It has the same weightless animation style as every Filoni show.
it looks good, i think its a mix between clone wars with little visions touch
idk
I’m concerned that this‘LL be a bait and switch like Kenobi was.
I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.
Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

Trailer looks pretty interesting. I really like the vibes, and the animation continues to be just as excellent as all the Filoni animated shows are. Hopefully it actually end sup being good, it wouldn’t be the first time, not just in Star Wars but in tv/film in general, that we get a really cool trailer but the show ends up being disappointing. I really hope the tone and vibes of this show really are as dark as the trailer makes it seem.
This should have been the end of Maul. He was a one-dimensional character and added nothing at all to the story.
I was on board with Solo, in spite of its weak story and poor acting, until his reveal. It was a one & done film for me at that point. It’s shocking to me that they’re still trying to make him relevant to the brand 27 years later.
He’s a cool character design and I’m okay with him coming back ONCE to fight Obi Wan, but this thing where we need to see every moment of his life, have a yellow version of him that’s his brother (named “Savage Oppress” no less), and have him interact with so many other important characters across several shows and movies, is just ridiculous. We already know how he dies (twice) so there’s no tension on whether or not he’ll survive any given event.

I’m no fan of Filoni, but I must say that trailer is pretty good. The storytelling is excellent within it.
Its worlds better than the garbage Mandoverse crap he is doing in live action.
The only thing I dislike is Laser Sword. As a descriptor its a lightsaber. I know kid Anakin used it and Rian Johnson had Luke use it to mock the Jedi.
good trailer!

Ah Darth Maul, a.k.a. Darth NoPenis. I will never understand why so many people accept his absurd return after being cut in half. This for me is easily one of the worst creative decisions Lucas has ever made as far as ruining the suspension of disbelief for the world he created but then again, his clone wars cartoon is filled with ridiculous kiddy nonsense that i find insufferable. The way he came back is like it was an idea from a 5 year old, “And then…And then…he got spider legs and was found by his little brother and some witches use magic and gave him new legs!” SMH. And to think that they brought him back just to be cut down by Kenobi again! LOL. It’s pathetic. They could have done so much with this character and that’s all they could do?! Make him obsessed with Kenobi and lose to him again? YAWN. I would have loved to see him seek out revenge against Palpatine for abandoning him and basically making him into a expendable goon. Sure, Palpatine can’t die, but it would’ve been cool if he could go out as some kind of anti-hero striking against the Sith rather than a pathetic fool. I hate that last fight with Kenobi in rebels. If I want more Darth Maul, I will just read the novels, lockdown or shadow warrior or read some of the comics about what he was up to before Phantom Menace but all this ridiculous nonsense about him coming back running around with no lower torso…It’s just absurd. How does he digest food? Or go to the bathroom?
Darth Maul Shadow Hunter. I read that novel. Michael Reaves. That and the comic book Darth Maul that came out back then I did enjoy. the comic was in 2000, the novel in 2001. Comic was written by Ron Marz. Artist was Jan Duursema.

Yup. That was a good one. Disney dropped a great Darth Maul prequel comic where he has to team up with Aura Sing and Bane and kill a Jedi. It was great and I rarely read Disney canon stuff

a snippet of the article…
'Not only will Maul have his revenge, his journey will continue with a second season of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord.
Ahead of the series premiere, creator and executive producer Dave Filoni has announced the continuation of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord with confirmation of Season 2 in the works from Lucasfilm Animation. Season 1 debuts on Disney+ with a two-episode premiere on Monday.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord presents fans with a pulpy adventure that finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.’
and…
‘The age of Maul begins with two new episodes premiering weekly at 12 a.m. PT beginning April 6, 2026, on Disney+.’
A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Trailers look rly interesting!
I hope it doesn’t suck…
A planet untouched by the Empire that will also coincidentally have dozens of stormtroopers to mow down and an inquisitor boss battle
i think both of these episodes are just fine, the animation, music, fights and acting are good, well, great even, but the writing is just average for me, every character feels one dimensional, and the plot so far reminds me of bad batch: characters just doing whatever side mission comes at them. (bad batch is the most generic star wars thing for me.) and a story set between episodes 3 and 4, where a character from the clone wars survived the rise of the empire and also a story were a random jedi who survived order 66, is just tiring at this point.
6,5/10
i plan to watch these episodes again later
idk
Maul: Shallow, Bored

I hate to say it, but it is things like this that make me have a hard time with current Star Wars at times. IMO, when Darth Maul was cut in half in TPM he died. When he showed up at the end of the Solo movie I was like, huh. He’s dead.
Yes, I know they have “explained” how he survived, I just never buy it. A force ghost, such as Obi Wan, is very different in my mind then someone surviving being sliced in half. But, that’s just me.
I am glad for everyone who enjoys this, and I have heard from a few friends that it is “really good”. I wish I could get past the “he’s not actually dead” thought process.
It’s interesting that this is so highly rated. I haven’t seen it yet, but any ideas what it is that is turning people off from it here, but not on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes?

its just fine…like average…its inoffensive…another story between 3 and 4…nothing special about it…Darth maul is just darth maul…and its fine…really ok…if u search the word ok on google, the poster of the show will be in the images section…
idk
I like this show so far . It’s not Emmy material but I find it pretty engaging with some good characters and I like the look of the show …gives me blade runner vibes . That , and with just 10 episodes to the season, 2 episodes at a time, its easily digestible and doesn’t require a big commitment. I just hope we get to see Vader vs Maul , but guessing that won’t happen until season 2 . Episode 10 would be an awesome cliffhanger if Vader shows up at the end…like how the best of the original Marvel star wars comics used him
Ah Darth Maul, a.k.a. Darth NoPenis. I will never understand why so many people accept his absurd return after being cut in half.
It should be established that Maul’s species can reproduce asexually, and like starfish, a pair of Mauls grew from the severed halves. When they appear on-screen together for the first time, you can have a character snap their finger and point, saying “This is getting out of hand! Now there are two of them!” And they can each carry half of a double-bladed lightsaber, each half powered by a split kyber crystal which has been bled extra dry, and when they put the two halves together, they form a superlightsaber which can fire energy beams from both ends capable of blasting holes in the spacetime continuum, forming wormholes to other galaxies, time periods, and universes.
I refuse to dehumanize anyone. Your ethical/moral/political/religious views may be repugnant to me, but I strive to hold Luke 23:34 close to my heart.
