I do believe I’ve reached a point of having gone as far as I can do, with the current slate of ideas, until receiving materials from others. (And just updated the OP to reflect where we are.)
I was able to get the execution and underground scenes into shape tonight and add music to 3PO and R2. Starting the music right as 3PO wakes up from the memory restoration lets it end as the scene shifts back to the other characters and is a subtle way to include it. There should be some quiet moments with no music right after Yoda’s theme and the X-wing.
Oh, right, I still need to plug in the Palpatine music Cinefy sent me for the soul sucking moment. Okay, there’s one thing left for the moment!
Interesting… I’ll have to play with those. Maybe the gray one could work. Is it intended for pretty much everything on the planet: overworld, underworld, etc.?
Ideally it’d be great to include, but it just seems like it may be more trouble than it’s worth. But I don’t really know since I don’t do that kind of thing.

I really like having a brief dip into DOTF during the DSII duel. I think it’d be better to take that and sort of quit while we’re ahead.

Well the puppetry stuff, mostly. In order to remove the bulk of it from the shot facing Rey from the front while DO rolls back and forth, it must be zoomed to the point of presenting pretty rough. It’d need to be… processed in some way. Upscaled, smoothed, or something I don’t know even.
Would it be better (or even doable, because lol I don’t know how to do this) to not have as much of a smoke trail?
Fair. I think if the idea is to telegraph some time gone by, showing them begin to head in a direction makes sense. It’s not terrible for his flashlight not to make a sound.
Much appreciated. When I looked through earlier it seemed like the dialogue was going to be hopelessly mixed with the blaster sounds. If I can’t get it myself I’ll ask for audio maybe.
Anyone already have any good metal clink sounds? Right now Poe’s flashlight makes no sound as he tosses and catches it since I’m trying to keep the full shot while removing the beginning of the conversation at the end.
I should be able to emulate it, so there’s no need for a high quality! Thanks, though; I like that a great deal. Helps to take a look at work already done when I can usually only make brief guerrilla strikes.

Has anyone whose removed the Finn secret thing found a good way to remove their talk while about to be executed? It happens right up and through the false shots.

I’d be okay with removing the confession thing as long as it’s reference underneath the sand can be handled in a way that is not jarring. Cutting abruptly to Poe leading the way with the flashlight is.

I’d feel better about removing the un-explicitly-resolved Finn secret if it can be removed without making the underworld scene feel weird.

Following the second workprint, here’s everything still needed at this point from others. If certain of these are received I can get to a point of locking down sync of the edit and be able to get other things ready to go. Again, I hope to expedite this in order to avoid it being stuck in limbo once the Fall hits and I have even less time to put toward it.
The yellow lightning was meant for a ‘Rey Nobody’ version, to distance her from Palpatine, with the added meaning of her saber being incorporating or accepting her shadow. But the majority opinion seems to be that blue is better, even for that alternate version.
Related: For the regular Rey Palpatine version, should Palpatine’s fingers crackle when we first see them? Might just remove it in both versions. Why make it any more obvious than it already is when Rey shoots lightning what the reveal is gonna be?
