEDIT: That’s how the forum apparently translates the ‘sad winkie face. Like this ; (
I certainly wouldn’t consider it obsolete, but I appreciate making available what you’ve already completed.

And FWIW I haven’t seen a crackly saber effect from you, kewlfish or Luka that I thought anything about other than “wow that’s amazing I’m glad to have this.” So, I’d personally take something you don’t feel is flawless over nothing.

No AE experience either, but I can imagine doing the same with FCP7 by “reconnecting media.” Or at worst, manually realigning the clips to match the position.
I’m grieved to hear that news, I’m so sorry.
Would you be in a position to export what you’d already done, as far as the crackly saber goes?
And I didn’t post that bc the criticism got to me, just reflecting on it. I’m quite used to it as well.
It would also imply that his red, crackly saber is the first that he built himself, highlighting his incomplete skills or lack of total maturity.
That’s beautiful, man. If it weren’t for the future EU I’d do that in a heartbeat, and maybe for some that wouldn’t be a concern.
Certainly not for this project, anyway.
I honestly haven’t been keeping track of that, but I’d refer to the general ‘Rey Nobody’ thread. My only plan is to check in there once V2 is finished and see how things are at that point.
I’m sure I looked at this same thing way back, and found that it doesn’t seem possible to smoothly excise the line, given the footage available.

I’m sure I won’t be alone in that! Looks great so far, and that’s super kind of you to tackle.
And of course it needs to be about as sharp or blurry as the rest of the image so as not to stick out.
Fan edits are things other people find if they want to find them. Again, I get why someone would be sensitive to things that come across as fan complaints.
I was searching Reddit for posts of mine in order to relist download links and came across something nearly a year old in which someone tore through this project’s changelist to demonstrate how the author is reactive, doesn’t understand the film’s meaning, and essentially making the edit to complain. (I get why fan edits of SW put a poor taste into the mouths of some, I really do. And I could imagine such a change log reading that way if that’s what one assumes going in. On the other hand, if the original film had shown the Force ghosts and we worked hard to paint them out, I’m sure the conversation would be the same but merely inverted.)
Anyway, he raised one point that I think is useful to consider here. He said Poe doesn’t seem to respect or care about the Final Order fleet until Kijimi is destroyed. And that the civilian fleet has no reason to rally without this event.
Poe does seem to care, a great deal, so I’m not sure where that idea comes from. And the fleet arrives because… there’s more of them than the FO censorship has allowed to be apparent, and the legend of Skywalker has had time to have an effect compared to how the end of TLJ played out for the Resistance.
Eh, nevermind. Once again typing in this thread on my phone has functionally replaced walking or driving while thinking about these things. Ideally, any of these fan edits could be evaluated fresh, without assumption. But at the end of the day, the only target audience can be an alternate universe on opening night and not existing people who do or don’t want things to be different. A film that exists on its own, even if only hypothetically, rather than some sort of polemic.
