Didn’t someone recently modify the lighting of the shot with Leia holding the medal in closeup? If so, can you send that to me to implement before I get the chance to forget about it?

Neerb is right; I basically plan to just implement the bits and pieces needed to make a comprehensive Rey Nobody edit once they are generated and complete. That thread is the best place to keep tabs on that.

What makes that ROTS footage any better than the one already in TROS?
I haven’t noticed any issues with the video game footage at all, to be quite honest, but the consensus was clear that using it would throw a lot of people.
I’m a simple man. I see something playing before me in 24fps and I accept it, I guess.

I don’t plan to alter the scene further, though there are many valid ideas about how it could’ve gone.
And essentially the only things I’m currently waiting on are completed (and then de-blued) island Jedi haircut, and the remaining scenes for the crackly saber FX.
Let’s see, it’s mostly the SE version save for the Sarlacc beak, Lapti Nek, the Vader “nooo,” and Anakin’s ghost.

Y’know, I think I will leave the “I’m the pilot” scene alone. I wouldn’t have picked up on it without this sort of close reading, but I like the juxtaposition of “I brought the message” with the leitmotif that is very similar to Leia’s message in ANH.
Yesterday we watched Rogue One followed by Star Wars 4K77.
I realized that due to working on my years-long project of shot-by-shot color correction of A New Hope, the experience of watching Star Wars has broken down into a series of varying emotional reactions to the colors on screen. For example, I was forced to remark several times on the beauty of particular shots while gazing sadly at those that failed to live up to the Technicolor standard. The story of the film and its greater universe totally disappeared while in this state, even though we just finished watching Rogue One.

Actually, yes. I found it made for a slightly abrupt end of the scene. I don’t mind the line anyway, as it reinforces the idea of the shield gate being closed as a big deal, so I don’t think it’s worth it.

I didn’t realize when I watched the Nightsisters that it was the season finale.
Given that, I really imagine I would’ve found that Darth Maul season opener stinger really weird. It doesn’t seem to have anything else to do with anything in Season 1. I don’t know yet how Season 2 will open, but could it perhaps tease something later on than the very first (or second) episode?
I don’t know that it’s necessary, but I have always used ProRes HQ to be safe. The end result can never technically be as good as the original BluRay (for example) source, but I want it to be as close as possible.
On the other hand, using and saving ProRes LT files could’ve saved me a lot of headache as oppose to reattaching media later and having to manually realign clips.
Man, if I woke up and it was 2013 again, I could get through this all dramatically more efficiently.
