I’m feeling the same way also. The constant arguing and negativity in the Star Wars fan base is exhausting, and I just don’t feel much passion for Star Wars as a franchise anymore.

I used to feel similar, but have since jettisoned the negative aspects of fandom from my viewing habbits.

No more toxic or hating videos on youtube, or twitter, or from sites that promote such views and content. And there still many good sites and forums out there still, and youtube channels too. These good places soon fill my youtube and twitter recommendations/likes so I do not see the toxic channels anymore.

I still get to engage with others with a wide range of views and intepretations, but without the hate and repeated negativity.

Overall this place is very good for such respectful views, I think some also take this site for granted, and that we would be worse off without sites such as this one.

Everyone can still contribute to make it an even better place 😃 And if not on this place then we can for the next place, and the next.

Has anyone here received the link? What’s it like? Can’t seem to get a reply from the poster/editor

Likely because it has been a few hours since you sent them a PM - and it could anything from hours through to weeks before you receive a reply.

This may hopefully be of some help mate:-

‘How do I do this?’ on the OriginalTrilogy.com

No need to be funny, I’m well aware how forums work.
They were on the day that I first mentioned it and didn’t reply, so thought maybe it wasn’t available. Thought I’d ask others if they’ve seen it.

If you leave a gap between the quote and your post it will appear separate. And not as one indistinct post.

Yet you are well aware of how forums work, so may not need any ‘funny help’ 😉

Reorganising Star Wars Fanedits
Time

oojason said the other day they have now finished re-organising 4/5 forum sections of the site to help members find projects (both completed and unfinished), info and idea threads, and other discussions:-

Toys & Memorabilia | Collections, Toys and Memorabilia - an Index of Discussion Threads…

Star Wars Fan Edits and Other Projects | An Index & Help Thread for Star Wars Fan Edits and Other Projects… • Updated •

Preservation of Other Properties | An Index & Help Thread for Preservation of Other Properties… • Updated •

Fan Edits & Projects for Other Properties | An Index & Help Thread for Fan Edits & Projects for Other Properties… • Updated •

and the Star Wars Preservation forum is now also complete, with just the ‘Index & Help’ thread below to be similarly updated in the next couple of weeks:

An Index & Help Thread for Star Wars Preservations…

He also said the other forum sections of the site have already been previously completed - with tweaks and updates made in the many ‘Index & Help’ threads every so often.

And hopes that if we see any mistakes, errors in them we will post them up so they can correct them. As well as having suggestions for any overlooked threads or projects to be added to the Indexes.

I think the moderation and admin staff have done a remarkable job in updating these Fan Project sections, and also all of the other segments of the site as well. It is certainly much easier to find threads, information and projects on here now, even without a site search function!

And also simpler and better for us members who do not like certain Star Wars releases to avoid them if we want to, but yet also more easily find whatever the Start Wars content we do love and enjoy too 😃

Thank you OT mods and admin.

There are nearly 7000 threads in the 5 forum sections which they have sorted through, plus the ‘Index & Help’ threads for them, since they started in April? They and this community = Amazing 👏 ♥️ 17 years and counting!

Does anyone have these SW Plex / Media Covers in a size that would fit a Blu-Ray case?
Time

RedHeadJedi is on reddit quite a bit, and is a very helpful and talented guy. It is worth asking him if he has already done this, or to ask how easy it would be to resize them to fit a bluray front cover?

There is more of his work (and similar from others) in this thread too, just for interest:

Info: 4K upscales of 2003 <strong>Clone Wars</strong> (Genndy Tartakovsky animated series) (Released)
Time

Apologies if this is being discussed elsewhere and I simply couldn’t find the thread…

I’m aware of DavidMDaut’s project - Recreating the TV Edits of the 2003 Clone Wars Series (HD) - though there is mention online of a seperate and recent 4K upscaled release of Tartakovsky’s much under-rated animated series.

Is this correct - and are these 4K upscales any good? Does anyone have more information on this release?

(or is there a thread on here for the 2003 ‘Clone Wars’ 4K upscales?)

