My suggestions generally improve Terrio’s dialogue in the opening scene with Kylo and Palps so it’d be less clunky.
That is fully YOUR opinion, and using that as an argument for a change won’t get you there in any fanedit. Actually explaining how the change betters fits or improves the character arcs will make your suggestions better received.
Please consider making your own thread for these or post in the Rise of Skywalker Fanedit Ideas thread and stop bloating this one with changes that are backed solely with “because I think it’s better that way” or changes that would be practically impossible to do.
There’s those Tarkin and Leia deepfakes for Rogue One.
@TestingOutMyPatience, these were included in Hal’s edit of Rogue One as someone did them on YouTube and was nice enough to share their work. I’m sure if you made something passable that looked like it could be in the original film, it would probably be considered for this edit. Some of these suggestions would be better received in this thread.
With the latest Bad Batch episode (light spoiler) it seems like it’s canon that those experimental cloning tubes are filled with green liquid. Are we going to stick with the red or is green a possibility? I seem to remember Poppa making two different versions.

Haha, I thought someone must have suggested it earlier. I do think it’s the best option if it’s doable. I guess it was shot down almost immediately when you first brought it up, but I don’t think the demo did the idea justice, so I’m still curious if it’s really possible.
To me, having it that way is the only way the “I am a Jedi” pays off well in Rey’s arc. Hopefully the new demo sways some opinions on how doable it may be.
The only way I can see the dialogue working with Rey saying “No” is as follows:
Palpatine: “I am all the Sith! A scavenger girl is no match for the power in me. You are nothing.”
Rey: “No… I’m a Jedi.”

Do you ever stop? If you have nothing of substance to add then get the hell off this thread. Everything in your article is solely opinions and things inferred by you alone. At this point I’d be glad to watch a TotT edit of TROS. Oh wait, that’s the original movie.
I feel like this edit has come to far to rely on what is in the crawl now. If something is better for the sake of the story and character motivations then maybe the crawl could be changed to help those adjustments.

I feel like Palps’ reveal should remain in the crawl, this time putting a halt to TLJ’s theme of hope in the beginning of the movie.
The whole reason the crawl was changed was to remove the cheapening effect of having a major character return be announced via an opening crawl, and in terms of this edit it does not make sense to have it there.
I like this one. Only two modifications I’d make are removing the bold font of First Order and Resistance. Also, I feel like the last paragraph of the one we currently have is better. Although perhaps we could bold HIDDEN POWER in that one.

The novelization had his last line be in Rey’s head after he dies: “Noones ever really gone.” Not only is it a nice callback to Luke, but it also explains why Rey suddenly looks happy as she’s flying away in her X-wing.
Too bad he never said that anywhere.
It would be pretty easy to include “Rey, you’re not alone. You’ve become what you were meant to be.” using quotes from the hand touch and throne room scenes in TLJ.
Edit: Although that quote may be better to include in the Jedi voices section.

This is a fanedit, we can suggest changing his last line to be something more meaningful than a summary of this trilogy of films.
Anyways… since Dat_SW_Guy appeared to drop his project of extending the ending of the film due to either personal/technical reasons on his end, is this still being considered and/or has someone decided to try working on this?
The scene being the Falcon going into space above Tatooine so the end song can end a little more triumphantly before it cuts to the credits.

I don’t think subtitles are needed since they aren’t talking with the main characters.
Hal, maybe you’re right. But I feel like I recommend against making the mention of “Skywalker” be the thing that causes Rey to look at the kids - she looks at the kids in the first place because they are what she and the Resistance are fighting for.
The movie is called The Rise of Skywalker…
The scene immediately afterwards she is asked for her “family name”.
The whole puppet show and surrounding scene is used to help reinforce the ending of the film and actually make Rey’s name change feel earned.
Rey reacting to “Skywalker” helps to show that the spark that will ignite the fire that will burn down the First Order because of Luke’s sacrifice is still alive and it is worth it for her to continue fighting and accept being a Jedi. Because THAT’S what she and the Resistance are fighting for.
But as I stated, the scene with the children establishes a connection with the galaxy in just TRoS (as if it were a standalone movie and not a sequel) and raises the stakes. It’s more personal and thus meaningful than just reinforcing TLJ. The heroes are fighting for the future of the galaxy, which the children symbolize.
But the problem with that statement is that this is a sequel in a very disjointed trilogy, and any connections to help make it feel more connected should be a welcome change.
The stakes are still there. The kids have hope for the future because of Luke’s sacrifice, just like Rey. It’s another reason for Rey to want to fight, to make Luke’s sacrifice worth it.
