It’s a real shame that he’s no longer active, because he did an excellent job on his projects. In my opinion, his work was much better than the official version. I hope he’s doing well, wherever he is, and that someone has kept his projects safe.

I only just found this forum it’s sad to see that it’s impossible to get a link to these projects when the author is inactive.

OMG! What a blast from the past! I probably watched this 50 times around the time it came out, it felt like it was scratching an itch that I had as a teenager that Lord of the Rings was scratching when I was younger. And your remaster looks absolutely amazing, I love the colors! Thank you so much for your hard work on this! ❤️

I love this. I still have my awesome director’s cut collectible edition blue Trojan case. Never letting that go. Really surprised this hasn’t gotten an offical 4K release yet

I tried contacting the creator of the project in mid October (PM) and sadly haven’t heard back yet. From the recent comments I have gathered that they aren’t on the platform anymore. However, it seems that there are people who have the film (given the rave reviews of the edit and all…) so I was wondering if anyone could perhaps kindly provide me with a link?

Very nice! Curious what the thought process was for reducing the yellow tinting? I noticed from your Terminator project that you color corrected to look more like the original release (with some artistic exceptions). Is the yellow tint a problem from the Blu-ray release and you’ve corrected it, or was it more personal preference? Only curious! I think the natural colors look great.

It’s a pretty good upscale, but more should have been done with the colors and contrast.

In any case, enjoyable to have Troy in adequate 4K detail as it never got more than a 1080p release officially.

Just watched the Troy Remaster and the colours and quality overall look great. Very impressive to see what someone can do with some time and effort. I’d go as far to say as, given the AI upscale nature of the project, the editor has done a better job than James Cameron did with his Aliens remaster. They will never reach the quality of a true film rescan in highter quality but given the tech available, I think this is as good as it gets. Also really appreciated the new colour-grade - in 95% of the scenes it looks great!

I remember waiting on this to get released on DVD back in the day after watching it in theaters!

At some point I’d love to see this in 4k!

In the theatrical cut, there was a scene in which Helena tended to Paris’s wound after his fight. However, this scene was not included in the Director’s Cut. Why was it removed? And were there any other scenes that were removed?

There is now an official 2160p release. A new Blu-Ray (with lots of extras, btw). I will be checking it out soon.

I’ve had a brief look through the Troy official 2160p blu-ray. It’s alright.

The detail level is roughly comparable to this upscale filmized remaster.

The colors are livelier on the new blu-ray, but also a bit more color graded, of course.

The main advantage is that you get HDR. And you get to choose between DC and Theatrical.
