Yeah, I was thinking about sneaking in a not-audible “I’m naked! heehahawwhaw” 😃

Copy that, Red Rooster.

And yeah, despite it being the original idea, reducing “For Skywalker” to just a couple voices is probably for the best. It might be better to even tone down the alien battle cries about Skywalker somewhat at the end.

And I can’t tell, did you maybe shift around the last check-in before we go to Lando? As it is in that clip it sounds like, and very well may be, the same female voice saying two things in close proximity. I think what was there before sounded more like a phone recording and was a markedly different voice. (I’m using my work computer’s speakers though, so I could be wrong.)

(Gotta go, can’t let the man know what’s up!)

From Google Drive? It should download it just as the files, or maybe as one zip file. Try extracting the first zip file and see if they all unzip into one folder with the contents.

And I’m sorry, but I don’t know why your player is having trouble interpreting how to display them. Maybe those two lines of pixels are enough to make it think it needs to stretch to fill? I don’t know. 😕

jonh, I want you to send me some audio. You need to be included in this. It can just be a simple “Ship or crew or person name standing by”. If it weren’t already a ship name with crew to recognize I’d say “the Ghost” would have been perfect.

Poppasketti, FWIW (and I’m afraid the finer details may elude me), I like Option A’s trajectory and lightspeed jump but E’s little boost of the engines partway through. But I’m happy with whatever consensus emerges about the shot. Both are incredible.

Thanks to all with the audio submissions and getting appropriate effects onto them. We’re taking a liberty to expand them to the left and right channels rather than just the center. I like axlanian’s, as he kept my line placements more or less. Personally I don’t want to open with a prominent “9000 crew standing by”, not only because it’s my voice but because it’s a little too meta. So the line is there but it’s a bit buried. Could also be confusing, as though the whole informal fleet is being referred to as the ‘9000 Crew.’

So, the “For Skywalker” line had to be pruned, so further submissions should be check-in’s or other chatter.

And since it came up in Dom’s thread, in my head the primary version of this project will retain Rey Palpatine. This will be the conservative style that has served me well. But, I plan to release a Rey Nobody edit, perhaps at a later time, once that idea is completed by whomever, with an eye toward Dom’s project.

Worst Edit Ideas

Subtitles for a mute, invisible character that none of the other characters know is there. He introduces himself as such in the first scene of TPM, and dies of an invisible head explosion during the final scene of TROS, which is explained by a second character who comments on this and then explains how he was also there the whole time but didn’t choose to speak.

With any luck the scene itself will just have his dialogue in the center channel. Can you send me the raw lines for now? If I get the chance I’ll see how it sounds.

JEDIT: Even though the prequel edits are over with, I need to ask.

Any idea of a better line for 3PO than, “I think I’m getting the hang of this flying business”?

In Ep1, I replaced “I can assure you they will never get me onto one of those dreadful starships” with “I hope never to end up on a mission of that nature.”

And in Ep2 I replaced “I’m not worried, R2, it’s just I’ve never flown before” with “For a mechanic you seem to do an excessive amount of thinking.”

For Ep3 I couldn’t find a slam dunk replacement so I imagine it just sounds like 3PO has settled into being a chauffeur.

This probably isn’t helped by having all the chatter on a single channel, but that’s how comm chatter has to be.

I’ll reduce the overall volume of content here before tossing the whole idea, even if severely.

I think the real goal here is something like StarTrek: First Contact did, an inaudible undertone with, small clearly understandable “vignettes” in one of my favorite scenes of the movie:

Yes, that’s a helpful example.

Idk how this was done, but I gotta say it looks like the best of both worlds when it comes to the force Ghost issue. This one is obviously a bit over done, he looks like 90 rather than 45 (also wow why did they have Sebastian Shaw playing him, I know that the prequels we got were very different to how they were imagined based on what we hear and see in the OG trilogy but still, he was even older than Alec Guinness) but toned down a bit I think this would work as both Anakin being the man how died on the DSII and link back to the prequels as Shaw just doesn’t resemble him at all.

Did either of you actually read my comment? This fixes both issues and makes for a very pleasant compromise.

Its not like Shaw even looked like himself under Vader makeup so either way you’re asking the audience to draw a connection based on context rather than what the guy looks like.

Someone who was 1 when they were filming should not be in the movie.

I mean, to be fair, Ady is adding new pilots to the movie, some of whom I’m sure were pretty young when the movie came out. I’m personally fine with Shaw though, despite the weird age difference.
