Star Wars Read-Alongs and other exciting audio stuff.........

I did and it is something I am thinking over..........

The Read-Alongs really need the actual books should scans of those ever become available.

However, the Story of's would be great with the full variety of visual media available. Pictures, posters, comic books, BTS and video synched up to the actual spoken words would be fantastic.

.: The Lancer DVD Project :. (* unfinished project *)

I am using DVD maestro and have a film with 7 (yes count 'em) 7 audio tracks.

Seven???

I thought that you had settled for a meagre six audio tracks

1. AC3 1.0 Mono Track (1977 35mm Academy Mono track by Moth3r)
2. AC3 2.0 Stereo Track (1977 35mm Two track Dolby Stereo Track by Neil S Bulk)
3. PCM 2.0 Stereo Track (1993 Definitive Collection Two Track Dolby Stereo)
4. AC3 5.1 Surround Track (see note)
5. AC3 2.0 Stereo Track (Isolated Score Track created by Editdroid)
6. AC3 2.0 Stereo Track (Commentary Track from 2004 DVD Release)

* Track 4 is created from 3 separate sources.
a. 1993 Definitive Collection audio separated out into a 5.1 track using Adobe Audition (my own work)
b. 1997 Special Eedition 5.1 AC3 file created by Neil S Bulk, provided by Rikter and Russs15
c. 2004 official DVD 5.1 AC3 file.

I guess that the extra is track either the Definitive Collection LaserDisc commentary, the 1986 Digital Sound mix or Isomix isolated score......

I have the records and very bad quality mp3 rips from them, I have the reel to reel of the story of star wars unused and the soundtrack on reel to reel for the first film in a box, which I very much would like to tranfer someday as they are very good quality four track.

Check your e-mail..........

Info: Does Anyone Have The Old Original Theater Bootleg '77 Tape? (Released)

Instead of re-posting the previous version, you MIGHT rather wait for Starkiller's upgrade.

Here is what The Starkiller had to say on his Bootleg transfer.......

I have just transferred my pre-ANH bootleg tape and will finish authoring it soon. I will probably upload that. I know someone else already transferred one of these, but I think my tape may be closer to the source. But my transfer just looks better anyway. The quality still sucks, of course, but it looks just like the bootleg tape.

Having seen some of his previous work, including the 1982 ANH VHS ex-rental tape which was simply incredible (considering the age and source), I am looking forward to seeing what is released.

That sounds fantastic, I wonder what they might be..........

I do know that hot on the heels of the 1982 VHS transfer by Starkiller (which was very good) will be a transfer of his 1977 Bootleg VHS tape and he reckons that the quality is better than anything we have seen so far.

For one or two details of bh005, go here.

I too can send a VCD or do a quick transfer of the VHS. I have just checked and it is also tucked away as an extra on Segaflips SF009 which is a VCD to DVD conversion of the SE.

You will also need info on the theatrical, digital and DVD releases of the film. A good copy of the theatrical bootleg on DVD would be worth having a copy of for this.

Do not forget the IMAX release either.

I did record the UK Network Premier of Clones which may or may not be of use to you (if I can find it).

As to the BTS content of any of these, I am not sure........

If you just post the vob/ifo/bup files off the original disc that you copied for me and others as well as any jpeg or nfo files you wish to post you should be fine.

Image files are better than individual files as people have an exact copy of your original. But six months down the line, the image is now burned to DVD and the image file long since trashed, it is nearly impossible to go back and re-seed.

You only have to look at the Moth3r ANH and ESB to see the problem.

Do you mean the actual audio soundtrack (ie to add on to the Moth3r ANH) or a DVD with it already on??

Meanwhile, here is a few lines about some of the other audio gems currently hitting alt.binaries.starwars.............

All the Story of's have now been posted and they are all bloody good. These were closely followed by high quality audio from the Star Tours ride.

The 1980 Empire Strikes Back Disco album does not immediately hit you as worth bothering with but it is a fun thing to listen to. This is completely eclipsed by the Star Wars Musical. You have not lived until you have listened to this. Trust me!!!!

This arrived today and, having watched the first 15 minutes, I am very impressed with the whole concept.

After a while, I even stopped noticing the BTS stuff and was watching as if it was the film proper. The BTS fitted in so well.........

I for one hope to see the prequel and the prequel to the prequel.

Probably the best thing to come out of Wales since the M4 Motorway.................!!

I give the concept 10/10

SIX fantastic brand new preservation projects..... (Released)
Time
It's been a long road, getting from there to here.

Seven weeks to be exact and "Yes" I do know that the above line is Star Trek not Wars................

I got the 4 new releases from Dark Jedi today and will be giving them a good look at over the next few days.

From what I have seen so far, I am very happy with the results and it proves that the preservation that has been done was worthy of doing, which is a good job really as some of my money has gone towards making some of this happen.

A big thanks to Dark Jedi and to all those who have posted here too.

A couple of sets will be going out as already planned and if there is more interest, I will send out another set to start a PiF chain going