Mod Edit: the The NumeralJoker/MechaSalesman 4K HDR Edits Megathread, Clips Previews, and Release Info thread contains info on the above 2003 Clone Wars series upscales (in both 4K and 1080p) - and also many other intriguing projects…

Harry Potter Extended Editions (Released)
Time

^ Everyone fully respects the work and quality JJP has accomplished with these edits.

Yet it is up to the editor if they want to make their work available or not, this is especially so in light of what has occurred with these ‘advance clips’ and since (with the threats and harrassment towards JJPotter from this entitled idiot).

It is not the community as such that needs to learn from this - just entitled idiots who resort to such threats and harrassment (and also smear JJPotter’s work) because they do not get their own way.

I know this has been discussed elsewhere, though I feel it is worth highlighting in this thread too (and for the 2011 and 2019 ‘what have they still not fixed?’ threads):

Can I send download links in private messages?
Time

The many index threads, the Welcome thread, About, Help, ‘How do I do this? on the OriginalTrilogy.com’, and other threads have information on how to try and acquire projects on here. Also, in this post:-

I have found a Fan Edit / Preservation I am interested in - but don’t know how to get / acquire / download it?

So if the above post says to read through a project thread for information, and also one good way is to get in contact with an Editor or project leader by PMs on how to obtain a project, then it is likely this is the way to obtain a project 👍

And if you have a project to share, then the above seems a good way of sharing it, without getting the site or staff into trouble 😃

Please delete this mods if this is too much information, sorry.

<strong>Star Wars: Squadrons</strong> - video game
Time

^ I find ‘Star Wars Explained’ a little dry for my taste, but you are very much correct when you say he is insightful and factual without the modern youtube drama style.

What he says is usually right too, and is a another good video 😃

More ships as unlockables would indeed be welcome. I used to play Rogue Squadron games years ago, like many others on here, so I am very much hoping to be able to fly the fun black car again 😉 I hope the game makers include it.

Modern SE Revisionism
Time

^ I hadn’t heard George claiming that Alan Ladd Jr and the Fox execs talked him out of calling it ‘Episode IV: A New Hope’ before.

It seems strange that the scripts and script notes for ESB had ‘Episode V’ on them - yet while filming ESB the film was sometimes referred to as ‘Star Wars 2’ or ‘Episode II’:

With the amount of revisionism that Geoerge does (and many discredited claims), it is sometimes difficult to believe him and find the actual truth or events 😃

Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Will Use Same VFX Technology As The Mandalorian’:

https://www.ign.com/articles/obi-wan-kenobi-series-vfx-technology-the-mandalorian

'Ewan McGregor has suggested that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ will use the same groundbreaking visual effects techniques as The Mandalorian.

In an interview with ACE Nation, McGregor, who appeared in George Lucas’ Star Wars prequel trilogy, teased some behind-the-scenes details about the upcoming Obi-Wan spinoff series. In particular, he lauded today’s VFX technology and how much it has evolved since his involvement with the saga in the early 2000s.

“I think I am going to enjoy it much more,” he admitted. "[The prequels] were all blue screen and green screen and it was hard to imagine, but nowadays I think things have moved on so much, and I think a lot of what you see is gonna be what we see on the set.

“I don’t know if you’ve seen the behind-the-scenes of The Mandalorian series, but they employ that incredible screen… it’s pretty amazing. It makes you feel like you’re in the place, it’s going to feel realer for us, as actors. And I think we’ll be using some of that technology on our show.”

For The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm utilised a cutting-edge technology, known as “StageCraft,” that projects high-resolution imagery onto LED screens, which wrap around sets to create reactive surroundings for actors to immerse themselves into their environments.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which was originally set to be a movie, is set to take place 8 years after Revenge of the Sith and will be directed by Deborah Chow, who helmed episodes of The Mandalorian. Joby Harold also recently signed on as a writer for the series, even though its production has been on hold since the beginning of the year.’

^ Cool news that they’ll be using the same tech as used on The Mandalorian for this series - and also a cool video interview with Ewan McGregor 😃
