The silver lining here for me is that none of these things affect A/V sync.

I’ve avoided anything other than whole numbers to describe updates so far, so I will just refer to it as V4, even if it’s small. This project out of all of them is most deserving of getting it right.

EDIT: Meaning getting the AI voices right, not the Version number.

Just put out a V6 update to ESB, intended as final for the foreseeable future. It’s nothing dramatic, just tweaking the new Boba Fett dialogue slightly, reverting to the SE version of the Cloud City balcony shot, and using Adywan’s addition of the bunk on the Falcon seen in TFA.

That’s ESB and ROTJ nailed down to where I am very happy with them. Now, whenever TMWNN finishes his 2011/2020 hybrid ANH source material, I can quickly and easily update ANH as well.

Not entirely, no. But even if it literally were, if audio changes are controversial an alternate track solves the problem nicely.

I wouldn’t say it’s too late. Just depends on if it ends up being substantially improved. The biggest opportunity is Poe’s briefing lines.

Wish I’d have thought of doing an alternate audio track without all but the necessary AI lines. I mean, of course I still could, but I’ll sit on that for the moment.

Technically retconned so Rey has it as well meaning it debuted with her, to explain her vision as she touched the lightsaber in The Force Awakens.

To me that feels like a random vision rather than a new power, and it’s never used again or talked about. Then again a bunch of stuff in TFA was never brought up later so who knows.

Well, Rey senses the dark history of Ochi’s dagger when she discovers it in TROS as well.

Fair points, and I tried to minimize throwing in AI stuff that didn’t address existing problems. Leia’s lack of on-point dialogue being one of them, sorta.

What do you think of Poe’s AI lines in the briefing? I hope that to an unsuspecting viewer it would read as ADR that maybe wasn’t a dead match. Like an older movie. Like Star Wars even. Ultimately it serves a more important plot issue we created. And after a while it’s hard for me to guess how it’ll sound to someone who wasn’t agonizing over it in a NLE.

Just released a V6 of this project which is intended as close-the-book final. It uses a new LUT from skenera for a much better color correction, and fixes a couple audio and subtitle issues.

I am still unable to upload to the google drive, but I will once I am able to again. Anyone who nabbed V3 of Ascendant, this can be found the same way.

Edit in a loop of 200 hours of Luke training with the remote aboard the Falcon, to match Han’s ETA of that amount of time.

Well thank you! I’m limiting the scope of this for going forward, just leaving certain doors open but aiming for bringing the series to a state of completion as outlined in that post.

Goes without saying, but I so appreciate the community that’s let this come to be. That includes those who made all those prequel edits back in the day and the spirited effort the past several years around the sequel trilogy. And obviously the titanic efforts at preserving the OOT, which plays into my efforts too.
