What I mean is that the audio needed for that moment will not conform to the existing video track, requiring me to essentially manually replace each clip in the TFA timeline and do more than it’s worth. And it would all be to do something to actively detract from that moment.
I agree with you, which is why I tried it. It didn’t work very well and it would require me to do a lot of work to rebuild TFA’s video stream because doing it at all requires adjusting sync. Even so, the moment felt very underwhelming.

I think it’s about time to finish up with cover artwork. I remember seeing awesome cover artwork months ago, but I think it still needed some of the details to be filled in with text. If we can get that completed and get that to me, it’ll be one less obstacle to getting V1 out in the near future.
Burbin is working on subtitles in, I believe, English, French, and Spanish. I’ll get chapter stops generated, and try to record a commentary track (probably split across two sittings after everyone else goes to bed).
Copy the workprint to your own Google Drive, and then copy it again within your Drive. That should be enough to fool it into bypassing the limits.

That’s all right, but let’s curb Hobbit talk here. I don’t think I’d like to do a 2-film version since there’s no good footage to contrive a satisfying ending to film 1 without picking one of the first two films’ endings.
Yeah I had to fade the initial audio out quickly without compromising the TIE sounds too much. Perhaps having some tie sounds carry over slightly to the cockpit shot may help, too.
Here’s another pass at that scene. I just added some music from earlier in the scene, since sadly that sequence is not featured in the OST. It’s not a great fit, but hopefully this can smooth out the dropoff in music.
I’ve been thinking of doing that. The problem is that I just don’t have much I can identify to improve upon the Maple Films version!

Can’t help but agree; I’ll see how it sounds with just “what?” and nothing more.
And I gotta say: I am genuinely surprised by how much BETTER this newer computer performs than either of my previous two Macs. It’s only 3 years newer, but MAN. Even booting into my old hard drive to run Sierra, things are dramatically more fluid. I can actually… use FCP7 and FCPX like a human being. Like, it actually… plays things back in a way that lets me see and hear what’s happening.
It honestly makes me want to find some other fan edit project to work on now!

I would have liked for Ep9 to follow TLJ’s lead in Rey’s identity as she would forge ahead with building herself up as the heir to the Jedi. However, if they want to have her struggle with inner darkness, I think TROS on its own as a film benefits more from having a Palpatine lineage than what it would be if we removed it via fan editing.
Arguably, though, I took the opposite approach to handling ROTS by undercutting a dramatic punch for continuity with ROTJ. But even then there are both versions available.
I like the “what? how?” moment personally, and it was one of the choices in the voice pack. I thought it was less on the nose than “oh, that’s not fair.” I think it’s good to have the KoR say something on Exegol because that’s the only time in the movie that we hear the vocalizations that axlanian and krausfadr worked to match (as they get beaten).
That’s the KoR getting beaten, not axlanian and krausfadr. I’m pretty sure they weren’t under any duress while working on that.
The official explanation doesn’t make that better, because the Force skipped a generation or something. For just the movies, though, sure.

Well, once I have the components needed to complete a ‘Rey Nobody’ version I will stitch them in and release it. But the process doesn’t seem to be complete yet.

The KoR voice project had different options for dialogue, so I just picked the ones I preferred. And some I didn’t use at all.
The ice wall audio is super tricky and convoluted. But I will revisit it again and see if there’s anything else I can do. Knowing that it sounds like the music drops out helps! Perhaps dropping in a little bit of music that halfway matches would help.
