Any Star Wars TV stuff coming up?
Time
This is only partially relevent to this thread...............

Over here in the UK, there is currently an advert on ITV with Chewie in it. It could be a breakfast cereal.

I have also just been to see the preview showing of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and there is a FANTASTIC Orange (UK mobile phone company) ad starring Darth Vader with a couple of Stormtroopers. These ads usually make it onto TV.

As I said, only partially relevent to this thread...............

Info: Interest in DVD Trading Anyone?
Time
I do agree with what The Maker says and appreciate your comments in return.

Things around here are VERY relaxed and informal and most people are very willing to help out others to find what they are looking for.

One to one trades, helping out the people who are doing the projects, helping out those who post the torrents or on newsgroups, helping out newcomers etc are more the norm than strict trade guidlines. PM's and e-mail are the best way to go here.

Greetings from Wookie Groomer; Split Screen Project (Released)
Time
The original ESB was done using the Dr Gonzo version but there was problems with frame skipping for many people, mainly on NTSC players.

ESB was then done again using the TR47 version the same as both ANH and ROTJ.

There is a simple way to tell thest two apart.

The TR47 version has the full Leia welding scene and the Dr Gonzo version doesn't.

Info Wanted: a question for the pro's - which is the best OT preservation release?
Time
Personally, I think that you cannot go far wrong with the EditDroid set.

After that, the TR47, ISOMIX and Dr Gonzo sets all have near-equal merits and are all decent transfers.

If you still want more go for the Farsight set Some people around these parts like this one best of all and I quite like it too.

For completeness, look out for the Quality Broth set as well but this one is not so good. Likewise the Punk 13 set.

If you want an SE set, look out for the German GKar set.

Of course, do not forget the Wookie Groomer Splitscreen set as well.

All of the above is just my opinion............................

Info Wanted: Which OT project version were available on...?
Time
From your description.....
"Definitive Collection" logos, commentaries, easter eggs, etc.
.....the set sounds like the Dr Gonzo version that has been around the torrent sites for a while.

However, that version is anamorphic.

The Quality Broth Release Group version has also been around the torrent sites for a while but that version has none of the extras you mention.

The TR47 version in its original form has no menus, logos, easter eggs etc

Who has caved?
Time
There are not too many people out there that would argue with that opinion.

With this version of the OT, the Wookie Groomer Split Screen trilogy and the 2004 official DVD's for those who have caved in you have a near perfect Star Wars OT collection.

That is my opinion for what it is worth.
