I have, but they proved trickier (for him and thereby me) than originally supposed. They don’t quite match and for the most part the entire full shot would only be achieved by piecing the two together.

Yeah. Anyway, here’s everything on my radar for V2:

• Add Vader’s Castle to the opening Mustafar sequence (seems like it’ll be the work of 21C Peasant and Movies Remastered - ongoing)

• Add two shots featuring Coruscant to the Star Destroyer conference room scene (thanks to Poppasketti)

• Remove line “from the Southern shore” from 3PO’s translation, as that was when a protractor was involved, and now it’s merely a coordinate followed by mystical guidance (not super necessary, maybe)

• Possibly remove Rey asking, “What?” when Finn formerly started saying he had something to tell her in the sinking fields (I forget who pointed this out - haven’t zoomed in to investigate for myself yet)

• Possibly restructure the space battle opening slightly like DominicCobb, but I need to zoom in and consider it

• Can Rey’s mother not mention her name? We all liked the idea that Rey named herself, per the X-wing helmet’s Aurabesh translation in TFA.

• Use the crackly saber effect courtesy of kewlfish and Luka Frik

• If it comes to fruition, use RogueLeader’s idea for Rey’s saber to fizzle out as Kylo gets the better of her during their duel on the DSII.

Certainly won’t be the only instance of fast paced editing like that, but I didn’t notice it.

To be fair she looks a lot more like who I was thinking of during the one shot in which she appears in TFA. And that assumption was powerful enough by the time we got the deleted scene that it didn’t get challenged.

Ideally we’d go from the opening shot with the TIEs heading toward the Destroyer in space, then the castle shot with the inner glow removed, then TIEs heading across the woods, then Kylo.

Thanks, RogueLeader. I think that’s about it. I did look at the scene and I wasn’t able to make it much more similar to Exegol than it already is. The red in his mask is an interesting idea, but it may be weird for an first time viewer. Either way, I’m happy with this version and am ready to call it final.

I didn’t see anything else to really do in the name of cohesion, anyway. Both movies have a couple small hints toward Palpatine, but there’s nothing else I see to do.

I’d be all for that.

I’m okay with what’s here, and don’t want to remain on the hook for TFA or TLJ. I don’t really even want TROS to be able to lean back and take too much of a piss on them, either. I’m happy with how the fan edits turned out and wish anyone sincere luck who’d like to alter them further.

Hadn’t thought of that, but I agree that it need not pose a problem.

Also, V5 is mostly a glitch-fix. And mostly in the interest of finding something to change, I borrowed from NeverAr to remove the holochess cameo. Otherwise it’s the same as V4. The impetus was the video glitches; I didn’t want to leave things that way.

I’d say TM2YC as an individual is more deserving of that distinction for that project than I with mine. In other words, if TROS:A were to have won it’d have been because of you all.

Hey also V5 is up. I fully intend this as final. I feel good about TFA: Restructured and reiterate my gratitude for the help in realizing that original idea.

JEDIT: ALLOL, I just looked up pictures and yeah… she looks nothing like who I was thinking of. I am guessing I heard someone refer to her that way around the time of TFA’s release, and assumed it was true.

I did emulate the subtitles pretty well using Harmy’s and Catbus’ projects as reference.

I decided not to replace the flash frame of the Greedo dummy with a better looking frame from earlier, as Darth Editous had done, because I avoided non-harmonizing-OT-and-SE changes, though I wonder if that one might’ve been better to do.

One thing everyone can agree on is Greedo got SHOT. You don’t see blasters do that kind of damage very often. Greedo’s brothers (Slotho, Envio, Prideo, etc.) had to have a closed casket funeral. His childhood friend, Walz, committed suicide from grief.

I don’t plan to change the “all the Jedi” line, as it sort of makes sense as all the Jedi are backing her. She’s figuratively all of them as their force is funneled into her. Palpatine’s line is the one that begs more explanation. Making this change feels iffy to me.
