Just to be clear, because I do plan to give it a try, you mean the sound he makes while making that spin lunge at the group of four Jedi?

Yeah that’s the one they’re talking about.

I’m not entirely sure about doing that, because the scream was meant to be imposing and fear-inducing. If we included the same scream with his death, that’s kinda the opposite I feel like.

Well he’s not actually doing the spin / force dash, It’s more for the sound which is a call back to the moment / Sith scream. It would also add a spiritual undertone to his death almost like his spirit is being killed rather just one of many clone bodies. I quite liked how they made Palpatine more creature-like using zombie type sounds in Revenge Of The Sith; creepy groans right after his alchemy transformation, made him less human and more of a monster - reminds of that unused line ‘More than a clone, less than a man’

Not sure on the rational of the use of it, to be honest.

I agree the thematic use of the Sith Spinning Scream is a bit shaky, but in terms of how it would sound in the moment, I really love the idea. It’s worth trying out at least.

I definitely think its worth testing the sound right as he explodes; or slightly after.
Found a way more echoed version in SWBFII,

I agree. I think it actually works fine in context, plus it just sounds right.

I’m fine with it myself. I was just speaking for the lore nuts who believe it is an actual Sith ability meant to stagger opponents. But I’m not sure that’s canon anymore. Could be legends.

It’s a nice callback to ROTS, so why not.

This is super neat. I’d love it even more if it could be mixed it with more reverb, and more of a fade out effect to really sell the ‘spirit’ going to nothing.

I really like this scream effect being used, partly because it’s yet another call-back to the PT. Also it has been used in previous Star Wars media with a different thematic meaning to the original moment (namely Savage’s death in TCW, also Palpatine’s interaction with Ezra in Rebels) so I don’t think it robs the scene of its intended mood.

I think it works well enough. Can you please send me the audio? Ideally separate from the final clip? If you could export all channels if you added reverb, that’d let me implement and adjust further if needed.

Should be easy to make it fit, I just altered the levels to make it fade in correctly.

A Work-in-progress on color correcting and forest-ing the Vader Castle shot:

Tentative Tracking

Obviously the lights of the castle will be darkened.

As far as the shot length, I’ve sped it up 1000% (10X speed) and that’s still not enough to simply replace the castle from the original 3 shot establishing sequence. I don’t want to speed it up more since the smoke and fog looks odd (and I’ll have to re-track a slower version of the lavafall regardless), so I’m thinking that it might be possible to use this one shot to replace all three.

Thoughts?

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

WHOA. OH MY GOD. THAT LOOKS AMAZING.

I definitely wouldn’t want to lose the original forest shot, as that one seems to segue the best into the on-the-ground location. I’m not sure how it would work with cutting out the first lava shot; I guess I’d like to see how it feels in motion, just to gauge the pacing.

The shot looks beautiful though, Nev!

Oh I’ve been thinking since biomes came out that a one shot solution would be ideal. Great work!

Woooow. This looks amazing. I’m grateful they released biomes when they did, perfect timing

I’m personally making as many extending shots to Mustafar as possible, mainly for pacing and to establish this work.

Nev, that colour is amazing! Are you motion tracking the forest in the background?
