For TROS:A I’d love to add just the modified RO castle shot and add the castle over Kylo’s shoulder. I wonder if the RO shot could even lose the red glow, as though it’s just dead and static inside even?

I agree. That ought to be enough to sell it, even if more elaborate work that probably would be overkill would be better.

I’m not at all ruling out a shot of Vader‘s castle to open us up on Mustafar. However, I think at worst it would be just fine to have the castle show up in the background. I think that’s a good inclusion even on its own.

For the Rogue One establishing shot, I think it’d almost need to lose the lava flow to fit in with how the location is portrayed as healing or growing trees now. If there can be chinks or pieces crumbled off, even better. Now, I don’t know if that’s even possible to do. But if it is, I think that may it really feel like it belongs in the scene. We’d follow three TIEs from space and through a couple establishing shots and onto Kylo.

The castle doesn’t need to be seen with forest around it, but I’d feel better about it without lava.

EDIT: I just looked into the castle on Wookieepedia, and noticed it’s located on the Gahenn Plains. Made me smile.

Great discussion. I think I’d prefer not to reuse stuff from Rogue One. I think having the castle in the distance would be a fun piece of dressing for those who remember what Mustafar means in the crawl, and not distracting for anyone else.
Movies Remastered, that looks perfect as far as I know how to tell.

I imagine people editing the Thrawn trilogy to fit in with the ST. Or things like the Han Solo Trilogy to fit in with how the Clone Wars ended up being portrayed.

I recall hearing that in TROS, they intentionally keep Luke’s right hand concealed within his cloak. Not sure why; of course he doesn’t have a robot hand as a ghost. Right?
