Help Wanted: 'Shadows of the Empire' N64 Game Trailer
Time
So many questions...............

The clip was on a UK Magazine disc from 1997. PC Gaming World issue 11 to be exact. Disc b to be even more exact.

The quality is 1997 quality. Fantastic on a P133 with 16Mb RAM but a bit lame now.

It was easier to do a screenshot than write this lot down.

This was not the trailer you were looking for............

which blade runner version you trying to get russ?if it is my version you already have it coming to you.
DJ
Yes, it is your version.

If you cant get it off of a.b.starwars just email me and I can hook you up with good old snail mail.

Thanks for that but this version is already on the way to me.

I just found it weird that the post did not show on a.b.sw through my ISP but did through Astraweb.

I have noticed this before and wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem.......

I am just hoping that Segaflip's regular a.b.sw posts come through OK in the future and that this is a one off.

A weird thing is happenning with the Blade Runner post on a.b.starwars.

All of Segaflips posts to date have appearred on my ISP servers.

The Blade Runner post does not appear at all yet my Astraweb account shows all of the parts posted so far.

The only differrence I can see is that the post is also to a.b.dvd which my ISP servers do not see.

The recent ANH 2004 rip did the same thing too and that was also posted to a.b.dvd.

Any clues???

Info: Star Wars Executor Boxset VHS (1995)
Time
I dunno if my transferring method would be ideal for you or not - but I have some really nice results when transferring some VHS tapes to DVD already. I would be transferring them straight from the VHS onto a standalone Liteon LVW 5005B DVD Recorder. I would only transfer in either 1, 2, or 3 hour mode - I wouldn't go beyond these times as it can pixelate pretty badly after this point.

I also have this recorder and have had good results recording from SKY Digital and from PAL VHS. I would stick with 2 hour mode at the most as the 3 hour mode tends to lose a bit of quality.

I have the 5 main releases of the OT and SE (91, 93, 95, 97 and 00) in Wide and Full screen which I intend to preserve to DVD at some point in the future.

The Star Wars Executor Boxset VHS (1995) would make a fine addition to my future efforts.

Help Wanted: SW videogames cutscenes (esp. Rogue Squadron series)
Time
On the Rogue games for the NGC, is there an easy way to get all the cutscenes to play, without the minor hassle of actually playing the games all the way through.

I have in the past plugged the NGC into a DVD recorder to record parts of a game - Star Wars Arcade of all things!! I was challenged to find out what was written on the Death Star on the second level. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU was written on it in the first level.

The results were very good so I would expect cutscenes to be equally good.

I've never even seen the mono-mix DVD... does it exist and if so how would one get it?

The video quality of this version is not as good as the later version we all know and love but there are hours of fun to be had switching between soundtracks looking for the audio changes.

Well worth a download when it hits a.b.starwars

Looking forward to seeing what you have done with the Alec Guinness Biography.

If this is SF003 and we have only seen your Lightsaber Montage, what is your other production??? Will there be a Segaflip release thread???

Anyhow, for the "techies" out there, the Alec Guinness Biography was broadcast several times during May in the UK (PAL) on the Biography Channel, which broadcasts on the SKY Digital system. The recording was done by a LITEON LVW-5005 in 2 hour record mode.

Rikter has seen another recording I did using exactly the same settings and was quite impressed by the quality.

***The Official RowMan*** Release Thread
Time
Hot on the heels of the 4 Rowman extras DVD'd posted on a.b.sw by Segaflip is a version of the The Star Wars Holiday Special - KCCI - RowMan Transfer, re-authored, with different chapter break points.

The Angrysun DVD had the best video I have seen so far of the Star Wars Holiday Special, but the chapter placement seemed pretty arbitrary. So, I reauthored it with chapter stops after each of the cheesier sections of the program (like Harvey Korman's alien cook) which makes it easy to skip those parts. And there is a chapter stop at the beginning of the Boba Fett cartoon so you can go directly to that (from the scene selection menu) if you want to avoid Diahann Carroll or Jefferson Starship.

My 1997' SE laserdisc transfer set - including extras.... (Released)
Time
russs15 has added my sets to his website(pan and scan also) as well so go check out his site.

Shameless plug........

The website is a joint effort (not mine) but it is The Dark One (formerly known as Darth Osor) who coughed up the cash for the domain name and webspace.

As he is a 6 foot 7 inch tall Sith wannabe and quite scary looking, I thought I would just make things clear and not take all the glory.

I had a funny feeling that another version existed.

I recall seeing screenshots on one of Rikters pages of the 3 film menu's and the 4 disc extras set and the 3 bonus discs were different to the ones I now have.

As this set is in general public release, I would like to if possible add this other version to the DVD version pages to assist future readers.

Do you or anyone else have those screenshots. Rikters page seems to be long gone otherwise I would have got them there.

A few words from the creator about the official titles of each version would be appreciated too.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help there working out what I actually had and what I was short of for my collection.

Ironically, I have been adding to the Star Wars DVD versions pages that I have been working on for the past few months. The confusion today yet again proves the need for such a web site. The whole thing is still very much UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

With all the newly found information and your new screenshots, I have updated the entry for your releases.

I still have all the detail to add but is it looking about right so far?
