The shot of Wedge splits up the two shots I’m planning to use for the battle cries, so I’m planning to select one instance of “For Skywalker” during the first shot, maybe mixed with other phrases people may send, then the second shot will have the rest. Some will be more prominent than others in the mix. They’ll all be in the center channel, but I hope to include everyone who send me something, even if it’s hardly audible.

And to sneak in “I’m naked! Heehawhahaww” from Thumb Wars.

To be clear: the squeaky wheel scene has finished audio, but would need video cleanup and puppetry removal to be usable. Keeping this sequence isn’t super important, but it’d be nice to slow the hell down for a second or two.

If the chess scene is moved, any FX shots to remove Klaud from the opening would be welcome. But, he can stay if needed. He’ll just be some weirdo in the doorway and get to appear in the end celebration.

And yes, Kef Bir has been made into Endor already, so the Star Destroyer over Endor would need to be made into Coruscant (or at least something else).

I probably will stick with “Rey Skywalker,” but I love idir_hh’s recent alternate version of it. The sky would just need to be made to match the film footage.

And yes, please send me more civilian fleet audio! Just record anything to serve as a ship check-in like “This is the Stale Poptart, reporting in” or “Purple Monkey Dishwasher standing by.” Record any sort of comm chatter or battle cries you like, and a delivery of “For Skywalker!” Best part is that, since it’s all going to be over comm, it’s okay if the audio quality is absolute shit!

To be honest, I don’t get it. What am I looking at? Luke in a ghost realm? I wouldn’t want to see that. He can phase in and out of existence as needed, I don’t like the existential implications of existing like that 24/7 forever.

Hi there. FWIW, I’d say the thing to be cautious of here and at FanEdit.org is any perception that you’ll be doing anything commercial related to fan editing. It’s kind of a prime directive sort of thing: it’s there to protect us and make this whole thing safe and able to go on.

If you ever pursue FX to remove Klaud let me know, since removing him may be an incidental support to being able to move the chess scene to the very end of the movie. (Making the scene at the start in need of starting after Klaud’s proper introduction, so removing him from the remaining shots would be cleaner. But I don’t really want to remove him were it not for this other change.)

I really like that alternate ending! The sky doesn’t match, but perhaps that could be touched up. I like how… candid it feels, with a medium shot rather than a closeup, and at a slightly odd angle. Feels like something GL may have done.

And I see nothing at all wrong with Falcon shot option E. 😃

The civilian fleet is already present and prominently visible while Palpatine electrocutes the sky, so that might make this idea difficult.

Unrelated: Palpatine’s eyes appear to positively glow yellow as he’s electrocuting Rey, despite occasional slight shadows across that part of his face.

When he rejuvenates himself they’re also very bright. I wonder if they could be darkened somewhat to appear that that’s just what his eyes look like, not that his brain is a floodlight.

I believe the current idea is having the people identifying themselves and rallying each other through a voice-over comlink, shouting “For Skywalker” and other stuff like that, with the audio provided by forum users.

Well, that’s the whole movie for you… I agree though if it can be done well.

And I’m not sure how stretching Palpatine out would go, but I like having the movie just get it out of the way.

Agree 100%. But I won’t be trying to keep Ben alive in this edit. Having his ghost appear at the end to hit the redemption message home, so we at least don’t suppose he’s working his way through purgatory or something.
