Very interesting choices for the last two releases (and the forthcoming next two !).

I remember catching the original and not caring for the ending at all - in a way spoiling everything that had gone before.

In a Randy Jackson/American Idol way: "For me - not your best edit, but you did a good job dawg !"

Still wish you would max out more on the quality though and the use the fullest disc space possible - ala War of the Worlds (but I know that's not the point !).

Really tricky call ! I'm so familiar with the ones on the front, and love the biohazard warnings in the eyes, though the back cover eyes are totally new as an image - so provide a nice change to the norm. I guess for continuity sake (and you knew this was coming...) the front eyes on the back cover would be the best compromise though, as mentioned at the expense of the other pair.

The front cover ones are quite animalistic, and hence more in line with the nature of the film (though a vast part of the social commentary aspect of the film as well), the rear eyes are more "horror" movie, so it's whatever style you are going for klokwerk.

Totally understand that boon23 should have the deciding vote (though very pleased that you are continuing with the first as well !).

I like the back of the second with the eyes, the front is now very reminscent of the UK release:

Tough to find a balance I guess, but I'd personally have eyes on the front or the back, but not both (and if pushed - just the back !).

Which "tribals" are they boon23 ?

As a Londoner I think they did as good as job as time and budget could allow, like you say (shame that I *always* spot an individual walking through the back of one of the empty shots, I guess it could be a ragified Zombie !).

There's something about that cover I really like, I have to say - the stillness and the sunhaze warms you into it and does exactly what the film does, gives you a sense of forboding that something must be wrong, but you can't quite put your finger on it ! ('why is he wearing a hospital gown ?' the uninitiated would muse...). Perhaps making it more "horror" or overt would blunt the subtlety ?

Just a thought, love the edits and the klokwerk art, so won't complain either way whatever you go for - just know there will always be permanent webspace

Hey folks !

Things seem to be moving again

Evolution has had a great start on myspleen with over 50 downloads in a week - so there may be some potential new sources out there.

I'll start work on my "Director and his Work" contact and see if we can broker something - otherwise I'll take the lead from Jonno and will be ready with my newfound authoring skills !

Should anyone not have the Evolution final version yet, it's a pretty quick download on myspleen at the mo with a good ratio of seeders to leechers, otherwise get in touch. There's mini-hubs in the US and Europe ready to help as well

I personally think we should look to each film individually for the next discs and then maybe a curio disc with the Alien War, Speed of Fright footage etc. comprising the final disc.

Any thoughts ?

Hey folks,

Indeed a.b.dvd is big, but likewise has a huge following and it should make quite a splash amid the raft of more shady releases !

My fave is a.b.dvd.midnightmovies - it favours giallo and horror, so should similarly be quite championed by it's regulars.

I'm cool either way in all honesty. It seems to be going down very well on the spleen and will hopefully find a nice home anywhere on the newsgroups.

Many thanks for upping it bwlag.

With thanks to digitalfreaknyc - the torent is now available on MySpleen

If there are any members that can help out with seeding if they've already got a copy that would be great. As soon as it's out there and everyone who wants one has one, I'll get cracking on AA02 - which will be solely Alien based. Further releases will follow, one disc per film and then maybe an oddity disc to wrap the project up. That's the plan.

For me - only because it was one of my all time favourites when I was a nipper and haven't seen it since, but can recall so many moments:

"Even the mole on my arm ?"

It's probably aged dreadfully and won't have any resonances at all for anyone outside of the UK who doesn't know who Kenny Everett is

Lot's of progress made on the Appendix side of things, will keep you informed when I have more time: sometime next week I imagine at the moment ! Drop me a PM if you want Appendix #1 - some changes made to the text, quite minor - didn't have time to change everything to everone's taste - though the content will speak for itself !

I've done the myspleen fandango with a couple of curios that I've had in the past, to no avail ! Maybe I can convince Rikter to put it on his list if I ask him nicely

segaflip has a copy winging it's way to him, so hopefully it will be placed on his newsgroup list as well

However in the interim if you and f1209 want to send me a PM then I'm sure I'll be able to sort you out with a PiF from one source or another (you should have really been on the above list anyway dark_jedi due to all your kickass releases !)
