Hey guys, have you thought of moving Kylo’s scar to match 8 and 9?
Hey guys, have you thought of moving Kylo’s scar to match 8 and 9?
We did consider it, and then Sir Ridley did it. It’s already taken care of.
Should you update the first post to say Version 5?
After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.
Thanks; done.
I know this project is pretty much complete, but I thought came to me if anyone has done VFX work to put young Ben Solo and Snoke when Rey looks down the hallway at Cloud City, and Luke and Vader fighting behind her.
I may have said this before, but just in case if I didn’t, just an idea.

Just to work them in somehow?

If you’re interested, then sure.

I’m not sure I see the point in doing that.
Luke and Vader fighting there was supposed to show up in the vision. It was filmed and everything, if I’m not mistaken. I believe the reason they didn’t use it is because:
Maybe just add a CRT with ESB playing to the background of the Jakku part.
FINN: Apparently he’s carrying a map that leads to Luke Skywalker, and everyone’s after it.
REY: Luke Skywalker? From Star Wars?

What about young Ben Solo and Snoke? She saw them down the hallway in the novelisation.

This is taken from the novel written by Alan Dean Foster.
A heavy, slow, mechanical breathing filled the room. Turning, she found herself looking down an impressive hallway, its architecture reminiscent of the Old Empire. Peering harder, farther, she saw in the distance a section of the famed Cloud City. Two figures were locked in combat, distant, distant. Someone, somewhere, somewhen, spoke her name.
“Hello?” Wreathed in the irrationality of the moment, she called hopefully, but received no answer.
A boy appeared at the end of the hallway. She started toward him, and the world turned inside out, causing her to trip and fall.

That seems to be more like Luke and Vader and not Ben and Snoke.
And up for interpretation, that only a book can provide, for who the boy is.
Save the Sebastian Shaw Ghost! Save the dream…!
True, I still think it would make sense for it to be Ben. Besides, it’s a fan edit, you can do whatever you want, but it’s Hal’s edit, and he can choose whether he wants it or not.

According to the old, leaked shooting schedule for TFA that was floating around the internet a few months before it’s release, there did seem to be a planned shot of young Ben with Snoke, in some shape or form. So you’re that probably was intended to be a young Ben.
The shooting schedule also mentioned shots of Leia and Han sending young Ben away with Luke, Ben training with him, and then leaving the Luke’s training temple. I don’t know if these were ever shot, though.
Regarding Hal’s edit, though, I think it is pretty much finished, so I think any big suggestions should be left for general edit threads for this film.
That’s right, it’d take something compelling to crack it open again, as it accomplished everything I wanted it to.
That said, I don’t really see how or why it’d be important to shoehorn Snoke and Ben into the sequence.
Especially considering… ya know… how unimportant Snoke becomes in the trilogy.
Snoke is meant to be a stepping stone in Kylo Ren’s arc.
I appear to have stumbled upon corrupt audio at 1:06:40. It lasts for a few seconds. I’ve replayed it multiple times so it’s not an issue with my video player.
I don’t notice anything on the 1080p and TinyEncode. What version are you watching and can you describe further?
The music gets distorted for like 3 seconds. Just watched it again. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn’t. So it’s probably an issue on my end. It’s the latest version (says I got it on January 24th). 1080p. I wouldn’t worry about it.
