I question whether it’d be a good thing anyway. But… while I wouldn’t ask anyone to (and sincerely don’t have a strong preference), I can’t imagine not using it if someone did (and it was good).

I may not care about it, but if someone did enough to execute it effectively, fair enough and I’d use it. I would even do the audio. Maybe adding in some Kylo Ren-ish crackling throughout. Not all the time nonstop but where you’d expect to hear it in movie parlance.

I guess we could use the original hyperspace establishing shot, then interior, then Tatooine. Their continued conversation can fade out as we fly by Jawas.

The ST doesn’t have any sex or gore. The PT has Anakin and Padme and Anakin burning alive. The OT had romance, Leia in her slave outfit, charred skeletons and blood when an arm is cut off in the Cantina.

Hux should be shot in the head with a graphic explosion. And maybe when Kylo Ren picks up the Wayfinder on Mustafar it shows him a psychic vision of boobs.

I imagine the Falcon interior could be placed after the establishing shot with the Jawas. Or before that, but yes I agree that should remain. We don’t need arrivals on planets to be any more abrupt.

Could be. That shot would need to be the new start of the sequence, immediately after Palpatine, whether hyperspace or no.

And yeah, I don’t wish to remove Klaud but I think it’d be cleaner that way.

We start a kickstarter to hire Weird Al to record a Van Halen cover so that as Rey and company arrive at Burning Man, we hear a diegetic performance of “Pasaana.”

If the Falcon chess scene is moved to the end of the movie, it gives something of a tangle with Klaud.

Either the earlier scene begins with “hey Klaud hows that air conditioner coming,” or with the better starting point of Poe in the cockpit directing things. The shot of the Falcon heading toward the iceberg could be extended to serve as the longer, take a breath establishing shot that the hyperspace shot used to provide. Without that initial intro of Klaud or his continued presence in the lightspeed skipping sequence which I will not feature, he’d be too weird to have just in what’s left. I guess he could still appear at the end as a weird rando for Merry to hug, though.

Since krausfadr has removed Klaud anyway, that material can be used to just cleanly remove him.

JEDIT: Sorry, looks like krausfadr removed him via editing rather than FX. I know there’s someone out there who has, so perhaps that could be obtained.

Nothing. I think it works not to use an analogy, but DOTF’s “suffocate” could juxtapose nicely with the “spark.”

Good revision. I feel the need to try to modify the clause about the rising tide of dissidence, maybe an analogy that doesn’t seem at odds with that of a spark. Not sure about ‘fabled’ either. I guess it’s time to bust out a thesaurus and get into the weeds.

And I agree with Dom. I don’t think any of the possibilities are phenomenal so I guess I err on the side of leaving it alone and decry liability.

I’m sure Rose died offscreen after the previous scene. Maybe add her ghost… surprise Force user.

The Resistance base in TROS is now on Alderaan.

I don’t think it works, good of an idea as it would have been in production. But I think it has to be accidental, as it was with Chewie, or its too much of a deviation for the remaining footage to feel congruent.

Just my take on it.

As nice as this is, I wouldn’t end the Saga on character centric theme. The Force Theme, as overused as it is, is perfect because it’s universal within the Saga.

I disagree, I see it as important for the forward-looking nature of the ending. We’re used to the force theme with the binary sunset, but now it’s Rey’s turn.

+1. It’s the perfect end theme to juxtapose with Rey Skywalker.

(Seriously if this annoys you I’ll stop talking about it in your thread. I just think a Rey nobody edit isn’t really a Rey nobody edit if she’s still Rey Skywalker in the end.)

It doesn’t bother me. But I don’t see how that’s a punchy line to end on if her identity wasn’t an issue throughout the movie. I just don’t see myself going that route, but I’m know for conservative edits.

Personally, I don’t think the line “you wanted your parents dead” works. It implies plotting, not an instinctual reaction. Why plead with them to come back? Having Rey deliberately kill them really casts a weird light on her character overall.
