Watching the clip hal, I think it looks good with the ties and whatnot not. I am colorblind, so I couldn’t contribute any color related things regarding some of the discussion.
I would say, if doable, the soot or speckles really, really stick out to me … kinda like dust on the film more than a scenic thing. If they could be cleaned up/remove, then it all looks great to me.

Okay, I’ve combined my latest edit with parts from Cap’s version (as well as a few extra layers to smooth over gaps and clean up some scratches)… and I think we may have finally cracked “I am a Jedi”. I’m genuinely really excited - to my ears at least, this is the best I think it’s ever sounded. Thank you, Cap!
Of course, I’m sure someone will hear something I missed and burst my bubble, lol.

Looking at the added shots next to the Kylo footage I think the castle shot needs to be a bit more yellow/orange (compare the clouds on the Kylo close-up shot), while the TIE flyover shot is too yellow/orange and should have a bit more red/pink (compare to the forest wide shot).
I don’t have the ear to comment on the technical side of things, but personally I think the version CaptainFaraday shared had a stronger delivery of the line, I feel like it made the line sound less breathy and gave it better emphasis.

I’ve tweaked the colors of the flyover to have more pink. I think the Biomes shot might work as-is, since the prior shot is of a very pink/red planet from space, and the forest and lava fields at the end of the shot trend a bit more yellow which transitions into the flyover.

I need to hear a direct comparison.

I think the Biomes shot might work as-is, since the prior shot is of a very pink/red planet from space, and the forest and lava fields at the end of the shot trend a bit more yellow which transitions into the flyover.
I think even the planet has a bit more orange than the castle shot though, and even then I think it’s more important that the footage of the surface blends together, in that closeup of Kylo’s face you get a good look at the clouds above and they’re a mix of pink and yellow/orange, while on the castle shot they’re a more pale white and pink.
I need to hear a direct comparison.

You may be right - the Biomes shot has now been adjusted accordingly to be slightly less pink.

I am so pumped for version two. I am always in awe of what this community can accomplish. I love the newly updated opening sequence, the seemingless puppet show and the masterful ending. I believe we are mainly waiting for the crackling saber effects to be finished and touch up on Luke’s hair. No rush, but V2 would certainly be a nice Christmas Present. Thanks again for all effort and time that has been put into this project. It does not go unnoticed and you have all saved the sequel trilogy for a SW fan like me!

The big difficulty is getting the “æ” sound in the Received Pronunciation accented “am” to stop sounding like an “aɪ” sound which turns the word into “I’m”.

For sure, I absolutely love what Cap did with the line - I’ve practically been begging him nonstop to let me use his audio in the final mix - but there was some audio distortion happening around the “am a” that had to be removed for a final product. I incorporated a lot of what he did (particularly how he fixed “I’m” to “am” - god, I love it), cleaned up that tricky spot, and smoothed over the edges.

I think the whole mix is a bit like a Rubik’s cube. If one part gets changed, the other parts sound different by recontextualisation, even if they haven’t been changed themselves. It’s such a tricky delivery to work with as well, and there’s no good source for any of the exact phonemes we need.

People might have one preference over the other but honestly Sherlock’s also sounds super natural. I don’t think people would think anything is off with it.

I don’t keep up with this thread as much as I should but bravo if it was your idea on the purple lightsaber. I remember Carrie saying that she’d want a purple lightsaber. So that’s a great subtle way of honouring her. 😄

Sade1212’s, Sherlockpotter’s, AND CaptainFaraday’s all sound very seamless to me. I’ve got all three lined up and trying to decide between them.
Sade1212’s are all mixed into a fully serviceable 5.1 mix. The clips CaptainFaraday sent me yesterday are not, and there are surround channels that have an echo of the original line and its placement. If sherlock can provide me with his fine-tuned take on things even just as the center channel, I’ll see whether it can be implanted into the mix.
Again, they all sound amazing and I’d be happy with any of them. I think CaptainFaraday’s has the slight edge, so hopefully an isolated version of the complete line can be presented.
