Here’s the ‘Burbin’ version to consider, too: https://vimeo.com/529837651

Thanks for that reality check. I’ll mock up Burbin’s idea too, walk away, and come back fresh to compare and see what feels best.
^Good point. The geography is sort of muddled by the three-shot mockup if you ask me.
I think this little moment is funnier without the skit for context:

So I think the best sequence might be to only have the other two shots: TIEs flying towards red lava planet > Establishing shot of the planets surface, revealing a forest growing amidst the lava > The TIEs, now descended to the surface, fly over the forest > cut to Kylo on the surface of said forest.
This would be worth mocking up as well. I’ll see about it, possibly tonight. I like all three of these shots, it’s just a question of whether they work best with all three or some combination of two.
I feel like the castle shot flows into the forest shot very naturally, and I’d hate to break that up. I can’t help but feel the lava shot would feel like an insertion.
Just to have them both together to compare…

I mocked up the scene with the added shot as posted above, fully implementing it and doing audio in order to assess whether it really works that way.
I would say that I wouldn’t worry at all about catering to the viewer’s expectations for Mustafar, and just make sure that it’s consistent within this movie.
With that in mind, if we can only have two shots I’d lean toward the castle and the forest with TIEs. Either this new shot fits as a dramatic establishing shot before getting into the transition into the action or it feels too out of place. I think the timing of the music is slightly more favorable with just the two shots, also, but not to the point of precluding using it if it works.
For your consideration:
PM sent.
Like he’s lightning-incontinent?
Originally for the Rey Nobody version, as it reads to me as put there in order to connect to Rey’s use of lightning in order to imply a connection. But I figured it wasn’t necessary and the Fx was done so why not include it for both versions.
Make Holdo’s hair constantly rotate between colors like a fiberoptic Christmas tree.
And then zombie-mecha-Hitler returns mysteriously.
lol, did you just make that?
Incredibilly
A Stormtrooper.
Vice Admiral Holdo doesn’t ram the Star Destroyer. She survives to fight in the Battle of Crait, though is shot down by a walker.
Communicated by a now-subtitled BB8, Rey was temporarily looked after by Obi-Wan Kenobi’s grandson for a couple weeks once when Uncle Plutt (that’s his name and biological relation now, too) was on vacation. BB8 was present for the occasion, being owned by Kenobi before sending him with an urgent message for then-Senator Leia shortly after.
That’s pretty darn cool! My only nitpick is I think the added porg sounds are a little corny.
Finn speaks French, except when he yells “REY” in Japanese. Any non-dialogue grunts or noises are Italian. Any helmeted dialogue is French with the English lines at a half-second delay and processed to sound tinny.

I imagine the blue-ness of Luke is a limiting factor. One of the nice things about Nev’s grading is it takes that down a peg.
I’m getting a small business off the ground and so there will be times where I may not be all that active for a while. BUT, things are obviously still in motion and it will all come together. The Rey Nobody version is not pushed back by the default version taking a while, as development of that aspect is in the Rey Nobody thread.
“We’re taking this baby to the mooooooon!”
I’ve added playing around with that Mustafar shot to my to-do list, but it’s likely I’ll be preoccupied for the near future. Got some real-life things I need to prioritize for right now.
D-O speaks in droid language. He’s subtitled, and extremely verbose.
