That certainly sounds worth waiting for. Just know Ascendant is ready when you are.

No worries; this sort of minutia is rewarding for its own sake.
In the world of semi-actualized ideas, is there anything concrete as an update in the ‘Rey Nobody’ department compared to what made it into the alternate version of Ascendant V2? I’m about ready to update the main version to V3, and I could certainly plug in the ‘Rey Nobody’ bits and pieces from V2 just fine. But if there’s been development since, I’d obviously want to be current.

The subtitles for the prequels (episodes I and II) are as close a match to the theatrical subtitles as I could manage. Do you know whether the theatrical version used apostrophes like that?
Unless that’s the case, I don’t want to change the subtitles given that they’re meant to emulate the theatrical. (Plus I’ve already laid down the absolute final reissue of my episode II edit and it’d conflict with it.)
It certainly seems right for ol’ Spence to end up with prequel fan edits he’s happy with. Best o’ luck.
A new Phantom Menace fan edit in 2023! I feel like I am going insane. (But once I release the final update to my own later this year, hopefully, I can recover and kiss the ground.)
- Some sequences in the third act are re-ordered to stay with certain events a bit longer. I also used the famous L8wrtr structure where Anakin saves the day by blowing up the ship, which allows Padme to capture the Viceroy.
Fixed that for you. 😉
When the civilian fleet arrives in TROS, use a shot from Rogue One to depict a previously unknown Death Star arrive along with them.
The German audio track
Just waiting on one last thing, then very shortly after that. I’m right up on the time estimate that the other person gave me, so hopefully not very long.
I can kinda see that. I felt during my initial viewing that it was trying to be clever and I didn’t trust it during Luke’s final stand. So many backs-and-forth about what’s happening. (I still think RJ put a small spot on the sun so that we might think Luke sees a ship coming to save him.)
When the little alien girl greets Rey on Pasaana in TROS, she asks her for a dollar.
“Oh… I don’t have one.” Smiles firmly but awkwardly
Okay, tell me how this looks. Hope that fixes it, because I’m not sure what to do otherwise!

Okay, I see it now. It changes to be more yellowy right as he lifts his mask.
Not sure exactly what can be done but I’ll check it out. Thanks.

Also, I still don’t see anything funny about Luke’s saber in that scene. To make sure, do you see the same thing in the original TROS?
Here are the subtitles for anyone who wants them:

Yes, and I sent them to Spence. I don’t think he’s included them in the edit itself yet, so if you’d like I’ll put a link here tomorrow to them.
I believe it is a deliberate effect on the part of the filmmakers, imitating the flicker of the practical/optical effects used in the OT. You can see the sabers flicker in this way across the ST.
I guess nothing important will ever take place in an EU novel, since they’ll want to save that for the screen.
I’m all right with this idea being developed here, but I don’t want to insert a Vader line on Mustafar for Ascendant. I’d rather the scene play out wordlessly (with the barely perceptible added “Find me” chant) until we get to Palpatine himself.
I’m sure JEJ feels the same. It’s something I was willing to politely overlook since he’s obviously much older than when voicing ANH.
We’ve got a ways before Andor’s final season, so I wouldn’t update this project before then anyway. But yes, worst case we take up a small collection to commission him. We got time.
He responded to me already, expressing that that particular scene was commissioned and so it doesn’t really belong to him, but he could recreate it if we wanted to hire him to do so.
So, RL, seems very possible he could spruce up that ROTJ edit I know you’re clamoring for!
As for this scene in RO, I’ll plan to reach out to Star Wars Story and see what he thinks for now. Again, I don’t feel a huge need to do this, as it is genuinely JEJ himself in the role for likely the final time.
EDIT: My joke doesn’t work without the spambot post that was removed.
That’s a great impersonator! I’d be hard pressed to overwrite actual JEJ with an imitation, though.
Eh, maybe alternate audio? I don’t know if the guy would give permission but doesn’t hurt to ask.
