World Cup 2006
Time
Indeed, watched both games today and see Ecuador as strong faves for the group - they'll easily overcome Costa Rica and have 6 points in the bag - the victor of Poland v Germany on Wednesday will probably take the momentum into their last game to see them through as well.

Interesting... seeing as England (should they make it through the group stage !) seem to be coming to the boil - you'd have to fancy their chances with or wihtout Roo against any of the teams that were on their respective fields today !

Famous last words - now we'll go and lose to Paraguay

Info: The Criterion Laserdisc Preservation Thread
Time
Oh, I'm more than aware of digitalfreaknyc's Se7en and The Game are completed projects I have (and love) them both !

Indeed - I'm just putting together some of the disparate projects that are out there and creating a bit of groundswell in the interest for these great efforts. I'll create links to the various threads in good time - though the resurrection of the Kong commentary and the like are just what I was hoping would happen - so thanks to all for jumping aboard !

Info: The Criterion Laserdisc Preservation Thread
Time

There seem to be quite a number of interesting projects springing up in regards to Criterion Laserdisc preservation.

Should any topic deserve it’s own thread, for me - its definitely this one

There’s current topics/projects in regards to:

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

The Fisher King

Taxi Driver

King Kong (1933)

Se7en

The Game

And that’s just the start.

Personally I’d love to see a port of all Cronenberg’s ‘Crash’ extras as well.

More often than not - it’s the commentaries that hold most interest, though as many of the above prove there are obviously countless extras that have (and will) never see/n the light of day. I thought this would be a nice drop-in centre to discuss these and other Criterion projects. As ever - I’ll happily provide a hub of contact and if people need hooking up with the completed projects - I’ll always be happy to help.

Cheers,

meedermow

What is the rarest video in your collection?

Holy shit. I own the UK BFI release, which is the next best version to the Criterion. It's a pretty shite movie, but I'm 95% certain that the Criterion release is the rarest DVD in the world.

Fancy selling it?

It certainly is shite ("mangia !") but the completest in me was grateful I got it early ! I think it's true market value is probably only $200ish - but I wouldn't part with it for a release of the OT from Lucasfilm themselves !

Like that's ever gonna happen

PaulisDead2221 - this sounds a fantastic project !

I'd love to help in any way.

Audio wise I have the following and can provide them in FLAC (loseless) format (or whichever you choose):

Wendy Carlos - Rediscovering Lost Scenes vol1
Wendy Carlos - Rediscovering Lost Scenes vol2
Syd Barret - Opel
Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds

Send me a PM if that would be of any help.

All the best,

The Phantom of the Opera Resynched (Released)

I really dig the amount of work you must have put into this wmgan - this must have been a real labour of love !

I'd forgotten how "synth-y" the London Cast recording was - it's an obvious product of the mid-80's, but I do prefer it to the Poomacher version - so good job

Similarly a DVD sleeve would be the icing on the cake - anyone up to doing it ?

UK'ers, if anyone has problem grabbing this (and it was quite a beast to find on piratebay) just let me know.

Best,

meedermow

Heck, I would like a copy of that. Is it on myspleen?

Certainly is andy_k_250. Can't link to it - but it's in the "Other" section, about halfway down the page.

Just search for: Star Wars: Making Magic DVD by FanFiltration

Jambe, send me an email or a PM
