Okay, tell me how this looks. Hope that fixes it, because I’m not sure what to do otherwise!

Okay, I see it now. It changes to be more yellowy right as he lifts his mask.
Not sure exactly what can be done but I’ll check it out. Thanks.
PM sent!
Also, I still don’t see anything funny about Luke’s saber in that scene. To make sure, do you see the same thing in the original TROS?
Here are the subtitles for anyone who wants them:

Yes, and I sent them to Spence. I don’t think he’s included them in the edit itself yet, so if you’d like I’ll put a link here tomorrow to them.
I believe it is a deliberate effect on the part of the filmmakers, imitating the flicker of the practical/optical effects used in the OT. You can see the sabers flicker in this way across the ST.
I guess nothing important will ever take place in an EU novel, since they’ll want to save that for the screen.
I’m all right with this idea being developed here, but I don’t want to insert a Vader line on Mustafar for Ascendant. I’d rather the scene play out wordlessly (with the barely perceptible added “Find me” chant) until we get to Palpatine himself.
I’m sure JEJ feels the same. It’s something I was willing to politely overlook since he’s obviously much older than when voicing ANH.
We’ve got a ways before Andor’s final season, so I wouldn’t update this project before then anyway. But yes, worst case we take up a small collection to commission him. We got time.
He responded to me already, expressing that that particular scene was commissioned and so it doesn’t really belong to him, but he could recreate it if we wanted to hire him to do so.
So, RL, seems very possible he could spruce up that ROTJ edit I know you’re clamoring for!
As for this scene in RO, I’ll plan to reach out to Star Wars Story and see what he thinks for now. Again, I don’t feel a huge need to do this, as it is genuinely JEJ himself in the role for likely the final time.
EDIT: My joke doesn’t work without the spambot post that was removed.
That’s a great impersonator! I’d be hard pressed to overwrite actual JEJ with an imitation, though.
Eh, maybe alternate audio? I don’t know if the guy would give permission but doesn’t hurt to ask.
When I do that, it just makes it the same relative difference as I started with. But with this slight clipping of the original line there is less contrast with the new AI line.
Again, translations are welcome, as this is a line I wouldn’t trust to an AI translator:
“You’re a ghost, in a rotting clone.”
je bent een geest, in een rottende kloon
Beledig me niet! Je bent een geest, in een rottende kloon!
This is exciting stuff. Hal, do you have a list of the V3 changes on hand?
Added a line for Kylo Ren calling Palpatine “a ghost in a rotting clone” (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
Added ‘Sith Eyes’ to ‘Evil Rey,’ including replacing her milky eyes for one shot (FX by Burbin)
Reinstated previously cut dialogue as the heroes reunite at the Resistance base, replacing the term ‘lightspeed skipping’ with ‘lightspeed ramming’ (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
New dialogue for Poe during the briefing scene establishes clearly that the Final Order fleet consists of modified ships from the Empire, rather than implying they were built from the ground up later on (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
Added two short, unobtrusive new lines for Leia to Rey (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
Added new dialogue for Kylo Ren during his ‘ForceTime’ duel with Rey to provide a more focused retcon of TLJ and make it explicit that Rey’s parents paid Unklar Plutt rather than selling her (AI provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
Replaced Kylo Ren’s line “I never lied to you” with “You were right” for more intuitive and precise continuity with TLJ even as the scene retcons it. In that film, it is Rey herself who supplies the information that her parents “were nobody.” (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks; voiceover provided for prior versions by poppasketti)
Altered Kylo Ren’s line to, “We’ve become a dyad in the Force,” which feels like it builds on TLJ’s ending (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks; audio used in prior versions from sherlockpotter)*
Replaced the obtuse reminder while working on the Falcon that 3PO had his memory erased in the form of a line wishing they had an R2 unit to help (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks; audio provided for prior versions by Chase Adams)
As 3PO has his memory restored, he no longer implies this was Rey’s very first mission, as it either has or will surely be retconned by ancillary material (AI voice provided by Jar Jar Bricks)
The FX for Leia’s now purple lightsaber has been color corrected to look less pink during sequences on Exegol than in prior versions (color correction by Burbin, FX by Skenera)

Can anyone translate for subtitle purposes?
Thanks, everyone. I’ll mark this as a ‘someday’ thing.
That was fast! The idea is to get a better delivery than what Lucas got from Morrison for the 2004 revision, where it sounds like he phoned it in (probably literally did) and is not menacing like the original actor was.
Those lines are fairly bland, but could the AI be given direction? Perhaps, “speak slowly, menacingly drawing out the words”?
Would anyone be up for attempting to use AI to generate better takes of Temeura Morrison’s lines for Boba Fett in ESB?
I can play around with that and see. Might give it just slight ‘telephone’ effect and see if it helps the new AI line fit in. But I downloaded your latest clip and think it’ll probably be our best bet for this idea.
Not unless you want it to no longer have the gap space between “you” and “give me”. It would be a very quick reading more than likely.
I don’t mean recreating that line with AI, just flattening the existing line from the movie so that it sticks out less against the AI line that is right before it.
Could the original delivery of “What could you give me” be sort of flattened a bit so it does not stick out as much more dynamic?
Give it a bit of reverb and drop the volume a tad and it may be seamless.
