There are now dozen of people that sell the Despecialized Edition, see what Google founds:
https://www.google.com/search?num=100&safe=off&q=star+wars+despecialized+bluray+-originaltrilogy.com&oq=star+wars+despecialized+bluray+-originaltrilogy.com

You’ll find eBayers, YouTubers, iOfferers…

I actually had to take a moment to breathe and chill out a bit after looking through those results. Wtf people?? The fact that the vast majority of people seem to think eBay is where to get them, how did this happen?

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

Wasn’t there an edit that moved the Obi-Wan convo to Endor before Luke turns himself in? I remember that working really well as the environments are similar and it narratively makes more sense for it to be there.

Not that I’m in favor of reordering at all, but the obi wan and dagobah scenes aren’t exactly a linked package; it’s been done well before.

I know the feeling. I am finally starting to get to (but am not quite at) the point where I feel like I can watch the film again. Aside from the constant color critiques that pop into your head, even just knowing precisely what shot follows exactly which shot (even small, non-iconic ones) is enough to kind of ruin the fun in my opinion, as my mind would kind of go to the next shot instead of focusing on what was on the screen. And there was a time where I could have been given every individual shot and assembled them in order without reference.

But glancing at it recently, I’m finally at the point where I would not be able to assemble it like that. Even some short scenes I was slightly off about the order of! Road to recovery…

I think all of us who’ve taken a crack at grading the film know this struggle lol

I have to force myself to try and let my mind go blank watching it otherwise I’m just thinking too much about minute details.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Just watched it. I wish I had something eloquent and well thought out to say. But all I can say is wow. Almost 10 years worth of work and it definitely shows. This is a beautiful work of art. I actually teared up quite a bit at the Revisited Credits and the dedication to your mum and dad. This is from now on my definitive ESB.

You people crack me up. You F* around with copyrighted material then you cry when you see people selling the s*! Just stop, ok you make yourselves look stupid. Maybe if you made the “free” versions easier to get the masses out there would not resort to paying for them. Not to mention it might not be wise to keep brining undo attention to this site as well. I had no problem getting these but to your average non computer person its a pretty difficult task.

Because “f*ing around with copyrighted material” is not a crime. We own the movies, we can do with them what we please, so long as it is for personal use. It is, however, a crime to sell duplicates of that copyrighted material, altered or not. And we “cry” about it because it’s actually a pretty serious issue, as we haven’t had issues with Disney or Lucasfilm primarily because nobody is making money and they don’t see us as a threat. It was just slightly annoying when it was only a couple people here and there selling these on ebay, but the number of people selling these on ebay and other sites is growing astronomically to the point where it will likely soon draw the attention of Lucasfilm Legal and not in a good way, as they will see their actions as a reflection of us on the forum. Now are you done acting like a jerk? Can you provide something productive to the conversation instead of annoyingly complaining about how annoying we are? If not, kindly go away.

It’s currently downloading. Unfortunately I won’t have time to watch it till tomorrow 😦

On a side note, I kind of love that the barebones movie files come out before the full-on dvd and bluray files. Like a normal movie release, first you see just the movie at the theater, then later you can get all the special features and whatnot on the home video release.

And now there’s a website?!?

https://ldsentertainment.com/

a quick whois will likely show a few details - I imagine the hosts’ terms and conditions may be violated by this person(s) selling stuff like this… (and GoDaddy may not like to feel the wrath of Disney/Lucasfilm getting in contact) - and then handing over files to help ascertain just who is behind it…)

Looks like they registered through DomainsByProxy to keep their information hidden. I wonder why they think they would want to keep themselves hidden… \s

Should we start a dedicated thread for this sort of thing instead of polluting this one?

A whole section would be more appropriate for this.

How we gonna deal with these people? They seem to be multiplying daily.

Taking the topic away from the Despecialized thread.

Other than links to the likes of ebay, etsy and similar auctions… please do not link to - or name - websites selling the Despecialized Editions & other fan projects that feature here - they can easily be misinterpreted as adverts or endorsements. Thank you.

Moderator Edit…

Harmy has put up a video on youtube - just to remind everyone that…

Fan Edits must never be bought or sold’ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrwKZHv4OS0

^ Personally, as a member here, I’d encourage everyone to watch it and up-vote that video.

The ’How do I do this?’ on the OriginalTrilogy.com - some info & answers to members’ queries thread in the General Assistance section of the site may also be of interest for alternatives, possibilities, ideas and choices for those who wish to acquire the Despecialized Editions (and other projects) - but think they may not have the necessary equipment required, believe they do not possess the technical know-how to obtain them, or are mistaken in that certain projects may not be available to acquire…
