Any Star Wars TV stuff coming up?
Time
Request: Any viewers in the UK with DVD recorders please could you try and record these in high quality. I'm going to endeavor to do it myself and make a DVD of them but I'm worried I might miss one.

That sounds like a bit of a challenge to me......

I will give it a shot and try and record all these just in case you miss any of them.

...............and it gets even better for us Brits.

Sunday 15, 21:00, BBC3

Generation Jedi tells the story of a generation through the parable of Star Wars. From the innocence of A New Hope to the darkest episode to date in Revenge of the Sith, does this journey represent a modern metaphor for our times politically, socially, culturally, and personally? Have we all gone from hopeful Luke to a troubled Darth Vader?

Star Wars fan and Generation Jedi representative Dermot O'Leary meets fellow celebrity fans, real life Star Wars aficionados, and uses the archive to test the theory.

can someone put these 2 dvds up on a torrent site in uncompressed dvd iso format? wouldn't mind seeing that new musical journey bonus dvd either.

I do not know about any torrents as yet but "A Musical Journey" has been posted as both a compressed VCD and in full DVD format over on Usenet.

"Heroes" also got posted too and "Villains" is planned to be posted as well.

Basic info on how to get Usenet and how to find out what has been posted can be found here.

Time

A quick reminder to the folks out there in the UK (most regions).

Look out for the free Star Wars - Heroes and Villains DVD’s free in the Sun and the News of the World this coming Saturday and Sunday.

More details here.

I did mention this elsewhere but I thought I would start a new thread to try to make sure that nobody missed out.

Info: Interesting Video Finds Alternate Return Of The Jedi Dialogue
Time
There's an old Maria Shriver interview where Mark Hamill also talks about playing Luke again in episode 9. He's wearing a horrible blue striped shirt. It's on a disc called Star Wars Rarities

.........and there was me thinking that the Rarities disc was only good for using as a coaster for a coffee cup!!!

The disc that ocpmovie has is the same one as the screenshots supplied.

Rarities 1 and 2 are worth a look at if only for the really strange things on there.

In my opinion, Rarities 3 is not worth the bother. Firstly because so far it has been impossible to burn and secondly it is simply the Kenner ads and a few SE trailers.

See a full listing of the contents of Rarities 1 and 2 here.

Star Wars - The Edits and DVDr releases thread
Time
In the same way that the Wookie Groomer split screen releases are perfect for comparing the original theatrical releases to the 2004 releases, the original EditDroid ANH will be perfect for comparing the differences in the mono to stereo soundtracks.

Unfortunately, I have heard that the mono sound is very quiet and weak compared to the PAL mono wav file released by Moth3r.

Help: looking for... star wars ITV broadcast version
Time
thanks for spending the time to put the list of other threads together, you have truly humbled my efforts to find out about this. i never imagined that so many people would have put together so many different versions...

Not a problem.

The recreation of a perfect as possible version of the 1977 Theatrical version of Star Wars is something that I am very interested in seeing done so I know all of the threads where this is discussed.

The problem seems to be that neither of the known mono soundtracks are perfect, hence the hope that one good version can be rebuilt.

The Radio Drama DVD project (Original Trilogy) (Completed - Not Released)
Time
When you actually start looking, there is not too much information out there about the Radio Drama's and most of what there is seems to be spread over many web-sites.

Good luck in your quest and here is a the only picture I found during a quick search

http://www.toysrgus.com/images-store/radiodrama-translite.jpg

Maybe a dedicated webpage for the Radio Drama's is needed...................

Any Star Wars TV stuff coming up?

Once again, slightly off topic (which I apologise for) but this may be of interest for some of the Brits out there.........

Next Saturday in The Sun and on Sunday in the News of the World newspapers, they are giving away in the paper, a pair of Star Wars good guys/bad guys DVD's. One DVD each day

They are saying that total playing time is over one hour and all 6 films are covered.

Not bad for £1.30.

Info: Interest in DVD Trading Anyone?
Time
Thanks for the OT DVD link-it will come in handy. Whose webpage is it?

I put my hand up to answer that question.

It started life as a simple notepad list of the various OT versions available out there in the big bad world.

I then expanded the list into a html page on my own PC with the menu screenshots for my own use.

Prompted by the number of "What version" posts here, I then expanded to what you see now and I expect it to expand even more in the future.

However, it would not exist without the help and input of a couple of other OT.com regulars and I thank them for their help, input and webspace.

Simple but effective I think.

Any other feedback is appreciated........

I think I speak for many when I say that there are many items on your current VHS listings that are of interest to people around here.......

The Star Tours material is of particular interest to me as a reminder of my trip to Florida back in '92.

First things first, I suggest that you open up your PM's.

Secondly, you need to know what Laser Disc transfer you have. Lookout for a website that tells you how to work out what you currently have. You probably have an existing known version.

Thirdly, if your original link was only to a "My Star Wars Collection" page, without all the other stuff, folk would be much happier. Plus the fact that the current link breaks many forum rules and may just get removed anyway!!!
