Just watched the documentary, and am very impressed! Completely enjoyable and informative. Bravo, and I'm looking forward to watching 'Jedi' as well!

Very impressive. However, the black levels look pretty bad at times.

And I do like the idea of blending several different histograms for a more balanced color overall. Good luck to you in the future!

I just had to reinstall my operating system and now when womble tries to export, it is extremely slow. In three minutes, eight seconds were encoded. Anybody know why this is, and how to fix it?

Maybe you could try putting the Yoda deleted scene in between the birth scene and funeral, so that it's not as abrupt a transition.

I can play them normally in a DVD player or even on the computer.

It will read it perfectly fine until it gets to the end, in which an error message appears. On one disc, it always stops at 17%.

Unfortunately, no. I don't know why but I can't get the DVD onto my computer at all. This happens for a few various 'home-made' discs.

An odd question to anyone who might know...

Some burned DVDs like my or other edits won't be read by DVD Shrink or any other program used to get it onto the hard drive. Somewhere in the midst of analyzing the disc, the program encounters an error.
Anyone know why this is? It's preventing me from retrieving some short video and audio clips from past attempts at editing, as well as a certain scene wipe from Slumberland's edit. Thanks!

I just might not, we'll have to see about it. So far, it looks like "my" ideal OT set is two discs each:

ANH:
Disc 1 - Darth Editous
Disc 2 - Vintage Edit

ESB:
Disc 1 - Darth Editous
Disc 2 - Vintage Edit

ROTJ:
Disc 1 - Darth Editous
Disc 2 - Vintage Edit

There might be a few things I can tweak for myself but not enough to justify distribution, since all it'd be is modifying someone else's version. So to answer your question, I don't know at this point.

Yes, the snippet in Order 66 would remain. And I am definitely cutting Yoda's farewell.

I'm torn as to whether or not I should make this alteration to ROTS. I wanted to collect others' opinions before proceeding.

I am already removing Yoda's tearful farewell to Chewbacca and Tarrful. What I am considering is removing the Wookee battle sequence that follows the council meeting.
Because I am adding the three deleted scenes about the rebellion, I can replace the battle scene with one of these scenes.

Pros:
The Wookee stuff isn't even in the novel, it just has Yoda go there.
The novel has the scene I'd insert in the same place I'd insert it.
The Wookee battle was bad CGI and cheesy.
I'm already deleting the later Wookee scene where Yoda leaves.

Cons:
We don't get to see the Wookees in a battle.

What do you all think? I can go either way, and want to know how this change would be received. Thanks for your input.

I have a question. Did you leave in little things like composite fixes and matte line removal? Or is "laserdisc" footage used for them too?

This sounds like the BEST trilogy project yet on these boards. Hoping you do ANH as well!

P.S. If you want to make torrents of these, please make them dual layered.

All I can say is I can't wait for someone to get this down pat and be nice enough to make the footage available.

Things like these are the reason why I'm waiting to edit the OT, because so much better source material is always cropping up.

Can't wait to see this perfected.

Perhaps someone could do some fancy editing to make the Shaak Ti deleted scene look less like an animatic and put that into the film?
Might help to give Maul/Grevious a more sinister edge like Maul in Episode I and less like a coughing wimp like we see in III.

You could have a crawl that would fade out at the end rather than pan down into the episode itself.
This sounds like a fun idea for an edit.
