Is it possible to cut every single mention of the “Final Order” in favour of it just being called the fleet/the Sith fleet/Palpatine’s fleet or whatever? The whole First Order + Sith Eternal = Final Order thing just seems unnecessarily complex (especially since the movie never mentions the Sith Eternal by name, nor does it particularly illuminate where all those people dressed in red came from at all)… and more importantly, every time I hear the words ‘Final Order’, my brain begins to vibrate. I normally love that kind of campy cheese, but in a movie already struggling so much to come across as sincere rather than ridiculous, it really doesn’t help.

What the galaxy has heard was “the final order begins” as in, in the galaxy’s POV, they dont know the final order is an organization, they think it’s a revolution/time era change.

Wow, this makes so much more sense - having the Final Order refer to the new Imperial Age rather than some dumbass voodoo-Death-Star armada. And I think the only line you’d need to cut would be Poe’s “He calls [the fleet] the ‘Final Order.’”

“The Resistance is dead. The Sith flame will burn. All worlds, surrender or die. [My new magic Sith Fleet] begins.”

Goddamn, I hate this movie lol.

I agree that it makes enough sense for Lando to just call it “The First Order” so your average galaxy-dweller would know who he’s talking about. But if anyone comes up with some other BDW lines they would prefer to use, absolutely PM me and I can add it to the transmission!

I agree with the Galaxy map. This is just my imagination ill share (i highly doubt it’ll be even possible). Start shot with Lando/Chewie in falcon while in hyperspace (trailer shot), and use a line of lando saying smt along the lines of “lets see how this goes”, transmission starts. While transmission starts, show said galaxy map (or hologram), when transmission finishes (in second half) cut to the shuttle scene, then scene with Ben inside. The scene would establish that one of lando’s actions is doing some recruiting (that we get to see) and that Ben was one of many that received/heard the message and that he was alrdy on his way hence how he got there first? just a thought, I have zero editting or vfx skills and what not…

You know, with all this Lando talk… Is there anyway to incorporate that “Come on Chewy… One last time.” scene that I think was definitely in the BTS material and might have been in a TV Spot?

Unfortunately there were lots of cameras and stuff in that scene. Somebody would have to do some insane VFX/cropping.

Also, it’s “You said it, Chewie.” So that kinda implies we’re missing a Chewie growl beforehand. I suppose one could edit that in.

EDIT: Actually that might be in the BTS clip already. Haven’t seen it in a while.

Speaking of the Sith Army-whatever, does anyone else really hate the new red armor variations? The red stormtroopers are pretty bad on their own, but the Sith Technicians, with their goofy, half-red, half-black helmets are just ridiculous to me. It looks so cheap and lame.

The whole thing just screams “merchandise” to me. “Look at all of the new toys we can manufacture! It’s the same model as the First Order troopers, just with some red paint on the helmet! Hey kids, Halloween costumes are ready to go!” It took me right out of the movie when I first saw it, with how obviously it was just a marketing gimmick; I felt like I was watching a toy ad, rather than a film.

I wonder if it would be possible to recolor the armor black? I feel like that would look classier and less like cheap plastic. Where do you even get red dye on Exegol anyway? The entire freaking planet is blue!!

(Oh wait, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that the red armor is made out of gammaplast, instead of the First Order betaplast armor. I take back everything I said about it looking like cheap knockoffs to sell toys. There’s lore to support it. 🙄)

Slams fist Red armor is cool, dammit!

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

Yeah, yeah, I get it. Star Wars is no stranger to merchandising. What gets me I think is the sheer laziness of it though. Come up with some unique designs, rather than painting the leftover outfits you pulled out of storage. Like, seeing all of those cool vehicles in the Prequels makes me think “Wow, that would be a fun LEGO set” or whatever. I want an AT-TE or a Hailfire Droid! Seeing the red armor in TROS just makes me think, “Wow, this was really the best the art department could come up with? A half-red helmet? …Neat-o.”

Or maybe if it were more of a blood-red, rather than “plastic fire engine” red? It just looks cheap to me, I’m sorry.

Having a flick through Ascendant, there’s only two shots of the red helmet dudes in the movie (outside of the cut Kijimi explosion part), right? They could easily be painted black (black as night; black as coal) in After Effects if it was desired, or even cut entirely.

TROS took the sequel aesthetic of just revamping classic OT designs and turned it up to eleven.

Honestly, if they had used classic Stormtrooper designs, but painted red, at least that would have been a fun little callback (and would have made more sense with the Palpatine angle). But they couldn’t even be bothered to remake the old designs! They just reused some old First Order armor, so they’re ripping off of their own movie.

EDIT: Sade, personally, I think your fix there looks so much better. Nice!

Not to be overly pedantic, but the design is slightly different. The armor is slimmer and more angular than normal FO stormtroopers, and the helmets have black lines down the center like Clone Trooper helmets.
Which unfortunately means I can’t add more footage of Sith Troopers by colorizing unused stormtrooper footage from the TFA trailer…

Honestly repurposing white First Order stormtroopers by recoloring them red would probably work just fine. Lots of people think they’re already just palette-swapped First Order soldiers so they wouldn’t even notice the difference.

Ha, yeah, look at me - I clearly didn’t realize there was any difference. And even if someone tried to complain, you could just say that the other troopers were some different rank or class of soldier. I say go for it - that sounds like a really awesome idea, and I’d love to see it in action!

I actually like the Sith Trooper design, and precisely because of the similarity to the Phase II clone trooper helmet. Sadly they have such brief appearances (I believe there’s only two foreground shots of them in the entire movie) that they stand out more as a marketing gimmick (compared to, lets say…the death and shore troopers from Rogue One).

My design problem is mostly with the technicians, fighters and the Sith star destroyers (it’s clear they reused the CG model from Rogue One, despite it being the older iteration of ISDs in-universe).

Nope, you can see he has the helmet on the pillar that they destroy.

Is that a travel case? I was under the impression that it was a preservation chamber.

I think the post is saying that after the plinth is smashed and the helmet lands in the snow, it gets placed in the travel case instead.

I know, but what I’m saying is you still see it on the column in his coverage (there’s a cut shot in the BTS where he places it there).
