The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

@TestingOutTheTest

There is a way to provide meaningful criticism and debate an issue without doing it in a rude way.

You act like your ideas are better than anyone else’s and then turn into a defensive ass when anyone calls you out on how you are rudely criticizing something.

You are the definition of an internet troll and it amazes me that the moderators of this site have let you go on for so long.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Downloading now!

A quick “pro-tip” to anyone here:

 • Import the files
 • Install the sync app on your computer
 • Use local sync in the app to download directly to your computer
 • If you have a VPN program, when you connect to it the program changes your computer’s outgoing IP and allows you to bypass restrictions
 • You may need to close and relaunch the program for it to work but any active transfers will start where they left off!

Thank you for all of your hard work @Adywan!

Because during the flashback where Luke was training her, the twins were still young, and it is very likely that Ben had not been born at that point. By having Leia end her Jedi training to focus on being a mother, it would make sense to lay down her lessons from Luke. It also makes it seem Ben chose to die rather than it being destined to be.

What if…

Luke: “It was the last night of her training. Leia told me that she had sensed the death of her son at the end of her Jedi path. She surrendered her saber to me and said that one day… it would be picked up again… by someone who would finish her journey. We’ll always be with you, but this is your fight.”

Leia quits being a Jedi, because as it has been explained numerous times, she never wanted to be one. Leia wanted to focus on politics and then dumped her son on Luke later on to train. What if we just make that line about Leia realizing that, being a Jedi is not for her, and someone else would eventually take her spot. In my opinion, it makes her taking on Rey as a trainee even stronger as she believes Rey would be her successor as a Jedi. Just food for thought!

I remember having this same conversation a while back. The problem with making her parents bad people is that the Palpy/Rey scene at the end relies on the whole “she will take her revenge!” spiel. He’s trying to get her to hate him. But if Palpatine is responsible for the killing of her parents, and they were bad people, then really Rey should be thanking Palps for neutralizing those scum bags. Not exactly the greatest strategy. And don’t even get me started on the fact that it makes no sense that they wouldn’t reveal her location to Ochi if they were bad.

Don’t get me wrong, it would have been better for them to be bad, but unfortunately the movie we have been given relies on them being good. Doing the opposite would involve removing way too much content and make the Rey/Palpatine scene kinda confusing.

I see your point. But I do think the revenge she could be taking would be because she was alone for all those years because of Palpatine. Rey being “no one” and on her own and not having a family her whole life was because of Palpatine and her deadbeat parents. Palpatine wanted her to feel alone and resent him and strike him down in anger so he could take over her. He even taunts her about having the power to save her friends. He even tries to tempt her to go bad to “protect” her new family. I could see it working that way but it may be tough to make that easily apparent in the film.

I think I’d prefer the default version of this project not to venture down the path of making her parents back into shitheads, but I see your point.

I’d argue it makes Rey’s character better in the film and trilogy. Because her new family actually loves and accepts her and wants her around. And the whole, “my parents abandoned me” view from TLJ is maintained and helps with contradictions. I think it should be considered for a Rey Palpatine cut.

@DrVibble Regarding your review. At one point you mention drama about Lucasfilm and Kennedy. You better not be referring to those false “civil war” rumors from Doomcock…

Word that less like a threat. Consider this a warning.

Would love for the mods to just prevent him from posting in this thread because all he does is troll everyone all day long and provide suggestions outside the scope of this edit.

My suggestions generally improve Terrio’s dialogue in the opening scene with Kylo and Palps so it’d be less clunky.

That is fully YOUR opinion, and using that as an argument for a change won’t get you there in any fanedit. Actually explaining how the change betters fits or improves the character arcs will make your suggestions better received.

Please consider making your own thread for these or post in the Rise of Skywalker Fanedit Ideas thread and stop bloating this one with changes that are backed solely with “because I think it’s better that way” or changes that would be practically impossible to do.

There’s those Tarkin and Leia deepfakes for Rogue One.

@TestingOutMyPatience, these were included in Hal’s edit of Rogue One as someone did them on YouTube and was nice enough to share their work. I’m sure if you made something passable that looked like it could be in the original film, it would probably be considered for this edit. Some of these suggestions would be better received in this thread.

What if a line was added?

Palpatine: “The Jedi are dead! I am all the Sith! A scavenger girl is no match for the power in me, you are nothing.”

Rey: “No… I’m a Jedi.”

Or:

Palpatine: “Laughing… I am all the Sith! A scavenger girl is no match for the power in me, you are nothing.”

Rey: “No… I’m a Jedi.”

Haha, I thought someone must have suggested it earlier. I do think it’s the best option if it’s doable. I guess it was shot down almost immediately when you first brought it up, but I don’t think the demo did the idea justice, so I’m still curious if it’s really possible.

To me, having it that way is the only way the “I am a Jedi” pays off well in Rey’s arc. Hopefully the new demo sways some opinions on how doable it may be.
