Classic Edition: Return of the Jedi by Ocpmovie (Released)

This sounds like the promotional 12" used on the EditDroid isolated score for ROTJ..........

All of the soundtracks were mixed on an Avid Media Composer. The
soundtracks were from the Definitive Collection LDs, the Wide Screen
edition laserdiscs, and the aforementioned VHS tape was the source of
the mono mix. This process was extremely time-consuming because of the
isolated scores, whose sources were all the commercially available
soundtracks, as well as the promotional Lapti Nek 12" single (NO other
sources were used for the music. Period). This process gave us an
unswerving admiration for the job done by music editors on feature films.

..........and also included as mp3 files in the DVD-ROM extras on the official release by the EditDroid team.

You can check out many menu-shots, audio tracks, no of chapters and no of files in the VIDEO_TS folder here.

If your DVD's do not appear here, they may well be new, unknown transfers.

Star Wars Read-Alongs and other exciting audio stuff.........
Time
I cannot find the original discussions about these titles from early last year so I have decided to announce this in a new thread for those that may be interested.

As part of a general discussion about all things audio, the "Story of" and "Star Wars Read-Alongs" were discussed for future preservation projects.

The "Story of" titles were already available at the time as mp3 files and only Jedi of the "Read-Along" series was available here.

Since then, the 3 movie "Read-Alongs" are also to be found as Easter Eggs on a certain well known LD to DVD transfer.

And now to the reason for this post. There has been a posting of many of the "Read-Along" titles over on alt.binaries.starwars, including the 1997 Special Edition versions.

Star Wars Read-Alongs:

Here's what's in the post

01 Droid World
02 Planet Of The Hoojibs
03 Return Of The Jedi (1983)
04 Return Of The Jedi (1997)
05 Star Wars (1979)
06 Star Wars: A New Hope (1997)
07 Star Wars Adventures In Colors & Shapes
08 The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
09 The Empire Strikes Back (1997)
10 The Ewoks Join The Fight
11 The Phantom Menace

Ripped, Restored, & Remastered from Original Vinyl by Scotty Balls except:

Planet Of The Hoojibs
Return Of The Jedi (1983)
Return Of The Jedi (1997)
Star Wars: A New Hope (1997)
The Empire Strikes Back (1997) These were Ripped, Restored, & Remastered from Cassette by Scotty Balls

The Phantom Menace (Ripped from CD)

The only titles not available in this post are:-

Adventures in ABC
The Ewok Adventure
The Battle for Endor

I will be checking to see if there is any chance of the books being scanned and posted as well.

Grinder's PAL widescreen project (Released)
Time
I mixed the REPOST files with what I had decent from the first post. Out of 50 or so files I got from the REPOST, only 3 files had 1 block missing so that was a very successfull post indeed.

Thanks for clarifying the flaw question I had. I thought I was going crazy.

The whole thing does look very nice indeed on my 42" Plasma telly so it was well worth the download.

I look forward to more releases from you in the future. The pre-THX PAL Widescreens look particularly interesting if that project ever happens as well as the First Issues from the UK.

I might have missed something or just be completely wrong so please bear with me...............

When I first saw the Moth3r PAL ANH I marvelled at how fantastic it was but was also horrified at two major flaws in the very first droids in the corridor scene. When the Citizen PAL ANH came out, the flaws were there too. I cross checked with my PAL VHS ANH tapes and the same flaw appeared there too.

I have since taken this as almost a "trademark" of the remastered PAL releases.

The trouble is, the Grinder version does not have these flaws.

Have they been repaired by Grinder, is this a different master or am I just totally wrong??????

Hey russs, could it be possible to send me the 1994 Fullscreen cover of SW and the 1994 Widescreen cover of ESB

Follow the links to get the covers. Let me know when you have them and I will remove the files and links.

The problem with the 1994 set is the silver foil logo's on the covers which come out black when scanned. If anyone knows how to cure this problem, please let me know as I have tried everything I know of.

NOW WHAT DID I TELL YOU!!!

Just kidding, thanks. I hope everyone will say that

Dammit! I downloaded part034.rar, and it is incomplete indeed. But I have 29 of the 32 blocks. This is weird, I have posted several things in the past, and I never had to repost anything. Also Yenc, Binsearch.info, and my agent say it's 100% complete... I'll download it myself as soon as the post is finished, and create extra PAR2 files, and repost the broken rars.

QuickPar tells me I still need 1378 (about 40%) blocks even after the original par2 files are taken into account..........

My premium Astraweb service does not improve anything either.

I think I am screwed!!!!!

Yeah, I'm including the standard 10% PAR2. But I just checked, and everything is complete over here, so it must be your server. It could also be you started your download a bit too early, and haven't given your server the time to catch up. Have you tried downloading the older broken files again?

I have been back and re-downloaded the bad files and have also done the same using my Astraweb account. No matter how I do it, Agent says that the files are damaged and only saves a much smaller file to my HDD. QuickPar then spits them out and laughs at me too!!!!!

Grinder's Star Wars Original Trilogy - Episode IV.part034.rar and Grinder's Star Wars Original Trilogy - Episode IV.part035.rar were saved as 625kB files by Agent - nowhere near the 48,828kB that they should be.

The weird thing is that Agent showed them to be OK and fully present before I started.

The good news is that I have done the "rename a rar to a vob and try the vob in PowerDVD" thing and this transfer does look rather nice - even on a computer monitor!!

I assume that there will be some par2 files for this post.

I hope so as half the files I have got so far are missing blocks and a third of those are missing ALL blocks.

First of all I am checking my premium account to try and get some of the problems sorted before I have to use the par2 files.
