Sounds like him, not an inspired delivery and the test will be how it sounds baked in. It’s on my list of things to do next time I’m in there. Thanks so much.
I like those Luke lines! Could the AI be directed to deliver the line slower? Not that it would necessarily, but as though it could lead directly into, “Final lesson… some things are stronger than blood.”
And I think those Leia lines work well, further linking her efforts with Han, since that is what he told Ben when they spoke in TFA.
😃
I agree with JJB here about a line for Ben. Silence from him isn’t conspicuous to me, and having him appear as a spirit at the end is all that’s needed. (But without his appearance, it really felt missing; like, did he not make the cut? Is he in Jedi Hell?)
I bet if they had this tech during the development of TROS they would have used it. Ethically speaking, I’d say using this is justified if it helps a project achieve its artistic vision, particularly if it serves as a way to honor an actor that passed away.
I can’t remember: were you no longer interested in Leia saying “Come home!” to Ben when she reaches out? It would be a difficult line to sell but I still think it would be doable.
If you would like to workshop a line like that I’d be open to considering it, but it’d really depend on how it sounds and feels. Not a bad idea at all, and I don’t enjoy saying no when something you work on doesn’t quite seem to fit perfectly, to no fault of yours.
Also… do you think the Luke AI voice could be made to say to Rey, “Final lesson”? I think that would let us pay off the “three lessons” from TLJ without a clunky number that could feel jarring. And it means that from here on out it is Rey being sent off to fulfill her destiny with all that she needs.
Thanks for pointing out the pop. I’m not necessarily planning to revise TLJ but I’ll note it for if I ever do.
I get that. I think these AI lines are highly subjective because we know that’s what they are. Normally one could appraise it as like “this like in its original context was like this and here it doesn’t fit well.”
Those are really nice. Thank you.
I’d welcome any second attempts you’d care to make. The two used at present are “he’s too dangerous,” and “a Jedi needs her weapon.”
No.
I’d like a link also!
Just donated $15. I saw this movie many times in the theater and these images just feel right for this movie.
I picture Luke’s face from the moment in TLJ as he aches while hearing Yoda confront him with bitter truths often when reading existential material.
Perhaps that makes more sense for the Rey Nobody version.
Thanks, man!
I don’t think the AI voice is strong enough to carry three dramatic lines in a row like that, lines that aren’t strictly necessary.
But I’ll see how that Poe line sounds, to replace “heads up.” Won’t affect sync anyway.
I recall that too. Did anything ever come of it? It’s not something that cries out to me but if I’ve forgotten something I’d be glad to be reminded.
Not sure. I’m just worried about the main version for now, and I don’t know what other Rey Nobody ideas that team may present. But just as before, once they hand me whatever they have I will bake it in and release that as well.
I hereby declare V3 to be ‘sync-locked.’ While I won’t rule out minor tweaks that do not impact audio/video sync, the timeline overall is locked into place. This allows me to chip away at all the things that remain to be done and get this to release.
And once that’s done, pretty sure that’ll be it for me and the Sequel Trilogy. Pretty happy with how it all shaped up, all things considered.
Awesome. Has the changelist been finalised?
Added ‘Sith Eyes’ to ‘Evil Rey,’ including replacing her milky eyes for one shot (FX by Burbin)
Reinstated previously cut dialogue as the heroes reunite at the Resistance base, replacing the term ‘lightspeed skipping’ with ‘lightspeed ramming’ (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
New dialogue for Poe during the briefing scene establishes clearly that the Final Order fleet consists of modified ships from the Empire, rather than implying they were built from the ground up later on (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
Added two short, unobtrusive new lines for Leia to Rey (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
Added new dialogue for Kylo Ren during his ‘ForceTime’ duel with Rey to provide a more focused retcon of TLJ and make it explicit that Rey’s parents paid Unklar Plutt rather than selling her (AI provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
Replaced Kylo Ren’s line “I never lied to you” with “You were right” for more intuitive and precise continuity with TLJ even as the scene retcons it. In that film, it is Rey herself who supplies the information that her parents “were nobody.” (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks; voiceover provided for prior versions by poppasketti)
Altered Kylo Ren’s line to, “We’ve become a dyad in the Force,” which feels like it builds on TLJ’s ending (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks; audio used in prior versions from sherlockpotter)
Replaced the obtuse reminder while working on the Falcon that 3PO had his memory erased in the form of a line wishing they had an R2 unit to help (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks; audio provided for prior versions by Chase Adams)
As 3PO has his memory restored, he no longer implies this was Rey’s very first mission, as it either has or will surely be retconned by ancillary material (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
The FX for Leia’s now purple lightsaber has been color corrected to look less pink during sequences on Exegol than in prior versions (color correction by Burbin, FX by Skenera)

I’m sorry, but I genuinely prefer the old version of “and I will be your protocol droid.” Its animated tone fits much better with his movement in the shot and carries a sense of 3PO being happy to be of use. Gotta go with my gut.
Every time I turn around you’re expanding this project and turning out new material like it’s nothing!
You are a maniac.
I’ll bake it in next time I’m in the chair and see if I feel strongly about it after doing so!
I honestly prefer the original, or at least am used to it and didn’t feel it needed replacing. It’s a bit more animated.
Can’t say I’m married to it though. Anyone else have a preference?
