Han Shoots First - Any valid reason to not have Han shoot first?
Time

I used the original version of the scene for my ANH project, mainly because Greedo shooting first is a total fuckup.

I did emulate the subtitles pretty well using Harmy’s and Catbus’ projects as reference.

I decided not to replace the flash frame of the Greedo dummy with a better looking frame from earlier, as Darth Editous had done, because I avoided non-harmonizing-OT-and-SE changes, though I wonder if that one might’ve been better to do.

One thing everyone can agree on is Greedo got SHOT. You don’t see blasters do that kind of damage very often. Greedo’s brothers (Slotho, Envio, Prideo, etc.) had to have a closed casket funeral. His childhood friend, Walz, committed suicide from grief.

The Best Star Wars Books?
Time

If I was going to recommend books to someone who has never picked up a SW book before but was interested, here’s what I would suggest that doesn’t require much shoehorning into the current canon.

Revenge of the Sith novelization: THIS is the definitive backstory of the OT. Puts the film itself to shame.

Darth Plagueis: Cool story tying the prequels together

Master and Apprentice: Wonderful exploration into the Jedi religion, and more interestingly, the strain between spirituality and dogma; I really enjoyed this one for that.

Splinter of the Mind’s Eye: It’s good! It has historical value, too.

Shadows of the Empire: Fun story between ESB and ROTJ

Glove of Darth Vader series and Dark Empire: Glean what you may from the source material for the ST.

The Approaching Storm: For people that enjoy being bored

Bloodline: Remedial ST context

I, Jedi: It’s good, and a glimpse into the post-ROTJ EU without breaking your tether.

Labyrinth of Evil: Pretend its early 2005 and get into the hype headspace.

Phantom Menace novelization: It’s pretty good, and you learn Dooku’s true age.

The Secret History of Star Wars: Wake up, sheeple!

Star Wars Episode I Scrapbook: Nostalgia

The Visual Dictionaries: So good

OT Choose Your Own Adventure books: Hopefully you’ll get farther than me on your first read. I got killed by sand people on Tatooine after the very first decision.

That and a very subtle tweak when we see the Vader helmet to hint at the Emperor’s theme.

I don’t plan to do anything else about it. I’m okay with it being that way, as any left turn hints would maybe feel weird and sort of weirdly anachronistic. It’s like the OT having twists that have dubious retroactive buildup. I dunno. But I’m okay with TFA like we got it. It and TLJ have a couple subtle hints that weren’t there before.

The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)

Just so everyone knows, I’ve got some all-consuming business to keep up with in my personal life so I won’t have a lot of time to dedicate to going about this. I will still release V2 and the Rey Nobody edit, even if it takes time and ‘the right day’ here and there. I also hope to get the slight revision to TFA out the door.
Thanks for your understanding. I do the easy part, but you all are keeping the project going and I know V2 is going to be incredible for it.
