ADigitalMan's Guide to MPEG2/AC3 Editing
Time
When I demultiplex in woble and in DVD lab pro, the audio is always out of sync for ROTS. It gets gradually more and more out of sync as the movie goes on. This is because the audio file is a tad bit longer than the video file. Do you know why this is and how to fix it?? No matter what I do, this always happens when I try to demultiplex and compile to DVD.
Thanks!

Can anyone do a transition for me?
Time
Hey sorry to make another request thread, but this may have to be the last one!

I need someone who can generate good video transition effects. I want to remove the scene where Anakin and Padme talk about politics at home, this one:
http://www.freewebs.com/kirkshelton/badscene.JPG

I want to go from THIS shot...
http://www.freewebs.com/kirkshelton/scene1.JPG

To THIS shot:
http://www.freewebs.com/kirkshelton/scene22.JPG

If possible, I'd like the transition file to encompass both shots in their entirety, to make sure I can plug it in correctly. And if it's just as easy to do an audio transition at the same time, that'd be great too.

Anyway, kudos to anyone who can do this favor for me! I haven't used transitions for any of my other deletions or additions... but this one is the only one that sticks out in an ugly way when I have a hard CUT.
Thank you!

Saving DVD menus
Time
After I'm through editing the actual films themselves and have the files done, is there a way I can burn them to disc with the official menus?

So that when you put them in, the "real" menus come up, but hitting play takes you to my edit? (I assume you can disable the rest of the buttons, and possibly only have one "location menu" per disc.)
Thanks for you technical wizardry!

On Christianity
Time
I'm a Christian, which is something we become by faith and not by anything else.

There's evidence of our creator all around and inside us. Analyze the human heart for a minute, look inside yourself to your deepest desires. It is my belief that our desires were wired for God. We were made in God's image, so He is our definition of 'good' and we naturally need him. So we are faced with a choice, to "drink" from God or earthly things. That's the nature of addictions... we try to dull the desperatly painful need for God with earthly things and depend on them.
It's fascinating to me to see that maybe the strongest evidence of God is in our own design. Check this out too:
http://www.tasteheavennow.net/understanding_yourself/understanding_needs_home.htm

The only way to be truely humble is to just admit and accept that God is God, not us. I don't really like arguing for or against God's existance, because people will hear what they want to hear. If we don't soften our hearts and keep them hardened, and "push the truth away from ourselves" then we won't be able to believe the Truth.

It is not blind optimism, we have a wonderful hope. I think it was Paul who wrote that if these things were NOT true, that we would have wasted everything and would be the most hopeless people in the world. I agree!

God cannot be a subjective thing that we can all interpret the way we want to. He is objective, as is his word and his Son. All other religions, near I can tell, are human's attempts at reaching upward to grasp God with their own humanity and achievments. The message of Christ is the opposite, it's something you couldn't have predicted! God's display of grace, and bloody sacrifice for our sake. To pay for OUR sins and fill in our weaknesses with his strength. But if you set your heart to disbelieve and cling to earthly things to fill your heart, nothing will make you believe. It is an act of the will.

By the way, we ALL sin. None of us can deny it, it wasn't just Adam and Eve. They were the first!

The legendary "Starkiller Ranch" Thread
Time
I haven't looked in this thread until today, and all I have to say is WOW!

What a great edit this will surely turn out to be.... and of all six even.... wowowow!

The Neimodien voices sound nice, but not when I watch the Passion of the Christ again I'll keep picturing them. I don't know if there's such a thing as "audio-morphing", but if so couldn't you morph one or two foreign language tracks and use them?
You could 'morph' the audio from English, Spanish and German for example. This would not be recognized as any language that we would recognize, which is what we need. And plus, it's all coming from a "Star Wars source" too.

I love the Maul/Grevious idea. We've all speculated, but you guys are actually going to tackle it. I love the idea of even having him in a scene in AOTC. And Count Dooku talking to Qui-Gon? BRILLIANT!

Needless to say, I will check back frequently and keep my eyes out. This will be a great alternate saga.

THE FAN EDIT CONTEST HAS A WINNER !!! REVIEWS IN OFF TOPIC FORUM
Time
I don't know if I will be able to get my edits in time for this contest or not...
Even if I could, it would have to just be prequels-only at this point. If I hold out for some more raw materials, the OT would be a lot better. And we want that, of course.

The only edit with drastic, major changes to it is AOTC. Among other things, I completely removed the droid factory sequence and replaced it with the two deleted scenes. And I even seamlessly removed R2 and 3P0 from the arena battle. It flows so much better!
