A quality point, one you demonstrated very well for other popular franchises available on streaming services, and very much worth highlighting on here too…

The title of the article is misleading - in that this is an unreleased fan-project that will never likely see the light of day - but does illustrate what can be achieved…

I hadn’t realised Jose Maria Galante had recently died too, also this awful coronavirus:-

Spain’s deputy prime minister, Pablo Iglesias, tweeted: “Covid-19 has taken Chato Galante, freedom fighter, political prisoner during the dictatorship, campaigner for universal justice and against torturers – one of Brecht’s indispensables. My heart is broken. So long, comrade.”

Weirdest of all is that this could have been directed by David Lynch.

Or David Cronenberg

Was he really considered? I don’t think I’ve heard that.

Yes mate, Cronenberg talks about it here:-

David Cronenberg says decision not to direct Return of the Jedi was met with ‘stunned silence’’:-

https://ew.com/movies/2018/09/28/david-cronenberg-return-of-the-jedi

And the reasons he gives in the article for not directing it are pretty much spot on - especially considering George’s continued tinkering and altering of both Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi since; two films George didn’t actually make (‘make’ used in the ‘directed by’ sense of the term).

And you’re one of THOSE. Even worse.

Moderation are still waiting for your reply in PMs from months ago.

And yet here you are… cry-arsing the day after someone who posted similar content as you once did… and with you now also taking aim at both fellow members and the moderation.

As to not derail the thread further - which was explained to you last time - months ago… feel free to carry this on in a PM.

DominicCobb & ChainsawAsh - you both have PMs too.

Um…was the Dyad thing not the explanation [for Rey’s untrained Force-prowess]?

That didn’t seem to me to be the case. The dyad phenomenon got Palpatine’s attention because of the way he thought he could use Ben and Rey. It didn’t come across to me as explaining why Rey had the command of the Force that she did.

Also, the idea that a “nobody” can have such innate talent with the Force was kind of the whole point/message, wasn’t it? Bloodlines don’t matter, anyone can be the most important person in the galaxy?

“Innate talent” =/= command. Rey wasn’t merely “talented”; her actions indicated honing, which any talent requires to achieve its maximum potential. Yet the trilogy depicted no training for her ahead of time. This was a plot hole and indicative of Kathleen Kennedy’s hyper-feminism.

No more of this shite in here, thank you.

Give the opening post of this thread a read. There are far more relevant threads in the ‘Beyond the Original Trilogy’ or ‘General Star Wars Discussion’ sections of the site to talk about such topics. This section of the site isn’t one of them.

You also have a PM sent to you earlier today.

Rogue One * <em>Spoilers</em> * Thread
Time

^ Great to hear mate. I’m very much looking forward to seeing this on a friend’s 4K setup when this coronavirus is all over 😃

30th March 2020 finally saw the 4K UHD release of Rogue One - in the USA, Canada and a few other countries.

The UK should have it for the 20th April. Some other countries have release dates of late April / early May…

A comprehensive review for the 4K UHD release of Rogue One, from The Digital Bits website:-

https://thedigitalbits.com/item/rogue-one-a-star-wars-story-uhd

Unfortunately no new bonus material is included in this 4K UHD release - so there is still no audio commentary, no trailers, and no deleted, extended, or alternate scenes… and also no in-depth ‘Making Of’ documentary for Rogue One.

Also from the above linked review:-

‘Sadly, the two additional featurettes from the 2017 Target-exclusive Blu-ray 3D release — ‘Inside the Creature Shop’ (6:02) and ‘Digital Storytelling’ (4:31) — are also not here (they were found on a bonus DVD). The good news, however, is that when you redeem your ‘Movies Anywhere’ Digital code (on a paper insert in the packaging), the two featurettes are available there. Of course, you also don’t get the actual Blu-ray 3D version of the film.’

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker concept art reveals return to Coruscant’:-

https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/star-wars-rise-skywalker-concept-art-coruscant-094945486.html?

Decent article with some stunning concept art - also contains references and info on ‘The wolves of Coruscant’, ‘Lando’s original look’, ‘Desert driving’, ‘The imperial march redux’, and… ‘The secret history of Leia Organa’:-

‘General Leia Organa is a revered figure amongst the Resistance. But early drafts for the sequel trilogy suggested that Carrie Fisher’s alter ego wasn’t beloved in all quarters. In a treatment outlined by Michael Arndt, it was revealed that Leia’s status as Darth Vader’s daughter sidelined her while the Rebellion tried to transition into building a new Republic.’

^ I think this would have been a welcome addition to what we saw on screen - especially for the lack of world-building and awareness on the ‘lay of the land’ / current state of the Galaxy in The Force Awakens… and in regards to the plight of the Resistance, the New Republic, and also the status of the First Order itself.

I love these ‘Art Of’ books - even for content I’m not too fond of; the often amazing concept art and early ideas, scripts and story pieces that fall by the way, alternative looks to what we actually see on-screen… all help get the old imagination firing 😃

The book author, Phil Szostak, has an insightful and illuminating twitter account at https://twitter.com/PhilSzostak which is well worth a look at for rare, unused, or alternative angles etc for snippets of art - and info.

^ One of last few newspapers to have competent investigative journalism in the UK, IMHO mate. Distinctly different than tabloids or political-based mouthpieces of their tax dodging owners; who seem to specialise in the spread of fear, hate and division upon us.

They also welcome opinion articles for various viewpoints and ideologies. The Guardian isn’t perfect (what is?), but it does a lot better job on reporting the news than most out there. It also isn’t afraid to run ‘unpopular’ pieces either, or criticise the current Govt - something that the BBC has strayed away from in recent times.

Good sport section in The Guardian too 😉

I hope they can speed up the Universal Credit payments for those on low pay / have limited savings or income until June.
