Ewan McGregor Says Star Wars: Obi-Wan Filming Delayed to Next Year, Release Date Won’t Be Affected’:-

https://comicbook.com/starwars/2020/01/24/ewan-mcgregor-says-star-wars-obi-wan-filming-delayed/

A few quotes from the man himself (taken from the linked article above)…

“It just slipped to next year, that’s all,” McGregor says of the delay. “The scripts are really good. I think that so now that Episode IX came out and everyone at Lucasfilm’s got more time to look to spend on the writing, they felt like they wanted more time to write the episodes. I read about 80-90 percent of what they’ve written so far and it’s really, really good. And instead of shooting this August, they just want to start shooting in January, that’s all. It’s nothing more dramatic than that. It often happens in projects, they just wanted to push it to next year.”

“It will have the same release date, I don’t think it will affect the release date. They’re still shooting towards having the [series] released when it was going to originally release.”

and

‘When asked about reports that the series has been shortened from six to four episodes, McGregor denied them, simply saying: “I haven’t heard that.”

The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

Some posts have been deleted which were nothing to do with Hal’s proposed Edit - and instead just talking about the film in general - plus whatever people want to knock Disney for their apparent faults / choices for the Episode IX.

Lucasfilm must likely be quite relieved when they get a free pass / that so little criticism comes their way.

A quick reminder that the Star Wars Preservation and Star Wars Fan Edit sections of the site are NOT the places to bash on certain eras or aspects of the films, actors, film-makers or owners.

There are far more relevant threads in the Beyond the Original Trilogy or General Star Wars Discussion sections of the site to talk about this.

Critiquing a scene in the Star Wars Fan Edits section with the aim of improving it, removing it, altering it etc is perfectly fine. Statements such as ‘Disney sucks’ and ‘this film is so shit no Fan Edit can save it’ is not.

Thank you.
